ITunes - Sort by Checked/Unchecked songs

I don't actually spend a lot of time in iTunes, just load up the party shuffle and let it go, however, I'm wondering if I'm being dense.
I can't find any way to sort or find my songs by their "Checked" status. Does this feature exist?

That feature doesn't exist, but you can create a smart playlist to find only checked or unchecked songs.
I recently posted it in another topic:

Hope this helps.

  • How the Heck to Check & Uncheck Songs

There is a box next to the song name that can be checked and unchecked. How do you do this and where is the commands and file menu for this.
Am I missing something that shoud be easy to find?
    thx Much

There might be an other solution, but I solved it by creating 2 smart playlists.
The first one called 'Checked', has the following rule:
Artist - does not contain - 123456 (or any other name you're sure is not an artist name)
    Check 'Match only checked songs'
    The second one called 'Unchecked':
Playlist - is not - Checked
Using the Browser and the Search Bar, you can find and manage checked/unchecked songs, podcasts, audiobooks and videos.

  • How to check uncheck songs in itunes

how do I key stroke to check and uncheck songs in itunes

To check or uncheck all boxes on a Mac with one click, hold down the Command (cmd) key and click on one of the checkboxes with the mouse.  You can use this in a library, a playlist or in search results.

  • Itunes will play an unchecked song when it shouldn't, can I change that?

So I've noticed with the newest Itunes, when I'm playing the current song, and I activley uncheck the next upcommig song, Itunes will still play the next song like it's still checked. I've been playing around with it, and it seems that when I uncheck the next song when the current song has less than a minute left playing, the unchecked song will play next (which it never did with previous Itunes versions). If I uncheck the next song when the current song has more than a minute left of play time, then it does skip the unchecked song like it should.
How can I make the next song skip if I uncheck it less than a minute before the current song ends?
This is happening on my Windows 7 desktop in Itunes version 11.0.1.12 in the main library, if that helps at all.

The simplest way to remove the song is to remove it from the Up Next list.
Click on the Up Next icon and when you hover the cursor over the song, you will see an X appear to the left of the song. Click on the X to remove it.

  • Why is Itunes is still syncing unchecked songs to my iPhone

    Hello,
I have tried and checked everything I can think of. I have selected in my iPhone summary in iTunes to only sync checked songs and videos, i have unchecked what I do not want on my iPhone and then I sync however nothing changes and I still have most of the songs on my iPhone 5 which is really annoying as I don't want to have to create a playlist of the songs I want I generally just put it on shuffle and let it play. Please help!
I have tried backing up to my Macbook air and iCloud but this doesn't help either. I have turned iCloud back up off on my iPhone too and in the music settings on my iPhone I have turned off Show all music but this doesn't help either.
    Any suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks!

This must be a bug , Yes?

  • Sorting by checked/unchecked

I just unchecked a few hundred tracks that my wife would not want on her iPod. Is there a way to isolate those, like a search?

Going through songs looking for checkmarks is tedious. Plus, they are going to get skipped in your main library when you are playing music in iTunes.
Syncing playlists is the way to go.
Just make a playlist of stuff you don't want on it (eg "Keep Off iPod"), then create and sync a smart playlist with one criteria: "not in playlist 'Keep Off iPod'". That or as noted above uncheck "Keep Off iPod"'s contents and sync only checked. Either works easily.

  • Itunes on Windows plays one song from library and stops

I am a new ipod owner and new to itunes. Loaded many CD's, videos and audiobooks without difficulty into itunes 6.0.4.2. Library of songs is extensive but trying to play songs from library results in itunes playing ONLY one selected song. I must re-select another song in order to play another. It will not continue to play the songs in the library. I have re-installed itunes and that did not correct the problem. Also tried selecting multiple songs and still itunes only plays the 1st song of the list. Obviously I've done something wrong or have not done something that is required. I've check all I know and have also not found this problem in the discussion groups. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

This'll happen when all of the checkboxes are unchecked. iTunes will only play unchecked songs if they are directly clicked.
To check all songs, ctrl+check one.

  • Can you check/uncheck multiple songs in iTunes for syncing to iPod?

In a previous reply to this question, the answer given was that you can use Command apple key to uncheck or check groups of iTunes songs for syncing.
    Actually this does not work.
Apple Commmand only gives you the possibility to check or uncheck the ENTIRE list of iTunes.. unless I am completely mad.
There must be a way to select say 5 songs from an album and check/uncheck them all at the same time. So that you can make a fresh selection of songs each time you sync to an iPhone or iPod
I simply cannot believe that iTunes is so dumb that this option is not available...
ie what one needs to be able to do is highlight x number of songs at a time and then check or uncheck them as you go through the iTunes list to make a fresh syncing selection
I hope this can be answered

This is EXACTLY the point at which I get stuck - what is the actual key command for Right Click - it is not Alt Click or any combination, and looking for his in the iTunes help does not yield a result.
Please give me that actual key stroke combination to effect this last operation: I have always been able to select multiple tracks in the way you describe with Shift - but how to actually CHECK and UNCHECK a selection.. once the tracks are selected
Would much appreciate the answer to this

  • Checking or unchecking songs on itunes

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to select/check or uncheck songs in itunes. When I sync my ipod, sometimes I only want to update certain songs, and going through and checking/unchecking all of the songs is literally impossible and too time consuming.
    Thanks for any suggestions!
    Jen

It's easier to manage your music using playlists instead of checking/uncheckng songs.
Create playlists and add/delete from those playlists.
Select the iPod in iTunes, click on the Music tab.
Tick Sync music and Sync selected playlists.

  • Sorting by checked songs

    Hello,
I am wanting to sort my itunes music libary by the songs that are checked, so all checked songs are at the top, and all unchecked are at the bottom.
Is there anyway to do this?

    Nope
I would tell Apple you would like this feature though...
    iPod Feedback
One way around this though is to make smart playlists. You could make a playlist of songs with only checked songs and one playlist of unchecked songs.
For the playlist of checked songs, go to File-->new smart playlist and set it like this...
    Name it Checked Songs
Make another smart playlist set like this...
    You can choose the name
You can put both of these in a folder in iTunes and then have in the folder a playlist of checked songs, and a playlist of songs that are not checked.
You would get something like this...

  • Checking more than one song at a time without automatically checking every song in iTunes

I'm trying to check a group of songs at the same time.  But when I highlight the songs I want, and then command+click the checkbox, it checkmarks ALL the songs in iTunes.  Is there any way to only check the songs I've highlighted?  I can't believe no one thought of this.  As it is right now, I have to individually check the songs that I want to play, which is a pain.

Highlight all the songs you want with the command + click method, then right click on any one song in the list and choose "check selction" which will automatically read "uncheck seletcion" of the songs you hlight are checked.

This is good for me but what happened?
I don't understand the question...  Did something happen that you think should not have happened?
It took such a long time to sync, because iTunes was converting songs with bit-rate higher than 128 kbps "on the fly" while syncing.  That takes much longer than just syncing the songs.
Also, since you have so much space on your iPod (compared to the size of your music library), you should not use that "convert to 128 kbps AAC" setting.  For songs that are encoded higher than 128 kbps, the conversion reduces sound quality.  You may want to uncheck Sync Music and Apply, to remove the songs on the iPod currently, and then sync it all again without the "convert" setting checked this time.

  • Unchecked songs in iTunes they are still on my phone

I unchecked songs in my itunes library that I dont want on my phone. In the options i clicked sync only checked songs/videos. But the songs are still on my iphone. How do I get them off?

I'm simply trying to get enough space to update my 5s because of the whole thing where you're phone needs room to install an update. I deleted over 100 songs off of my iPhone while in iTunes on my computer. I decided to sync to see if it would show up, but all that did was add the apps from other people's devices in my house. Then I disconnected and my phone froze. I plugged it back in, got the apple logo and it loaded again, but still it showed 825 songs on my iPhone while according to iTunes, I have 666 songs on my iPhone. What do I do?
All I wanted was to update my iPhone but as usual, Apple makes things 10x more complicated than they need to be.
Apple isn't making this 10x more complicated you are.
If you deleted the music why are you syncing back apps from other user on your computer?
Have you tried deleting the music directly from your phone and then update over the air?

  • How to mass check or uncheck songs to be synchronized?

Holiday songs are a good example of songs some may wish to have on their iPod part of the year. I use the check/uncheck feature to have them loaded on the iPod only when I want them there. By doing this, I don't have to listen to Christmas music when going into shuffle mode. QUESTION: is there a way to mass check or uncheck a group of songs instead of doing each song one at a time? My searching has come up empty on this point.

    Hello Meffley,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Not sure if there is way to accomplish what you are asking.
However, I can tell you that you can set these Christmas songs to "Skip when shuffling" by enabling this option for these tracks in iTunes. Just highlight all the songs you wish to have skipped when shuffling (to highlight multiple songs at once, hold down the Control key), right->click on them and choose "Get Info" from the Menu. When the window pops up, head over to the Info tab. Make sure there is a tick mark next to "Skip when shuffling." Lastly, sync the updated changes to your iPod.
When you wish to hear these songs in Shuffle Mode, go ahead and remove the tick mark and again sync the updated changes to your iPod.
