Itunes starting, updating, then crashing

Every time I try to open itunes, it opens and a thinking bar pops up saying "updating library" and then it says itunes encountered a problem and needs to close. ive tried to repair and reinstall it, and the same problem occurs. any suggestions?

Connect your iPad to your computer and let iTunes back up your iPad. After it does that disconnect it and go into your settings under general and under reset and select erase all content. After you do that reconnect to your computer, open iTunes and follow the screen options to set up your iPad as new. Once it is done doing that see if you have the latest version of iOS installed and if it does then either download gain the apps you had before or restore them from the backup made previous.

ITunes stuttering and then crashing on podcast files, after 7.6.1 update

After upgrading (why do I bother) to 7.6.1 all podcasts 1)fail to move beyond 0:00 in the time track 2)stutter/skip initially or seconds in 3)then crash completely (do you really want me to keep sending Microsoft error reports?).
Vodcasts don't run at all, and all AAC and streamed music work normally. I might go test this with other than AAC formats as this is a common link.
Any other similar cases out there?

I would like to get a crash log from you.
1. Navigate in Windows Explorer to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\
Note: In order to see the Application Data folder, you may have to Show hidden files and folders in the View tab of Folder Options (From the Tools menu in Windows Explorer).
2. If you see a Dr Watson folder, open it, and delete all the files inside. If you don't see a Dr Watson folder, don't worry about it.
3. Choose Run from the Windows Start Menu.
4. Type in cmd and press Return.
5. In the window that appears, type in drwtsn32 -i and press Return.
6. Recreate the conditions that cause the crash.
7. Navigate back to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\
There should be a file in that folder now labeled "drwtsn32.log"
Attach that file to an email to me, and also include a link to this thread on Apple Discussions.

Itunes hang and then crash

I'm having the following event occur 3-8 times a day. Itunes hangs. Then the entire computer hangs. No spinning beach ball. Cursor moves, but no windows are being updated. Nor does clicking on anything do anything. After 3-5 min of this, eventually Itunes crashes, and then the remaining programs do a spinning beach ball for the next several minutes. I don't use any of the Itunes feature except to play music. After the crash, Console reveals the following:

Any ideas? I tried to file a formal report with Apple Support, but they no longer recognize my computer's serial number.

Scrabble HD app starts and then crashes

I purchased the Scrabble HD app - 10 bucks. It starts up and then crashes immediatly. I deleted and downloaded it again - same things. Anyone have any other suggestions.

Error (-50) occurs as soon as iTunes starts updating my iPod

Hi.
Whenever I attach my iPod to my PC and iTunes opens, a window asks me to put the "iPod name" as it would do if I was using my iPod for the first time. After that a message says an error occured and then any music I tray to transfer to iPod fails to do it, and the former songs on my iPod are not shown at the iPod icon on iTunes.
I´ve already tried the "5R's" and many other things, such as trying to use some different versions of iTunes and iPod softwares. I would really appreciate if someone colud help me solving this problem. My iPod is the 20Gb Photo.

Disk write -69 generally refers to a specific file in your iTunes, that is not able to be copied to and played on your iPod. Try updating the iPod and watching the progress at the top, and see which file(s) is/are causing the issue. Try erasing them from your iPod library (click on the file and hit the delete button on your keyboard) and then try to update your iPod again. If you feel like you're getting the issue on more files than you ought to be, or if it doesn't get past the first file every time you erase the file, you might want to try following the steps in this article, and then updating the iPod again.

Also, as a side note... on Toshiba's, the iPod generally performs better if the iPod is connected to the USB port on the side of the computer than one of the ones in the back.

Updater keeps telling me to update-then crashes iPod

When I plug in my iPod mini, I get an update to 1.4 message. I click OK. It runs...then my Mini disappears from iTunes. But it still says do not disconnect. I quit iTunes. Then my Mini shows a folder with an exclamation mark. I restart iTunes, the mini appears again-and so does the updater. I say OK to the updater, and the whole problem repeats.
I don't know what to do. Help please.

I came to that conclusion as well and tried it. But more importantly (for anyone else who may have done this) I had my Mini connected via firewire. Normally not a problem. I have a 30GB iPod as well and I use it for that. However, when I tried connecting my Mini via USB. all worked well. I put a piece of tape over my firewire-pod cable with a note to self...don't use for Mini!

Post-iTunes 11 update, system crash and lost preferences

About two hours after updating to iTunes 11 my Macbook Pro on Snow Leopard (latest update), for the first time ever, got a fatal system crash that forced a reboot. After rebooting a lot of my preferences were gone/reset including my home wifi connection. Even after telling my Mac to save the connection it lost it again the next morning. I am blaming iTunes 11 because it was the only thing that changed on my Mac and I have never experienced such a fatal crash before.
Has anyone else experienced a crash after updating?
And more importantly, is Apple going to address the issues with the update or have any suggestions for my persistant perferences loss?

I'm trying to update VS to Update 5 CTP 2. Update then crashes.

I'm downloading the update from the
VS website.
I'm then shown this.
"Setup detected an issue during the operation. Please click below to check for a solution and help us improve the setup experience. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available."
So it doesn't give me an error really. I know this isn't much to work on, but I'm just trying to update it so I can run my program on my laptop.

My ipod on my iphone has been replaced by "music" but now it will not play- it started and then crashed after a few seconds- now my music is blank

Please help, I have installed Icloud on my iphone 4 and now I cannot play any music, my ipod has been replaced by a music file and it jammed after a few seconds of play- after downloading back from icloud. The music is there somewhere becuase it streams in my car but on the phone the screen is blacnk and I have no controls.

Delete the music in your iTunes library, then go to iTunes store, Quick Link, 'Purchased' to redownload again.

On windows PC, itunes starts up then immediately shuts down

Try holding down CTRL+SHIFT immediately after clicking the iTunes icon. Keep holding until you get this dialog box. If you don't get this try again.
You may find that if iTunes opens in safe mode you can close it and then reopen normally.

Itunes and skype keep crashing

since installing the latest security update and latest iTunes now cannot open iTunes at all and Skype starts up then crashes very soon after start up. I have run permission repair and restarted still happening. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

you can go to utilities, disc utilities, run disc verify. If you come up with a red message, run disc repair, if disc repair is greyed out you will need to use the original install disc. power down the mac put the disc in the slot, power up the mac push the disc in, hold the "C" key till the gear stops turning release the keys and wait and do a re-install. All your data will still be there,see if this works. If not post again and someone will take the next step into library...etc.

ITunes 9.1 - various crashes on opening or playback

i updated to iTunes 9.1.
i'm on a MB Pro 13,3 - 2,53GHz - 4GB - 10.6.3.
Its impossible to play any audio files, iTunes hangs right after start and then crashes. Here is a part of the error-log:

I have the same problem. iTunes will last 3 minutes for me until a freeze and then it crashes. This seems to be the same problem as 9.0.0 had (9.0.1 fixed it)! It has to do with iTunes using the Internet — the network part of iTunes. Is iTunes in the middle of or starting to downloading (like automatic podcasts or) something when it crashes for any of you?
My solution that I figured out with the last time this happened was to:
Before launching iTunes, turn off AirPort or the however you get your Internet.
Then start iTunes.
Then after a minute or so, just to be safe, turn the Internet back on. Do not use the Store or download any podcasts and iTunes will continue to function as normal, playing or syncing with your iPod.
I tried turning the home sharing and related stuff off, that fixed the problem previously, but it does not work this time around. This is on an iMac G5 with 10.5.8 and all updates applied. I am continually looking and working on a fix for this. Let me know if this is the exact same problem any of you have.

This kind of issue might be caused by incompatible add-ons or corruption during update.
Reset Internet Explorer then check the issue again.
