Itunes soooo slow and often stuck, solutions????

i downloaded the latest version of Itunes for my windows cause recently reinstalled everything on my laptop and threw everything off. Now really is awfull to use. If i start it up it takes a long time and freezes my whole computer. And if i finally look for the tunes i like, it takes ages to scroll down and listen to tunes. Tunes get stuck , wont play or wont stop cause of the whole screen freezing.
Does anyone else have this problem or should i just try an older version?

Even typing this simple message with iTunes 7.6 playing a playlist in the background keeps randomly freezing my computer... so this message took 2 mins to type (which usually takes 30 secs) because iTunes keeps freezing my ENTIRE computer.

Firefox 3.6.10 in Ubuntu 10.04 recently became very slow and often doesn't find websites, especially those in My Yahoo, whereas Chromium works fine. When searching for a website, a dialog finally pops up saying "Server not found" "Firefox can't find server at finance.yahoo.com" When searching for, say, M&T Bank, Firefox says "looking up dnssearch.rr.com" My Internet Service Provider" is Time Warner's Road Runner. I followed the directions for Firefox not finding some websites by changing my connection setting to "no proxy", by disabling IPv6 and DNS prefetching to no avail. I uninstalled Firefox and then re-installed it - no change. I went to Tools > clear recent history, but the latter was shaded and unclickable.

You can try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />

I have the same problem with new 11.0. Presentation of album data now seems scrambled in 'Album' screen. Instead of albums in alphabetical order with all album tracks I now get albums in the order of the Album Artist. Unless the album artist is EXACTLY the same, the tracks on any one album can be spread all over the screen (hopeless for compilations). Does anbody know how to get the Album screen to sort solely on the Album title?

I am using MacBook and often face a speed or hang up problem with most of the softwares. Say for example, Skype, Mail/address book, excel etc.
For anything it searches and indexing is horible.
The address book is the worst i have everseen and while composing a mail, as soon as you start typing address, it searches and dont allow you to enter at your own and it takes so long time to finish it.
Skype crashes 3-4 times in a day and takes long long time to log in.

I solved this problem by restoring my phone to factory setting. I dint find any solution to this problem. Now instead of using "Google Sync" i use iTunes contact sync which does the same thing.
The key is not to use "Google Sync" when you restore your iPhone. Follow these steps:
1. Take back up of everything. Sync your contacts so your gmail has latest contacts.
2. Restore your iPhone. And set it as new iPhone instead of reloading everything from previous backup.
3. Sync everything using iTunes.
4. For contacts go to Info -> Sync Contact with -> you can set up gmail here and it will load all gmail contacts to your iPhone.
My iPhone is working perfectly after this. I hope it works on your too.

Itunes Freezes ,slow and won't allow search

When i start itunes it freezes momentarily, is very slow and won't allow me to put more than two letters in Search box before freezing. Everything else runs on pc fine.
Anybody any ideas? Using 10.2.1.1 but I've installed different versions but same problems.
Any help would be appreciated as it's driving me nuts!

Good old fashioned XP. I run it on other pc's with XP with no problems. Tried running various old versions but no luck. I'm sure it must be blindingly obvious to somebody who knows what they're doing!

Why is iTunes crap for Windows but runs good with Mac. If apple is going to make iTunes for windows they should maybe try to fix it first, iTunes lags a lot and freezes many times. Its the only program on my computer that does that. Apple should fix iTunes for windows. iTunes is maybe another reason why my songs are gone from my iPod.

Well if its running slow and freezing, it and/or quicktime is conflicting with something, like windows, the CD drive, antivirus/security programs or some other software.
Try defragging your harddrive. Leave iTUnes closed and oopen Quicktime to see if it opens or throws an error message up when playing something in it. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (Version 6.0.4.2) by going to help>aboout If you don't have the latest goto apple.com and download it
Also goto the PC makers site and download the latest updates and patches, some systems have patches that directly address iTUnes issues

After I updated iTunes to 7.6 it has been really show and often freezing. Has anyone with Windows Vista Home Basic had this problem??? If something can be done what can I do? Thanks =)

Exchange Web Services pull subscription + GetEvents often slow and gets stuck

I have a problem with GetEvents that I find strange and very worrying.
Our client creates a pull subscription (either a new one, or by specifying and old watermark in case of subscription timeout) and every few minutes calls GetEvents to receive changes to
the folders in the subscription. Since this is a mobile client, there is a possibility that the client may be inactive for several hours or days between GetEvents. For the most part, this works; clients synchronize the contents of the folders.
One problem I have is GetEvents does not return the maximum number of events per call, making it necessary to call GetEvents many times until all the events are received.
From time to time, users report that their client stopped syncing. Looking at the logs, it seems GetEvents returns (in what seems like an infinite loop) that only one item has changed and
that there are more events pending. I've seen logs with more than 2000 GetEvents called with this pattern.When debugging, the item seems to be related to junk mail rules, but the users report they have not made modifications to their junk
mail rules. What could be the cause of this and how can I prevent it?
We also recently saw a problem where GetEvents was stuck with StatusEvent and indicating that it has more events. This is normally when the Exchange has not filled the events queue. But
this happened across hours. GetEvents just didn't want to fill the event queue.

IPod Classic 160 Gb - iTunes is SLOW and where are my Podcasts?

I just upgraded to an iPod Classic 160. I have experienced 2 problems, but not with album art.
First, iTunes is very slow. It seems to freeze for minutes at a time when performing any operations on it.
Secondly, I have a lot of Podcasts - both video and audio.
I can download them with no problem. I can see them in the contents pane in iTunes for my computer. I can play them in iTunes and I can sync them with my new iPod (apparently).
However, they do NOT show up on my iPod. The new contents screen shows No Podcasts. When I do a search for them they show up as songs and I can heard the video podcast soundtracks.
In iTunes with my iPod connected they show up under both the iTunes directory and in the iPod Directory immediately after syncing. However, if I eject and then reconnect the iPod, upon reconnection they no longer show up in iTunes in the iPod directory.
I am assuming this is a bug with either iTunes 7.4.x in the way it categorizes Podcasts or it is an OS issue with the iPod. I have the latest versions of iTunes, the latest SW and Firmware updates for the iPod and have rebooted to assure that the latest versions are the ones running.
Anyone else experience these? Anyone find solutions?

I'm having very similar problems.
In addition to iTunes becoming completely unusable for a few minutes (completely frozen) when I plug in to sync and recharge, the unit itself seems to periodically hang for more than a few seconds as I navigate the menu.
My podcasts disappear from my iPod classic every time I sync, whether or not I listened to them.
Every once in a while it just shuts off and requires a manual restart to come back on.
The battery seems to drain far faster than what makes sense, and all I do is listen to music. Two hours into my listening time and the battery meter says its almost a quarter drained!
At this point the thing keeps randomly rebooting for no reason when I am using it. Also, as I'm typing this, I heard the click of death from the hard drive.
One thing of note though, I noticed that I had set up LastFM with the thing when I first got it. I doubt it would cause half the issues here, but it is a variable to consider.
I have restored this device three times since it arrived. In addition, I'm finding myself restarting it at least twice if not more per day.
I have put in a request to warranty this thing. This soon after ordering it, and after all the things I've done, my experience screams that this unit is defective. Either that, or Apple is gonna need to issue a recall. I really hope it is just the former.

why not try iStat and provide feedback output
what if any is showing for pageouts?
that would be a star
how much physicalRAM and what of repair the drive? safe boot? tried clone system, or try a clean install and start from there, it can be the best way to resolve or at lea,asr test, and for performing system repairs & maintenance

Flash player loading files very slow and getting stuck after 100%

I have an issue with my development and need your help and feedback for the same:
I have developed various E-Learning courses which was published some in Flash Player 9 and some with version 10. Since Flash Player 10.1 was introduced all my developed courses was running fine. But it's found that user who are using Flash Player 10.1.85.3 is facing issue with file loading and playing the courses. Some time Flash player fails to load the chapters and files after preloading 100%, and sometime it's very slow in loading performance. I like to intimate that all these was not happening with Flash player version 10. Please give me any idea where I am going wrong. Is this kind of issue possible? If anyone faced the same experience. Please give me your valuable feedback.

Data service in area is extremely slow and often unusable.

My phone lately has been showing 1x rather than 3G in this area most times (area code 76380). I have an iPhone 5 and have reset network connections multiple times. I had this problem when I first got my phone last year and was told by Verizon that there was a problem with a tower and that LTE service would be in this area before the end of 2013. This never happened. Can someone please check the service in this area? I have other friends and coworkers that are complaining about their service as well. Thanks.

I have been having the exact same problems as AndriesClaes. Basically, Safari in Yosemite is unusable, spending minutes trying to open simple web pages. It is unbelievable this bug wasn't picked up before release. Having migrated to Mac from Windows NT nearly 10 years ago, each release of the Mac OS is reminding more and more of the joys of Windows in the good old days!! Even the interface is becoming as garish and distasteful as Windows! Perhaps I'll end up back there again. Anyway, I have been through all suggested solutions on the forum here and the ONLY trick that worked was switching to version 7.1 (User Agent) from the Developer options on the menu bar. There is clearly something very wrong with version 8.0. I prefer Safari over all other browsers, for the Reading List amongst other things. Please fix ASAP!
