ITunes songs pause a lot of times
my mac started working slowly…its taking time to execute commands. the worst part is the iTunes. each song played pauses several times making it impossible to listen to music or anything in it. i tried uninstalling iTunes but no luck there. i thought its an app defect but turns out that its the problem with any music player. i downloaded "ecoute" to use instead of iTunes but it has the same problem. can someone please help me out…? i don't have the time to take my mac to a store so self help steps are preferred.

The Apple documents suggested earlier have valid tips but are not specific. You need multiple GB at least of free disk space at all times. I leave about 18 GB but I also run a much older system and yours will likely need more. With Apple gladly catering to user media demands which requires huge files, but at the same time users wanting slim computers which means tiny hard drives (my 20 year old Mac in the basement has a larger hard drive than some today), it is now becoming nearly impossible to have anything but a very, very modest iTunes library on an internal drive.
Do not confuse drive space with "memory". You needs lots of both. Memory is RAM (see references linked).

The songs will play in my itunes library but they won't transfer onto my ipod correctly. For some of the congs, I just have to locate the file and readd the song to itunes, but a lot of the songs, I don't know what the problem is.
This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

Why does itunes have me logging in multiple times to buy a song? I can access everything else fine, but now my account is disabled for some reason although my password was entered correctly... help
I've seen a couple of other threads over the last 10 minutes posting similar problems, so it appears to have affected other people as well - the poster on the first thread has now posted again saying that it's now working for him, so you could give it another try.

I'm trying to buy a song from ITunes which i have done many times, but it wont except my apple ID and a page comes up saying that its my first time buying from this computer and i have to answer security questions but it wont except my answers there either, which i know are right. While all this is happening i am actually already signed to itunes so why wont it accept my password when trying to buy???? Please Help.
Wish I could help. My wife is having the same problem. Same computer for 2 years and all of a suddent it thinks this is her first purchase.

Quicktime takes a lot of time to open after last Quicktime or iTunes update
I have actually no big problems, but its a bit annoying that Quicktime Player takes a lot of time (maybe twice as before) for opening a Quicktime file (mp3 or video file, it doesnt matter).. I think this situation arised after the last Quicktime update or the update before this I dont know for sure. I think the last Quicktime update.. I am using the latest Quicktime which is 7.6 and its Tiger (10.4.11). When Quicktime Player is not opened, and its getting opened for the first time by clicking for instance on a mp3 file, it takes more then 10 seconds to open up, when I click the file Quicktime Player bounces normally as always but then the spinning rainbow beachball is shown for more then 10 seconds before the player window appears. There is no delay when I go open a mp3 from another mp3. The delay occurs only when Quicktime Player is not opened yet (quit/closed) and you click on a Quicktime file then the delay happens during the opening of the player.. Sometimes it doesnt even open the file I clicked, but only Quicktime Player so I have to click the same file again..
What I tried is :
deleted all Quicktime player preference files.. Didnt help
removed all plugins from the Quicktime library.. Didnt help either
What could the problem possibly be? What can I do to recover it except for installing my system all over again? Will Apple fix this problem with the next update?
PS: I dont exclude that the latest iTunes update (8.1) can be a cause of this problem. Do you know if the iTunes update also changed/updated something regards Quicktime (Player)?Why is an Archive & Install not an option for you? It does NOT delete your applications or your settings, and is NOT the same as an Erase & Install which does.
In my opinion it will be the only way to get your old G3 working properly again.

But before doing your archive and install, when did you last perform a bit of maintenance?
Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Leopard.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

Is there a way to rename multiple Itunes songs at the same time
Is there a fast way to rename multiple Itunes songs at once, instead of renaming one song inside Itunes at a time? For example; So I can select multiple songs at once and rename each songs Genre all at the same time? Without needing to rename song by song?
Casey ComputerYou can click on multiple songs, and change info in the Get Info > Info screen. This applies to most fields EXCEPT Name. iTunes has never allowed the simultaneous change of Name of multiple songs, presumably on the grounds that it is usually an error to do so.
Regarding Genre, yes, this can be changed for multiple songs at once, using the Info tab of Get Info. -
Is there any way of undoing a shuffle? The CDs I downloaded to iTunes have all been shuffled into individual 'songs'. As most of these are classical and folk, it is inappropriate to have them separated into songs that play any old time (ie, a movement from Beethoven's 5th symphony followed by a folk song followed by one excerpt from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, etc. Can I restore them all to the original albums and make sure the shuffle doesn't happen again?

Sorry, i did not say that i need to go out further than 1 week. This is for a church Bell Tower Music System. So we don't want to have to re program the music every week. We are looking for more of a Calender App that will play iTunes Songs for alarms...different songs, on different days. IDEAS ANYONE ???

hi, my iPhone5s is only 3 months old, it has been like a whole month now since it started crashing, displaying the blue screen of death, since yesterday it was in the loop of restart-crash, and now it is stuck in recovery mode after lots of times displaying blue screen.
I cannot restore it as phone continues crashing again with blue screen, when iTunes displays error 14 on verification.
help please, this phone is all the means of communication I have.It's a hardware problem. That's it. You shouldn't bother yourself with this situation. Just see an AASP.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Hard drive packed up, but had Time Machine backup. I installed new ssd and upgraded to Mountain Lion, but I can't find iPhoto library and photos or iTunes songs? Is there an answer to this? A backup run did not install either photos or songs. Graham
Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

I am unable to download itunes songs purchase on my iphone. I have recieve a download error that says tap to retry. I do that and keep receiving the same error. I have read some responses to try to pause the download once it is downloading and also to restart the phone, but neither have worked for me,
