ITunes starts again after disconnecting iPhone4

Hi y'all,
When I connect my iPhone to my computer (for synching / charging the battery) iTunes will start automatically.
So far, so good.
But when the work is done (synching / charging the battery) and I disconnect the iPhone and disable iTunes by just clicking the 'X' (above right of the window) then iTunes starts all over again spontaneously.
Can anybody explain what's the use of that ?
thx in advance,
Jim

May I conclude that there is no solution on this issue, or is this question just too silly to be answered?
Anyhow, the problem still exists and it's becoming pretty annoying, so please anyone for a solution?

  • Wireless Guest Users once authenticated, are able to connect again after disconnection

Wireless Guest Users once authenticated, are able to connect again after disconnection .Clients should not able to connect after the restart or by disabling and enabling the WIFI adapter. But as of now clients are connecting to network . How we can configure this feature in WLC ?

IIRC, if your reboot, disable the adapter or disconnect from the wireless, as long as the session timer or the idle timer does not timeout, then you are still considered as authenticated. If you logout, the wlc logs you off and you will have to log back in. The wierd thing is with iPhones or iPads, they go to sleep mode and you have to log back in to access the guest network. The workaround was to increase the idle timers to a certain acceptable limit to prevent this from happening.
If you disconnect from the guest SSID and leave your client off the network until the idle timer expires, do you get prompted for a login or do you have access again?

  • Can't start up after disconnect ethernet network of 2 macs

I tried conecting 2 macs via ethernet. Personal file sharing was turned on with both. Printer sharing seemed not to work, so that was disabled on both. Ethernet cable from systems to router connected to cable modem. Seemed to work well for my purpose -- access to second drive on old 733 G4.
Before I disconnected the ethernet cable, I turned off file sharing on both machines. They seemed to run fine after disconnect. Then turned off the G4.
I left the iMac running with some software active for one day while away from home. Returned to see blank screen. Moved trackball to wake from what I thought was display sleep but nothing happened.
Install disk (10.4.4) will start up machine, but cannot install to the internal drive since it is not seen. Disk Utility shows drive, but no volume to repair disk.
My question: Can I start up my iMac in a way to bypass looking for a network startup and see the internal drive?

"Target Mode will only work with ATA disks"
No, that is not correct, also works with SATA, which is in all Intel Macs. However, I think I recall that both computers need to be updated to the same Mac OS X version, such as 10.4.6

    Back to attempting normal startup:
hold down the "option" key instead of the x key above, and hold until the disk option you want to select appears. From my experience, the iMac Intel will show the startup disc choices quickly, within less than a minute under normal conditions, much quicker than the G5's.

  • Kernel Panics starting again after long break

About 3 months ago i experienced a lot of random Kernel Panics and after trying all sorts of solutions the only thing that solved it was a total reinstall of my Tiger 10.3 with a zero out data on the Tiger reinstall. I did a copy (using SuperDuper) of my HD onto a external Firewire disk, and then copied that back afterwards.
Now it's starting again. I have Tiger 10.4.4 and have KP's almost every day. The latest looks like this (no periphals at all). Can anyone out there decipher the KP Log?:

    Hi Flemming--
    thanks for your reply.
I don't know if its the graphics system, coz' the
other day i had a KP that said:
Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with
    dependencies):
    com.apple.iokit.AppleAirPort2(404.2)@0x65c000
    dependency:
    com.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily(1.5.0)@0x526000
    dependency:
    com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(1.7)@0x479000
    om.apple.iokit.IONetworkingFamily(1.5.0)@0x526000
    - which made me suspecious about the Airport card or
something. But it's kinda random what the log says
and the only repeating line i see is:
    " dependency:
    com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(1.7)@0x479000".
So i'm still in doubt here.
You're right, it's probably not the graphics system if the other lines change. But if they always show the IOPCIFamily, it could be a logic board problem or a bad stick of RAM. If you have extra RAM, you could try swapping RAM around and see if that fixes the problem.
    And for the Apple
hardware Test - everybody is talking about that but i
never could find that on any CD's i've had from Apple.
It depends on how old your computer is. The Apple Hardware Test for my PowerBook (Oct 2006) is on the "PowerBook G4 Mac OS X 15-inch and 17-inch Install Disc 1". It's referred to on the lower left side of the disc as "AHT 2.5.2", but the directions in the upper right refer to it as Apple Hardware Test: "To use Apple Hardware Test , hold down the option key as the computer starts up."
For my iMac G5, it's on another disc labelled "Additional Software & Apple Hardware Test". In the more distant past, I remember it coming on a completely separate CD, and the CD had a silver label, not the usual gray ones of the OS restore discs that came with the computer. But I'm not sure how long ago that's been.
    best,
    charlie

  • Song starts again after a few seconds

    Just noticed a strange one...
My iPhone 5 is syncing music and I'm playing something else on it while this is happening. Sometimes, a track will start and several seconds into it, it will start again from the beginning. The display shows the name of the previous track and I have to press forward to get the track to play properly.
The song I'm playing is from an album that has already synchronised.
    -Dan

Get over this, it happens to me too, all the time. Also when adding lyrics.
When you add artwork to an mp3-type file, the size will increase. And depending on iTune's mood with Windows at the time, it might stop.
So just hit pause and then play again, and your song should go.

  • Start again after presentation

when I am at the last slide and I want to start the whole presentation again from the start, I have to manually scroll all my slides to no. 1 in order to start a new presentation!
    There must be something wrong!
Even if I go to keynote presentation window. where all the presentations folders are, when I douple tap a presentation, it shows me the last slide I of my previous presentation.
there must be a rseset somewhere, but I can not find it.
I find it quite troublesome to scroll up those masses of slides just to start again.

    Hi Aldo,
The setting of restartable doesn't matter in this case.
If the database is down when the job is supposed to run then the job will run when the database comes back up.
There is one exception, if you set schedule_limit to a non-NULL value and the
    database_start_time - requested_job_start_time > schedule_limit
then that job run will be skipped (the schedule_limit is an upper limit on how late the scheduler is allowed to run the job).
The restartable flag only comes into play when a job fails or the database is shutdown while running a job. The restartable flag says whether the job should be restarted immediately ( or as soon as the database starts up again).
Hope this helps. There is a forum dedicated to the Scheduler here

  • Cant download LION on slow internet. Starts over after disconnection.

Currently deployed to Africa with USAF. Hard drive crashed on old white macbook. Installed new drive and reinstalled original Snow Leopard. Fully updated all software.
Went to app store to download Lion. I can download approx 1 GB per day on slow internet. Each time my laptop is disconnected from the internet and I reconnect later, Lion starts its download from ZERO.
I "pause" it and it says "780mb downloaded" etc.... I come back the next day and it starts all over again from zero bytes.
    Help!
I wouldn,t care so much being stuck with Snow Leopard, except my personal USB drive is encrypted with Lion so I cant access it right now.
    -Bryan

Ok, after some more mucking about I have made some progress. By changing MTU to 100 I can get pages to load, albeit slowly. At least now I can post about this from my main box ;-).
I have noticed the following things:
    - With MTU 100 pages load, but my adsl broadband is about as slow as an old modem. I get about 1Kbps on ftp downloads. After ~200K the transfer stalls.
    - When using aMule i notice that my eth0 monitor (in superkaramba) indicates outward traffic of about 20 Kbps, eventhough aMule itself only indicates 5Kbps being transferred.
    - When I ping my router by doing "ping 192.168.0.1" I have about 10% packet loss. This does not happen on my laptop.
So, I'm stuck with the following questions:
    - Why does my internet grind to a halt when I use MTU>1000?
    - Why do my downloads halt after ~100K?
    - Where do I start looking for differences in my LAPTOP setup, which works fine, and my MAIN BOX, which does not?

  • Syncing with iTunes slow again, after installing iTunes 8.1.0.52

Hi. I once experienced really slow backups (during Syncing), which I think was fixed by updating my iPhone 3G's firmware. I have not had a slow backup for a long time.
I now have the lastest firmware version (2.2.1, just checked for updates through iTunes), and I recently upgraded iTunes to the latest version, 8.1.0.52.
Since upgrading iTunes to 8.1.0.52, the backup suddenly started taking a very long time again (over 30 minutes), and sometimes it seems like it will never end so I cancel it.
I tried doing "Run Diagnostics..." in iTunes, and it ran through reasonably quickly, and then reported that everything was OK, which it isn't.
Is this a known issue with 2.2.1 and 8.1.0.52?
Or, is there some way that I can "debug" what is making my backup take so long?

same thing here after updating iTunes. 5(!) hours....

  • Random Shutdowns Started Again After Fix - Some Questions for Others

    ::sigh::
After a very prompt repair followed by 3 weeks of constant use with no problems, tonight I had another random shutdown. (Here we go again.) I never was able to find anyone at Apple who could tell me what they fixed (it was not a logic board replacement) but apparently it wasn't a permanent fix.
    Some observations and questions:
When random shutdowns start, my "previous shutdown code" in the system log changes to -72, and continue to register as -72 even when I shutdown the computer myself. During the period when the system was working after the repair, shutdown codes were always 0s or 3s. Have others noticed the same pattern? In my experience, once that first negative code appears, it doesn't change back to normal, regardless of how the computer is turned off (except after the repair).
Also, tonight was the first time since my repair that I used the 3-prong power cord with the AC adapter (rather than just the two prong). Could there be any connection (perhaps a faulty cord sendinga surge to the system and damaging something)? During the last round, shutdowns occurred whether on AC power or battery, but I'm wondering if the use of that cord may have triggered the problem in the first place. Has anyone that has had random shutdowns never used the 3-prong cord at all?
The other thing I've noticed is that importing digital camera photos into iPhoto often seems to trigger shutdowns (not all of them, but some of them). My random shutdown tonight happened after editing photos I'd just imported from my camera (and right after I ejected and unplugged the camera). Could the connection to the camera somehow cause a problem? Has anyone who has had random shutdowns NOT connected a digital camera or used iPhoto?
Just grasping at straws here to try to figure out what causes this problem (since apparently Apple hasn't figured it out yet). Looks like I'm going to have to take it back again. I love my MacBook better than any PC I've ever had, but I never had these kind of hardware problems with my PCs (and if I did have a problem it was usually pretty simple to troubleshoot and repair).

I think you're confused, it's not as simple as that.
Here's why - I just ran two yes terminal sessions on my wife's MacBook and let it run for 15 minutes. Fan came on, system is running warm but running just fine.
On my RSD MacBook, while I was at the Apple Store, trying to demonstrate the RSD it ran two yes terminals for like 5 minutes and kept running however when I closed Terminal - wham RSD.
It IS NOT heat related. Most likely the system "thinks" there's a heat problem by a bad sensor, wire whatever.
If I can't run my MacBook at 100% (actually 200%, both cores) for as long as I need then it is defective and should be returned to Apple.
When my MacBook was working I ran EVN (Escape Velocity NOVA) which runs under Rosetta, man that thing sucked the battery dry in less than 60 minutes and the system got pretty warm too. BUT IT KEPT running and didn't shut down. When my system was acting up I couldn't even browse the Apple web site and ut would shutdown.
    Greg
PS I installed the SMC update a week before my system started having RSD.

  • Garbled (skipping) songs on iPod and iTunes back again after upgrade

I orginally posted about this back in September. Some of my songs all of a sudden became garbled or were skipping on both my iPod and in iTunes. The CD's don't skip. At that time a new version on iTunes was available and some iPod genious in this forum asked me to upgrade. Once I upgraded to the latest version it fixed the problem. All my songs went back to normal. BUT SINCE THEN, a new version on iTunes came out again. When I upgarded, the garbled songs and skipping came back. I'm figuring that this is an iTunes problem since upgrading to new versions made the problem go away and come back.
Has anyone found a solution to this? Can someone help me?

I'm having problems with mine as well. Mine studders through songs every so often. I haven't found an answer to that yet.

04/04/2007 04:00 - Job should run, but db is down
    04/04/2007 06:00 - Db startup
??/??/???? ??:?? - When will the job run?
What happen at the job, when will it be executed, will it be broken and failures increased?
