ITunes still random skipping

Since Apple has locked the original "Random Skipping" thread I'll start a new one. I tried their fix and it does not work. When I responded that it still did not work I received a message asking me to verify that my computer meets the minimum requirements. I have an HP dv5000 with 2GB and an Intel T2500 Dual Core processor running at 2.00 GHz. Obviously my computer meets the iTunes minimum requirements.

rcb17 - not sure about purchased videos as I haven't purchased any. I use it for video clips on my digi camera (.mov) and pretty much anything else. Its free so its got to be worth a try.
MetalMilitia606x - Nice idea but I'm struggling to get this to work as there a format clash. My itunes tracks show as M4a files and WMP doesn't seem to like them. I could convert them but given I've got 28gb of music I'd rather not. Seems more of a workaround than a solution.
shopson - Think this is the way to go but I'm going to contact the retailer I got the ipod from at Christmas and see how I stand for a refund. I accept the ipod is not faulty but given that it can't be used in the way it was designed owing to what would appear to be a fault in the manufacturers related product, then I think theres probably a case there. I've given the manufacturer an opportunity to address this and they clearly aren't interested. What else can I do.
(Cue the sound of another lock being applied imminently)

  • ITunes 8:  randomly skips a purchased song!

If I try to play one of five recently purchased songs iTunes jumps to a random song instead. When I create a search with just the single song, there is no sound, the counter does not advance, but the play count goes crazy as if playing a zero length file over and over. Found another, older song with same symptom.
Off hand I'd say it's a corrupt file. How do I get a refund?

Do you have automatic downloads turned on? (on the Mac)
"doesn't give me access to anything like the icloud icons to download the album"
Turn them on, they are off by default,

Don't panic. OS X 10.5.8 is the most popular PowerPC OS out there. People run it everyday without security breaches, including myself. It isn't Windows!
If you're really that worried, I highly recommend Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac Home Edition. Supports PowerPC & Intel and Mac OS X 10.4-10.7.

  • My ipod and itunes both are skipping to another song about in the middle of the song. It doesn't happen on all songs...only some songs. I have reset the ipod, I have done a restore, I have reloaded itunes, I have updated the ipod but still am unable fix

My ipod and itunes both are skipping to another song about in the middle of the song. It doesn't happen on all songs...only some songs. I have reset the ipod, I have done a restore, I have reloaded itunes, I have updated the ipod but still am unable to figure out why. It did not used to do this. I can't figure out any pattern to the songs it does it on versus that it doesn't do it on. Some of the songs are purchased, some are imported, etc. We are running Windows 7.

how long have you had your ipod? mine did the same but after a while you need to get a new one because of the battery...

  • ITunes still pauzes randomly running Leopard, even after 7.5 upgrade.

    Hi,
My iTunes randomly pauzes songs. It mostly playes for about 30 seconds and then it pauzes.
I've tried to reinstall, remove plug-ins and scripts, but still the pausing remains.
Anybody experiencing the same thing, or did this go away with 7.5 (I know people had this problem with 7.4 after Leopard upgrade).
    Please advise.

Aparently I was too hasty with my conclusion:
iTunes still pauses 'randomly'. Although I think I found when it goes wrong. Everytime I play a song after a few seconds I can here the processor working harder, at this time iTunes or Leopard is changing the iTunes database files in the iTunes folder. When it is done 'updating' them iTunes pauses the song. I don't see how we can fix this one...

  • HT1349 iTunes randomly skips hlaf a song in the middle of playing them, how do I change this?

While playing a song, iTunes randomly skips to the next song. This only happens with cirtian songs and I'm using a pc if that makes a difference. Is there a setting somewhere where I can turn this action off? This does not happen with my other computer.
Can someone explain why this is happening and how I can it to stop doing that? Thanks

Now, is it synced via wireless or USB?
When I upgraded my 4 to iOS 7, I had that very problem. The phone said all my music was on it, but when I tapped on a song, it would show the icon as though it was playing and after a couple if seconds, it would skip to the next song.
Here's what I did: Reconnect and do another sync. Or, back-up your phone, do a restore and then trying syncing your files again.
    I hope this helps

  • ITunes Randomly Skipping to Next Track

Just upgraded to the latest iTunes (9.0.3), and every single one of my songs skips.
Mostly happening around the 10 second mark, but it has been completely random also. The song displays the full length, but will randomly skip to the next track. I have been able to drag to anywhere in any song and have it play, but sometime it will skip randomly after that.
I have never had this issue before, and have not found a solution. After exhaustive searching, I have found that this was a bug in iTunes 7, especially for Windows. Since neither of these things is true for me, I am very confused.
Nobody has yet provided a functional solution to this ridiculous problem, and other threads of this type have been locked.
I would like somebody to either give me a working solution, or for Apple to admit that it is a problem and release a patch, instead of locking threads and pretending it doesn't happen.

    Hi Dakota--
This is not a universal problem. For example, my iTunes will play for hours and hours and it will never skip.
I noticed in some posts you made to the other, already answered, thread that your iTunes library is on an external drive. And that you've had some problems with the files where you get error -36, which is a disk I/O error.
That could be caused by a problem with the external drive or the FireWire cable. First thing I would do is try a different FireWire cable. Also make sure the cable is seated firmly in both the computer and the drive.
If that doesn't help, post back and I'll help you see if we can figure out if there's a problem with the external drive.

  • Music keeps randomly skipping

ok so i've been having this issue where my music just skips randomly  it would start fine and then it would randomly skip to like the middle of the song. i close music app restart it and still happens i have to restart my phone for it to got back to normal and not skip anymore. anyone else having this issue and knows how to fix it?

    Hello RapidRampage245,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
There are several troubleshooting steps to try if songs are skipping randomly on your iPhone.
If only certain songs skip, try deleting and downloading them again (if they're from the iTunes store), or re-importing and re-syncing them. The steps in these articles can help:
Download past purchases - Apple Support
iOS: Songs or other audio content are skipped during playback - Apple Support
If the issue continues, or if all of the songs skip randomly, you may need to back up the data on your iPhone and restore iOS to factory settings. You can find detailed instructions at this link:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support

  • Random Skipping / Stuttering of Tracks MBP

I use a 15" MBP and the songs in my iTunes library would randomly skip for a second or so before resuming play. This would happen randomly (doing intensive/non-intensive stuff) and viewing "Activity Monitor" reveals that when this happens, a spike in the HDD read (the red line in the graph) occurs.
I tried repairing the permissions using batchmod but it still doesn't seem to work, anyone knows whats the problem?

    Fixed in the latest version.

I try to delete my history on safari which it does but still random websites keep showing up when i type a letter "g" for google as if I had just visited that page...I believe it just started doing it since the latest update. How can I fix it?

If you regulalry back up your phones in itunes, and havent backed up your phone since this happed, then connect to itunes, click on the restore button under the summary tab and restore your phone from your back up. Then turn on private browsing after thats done.

  • The mouse on my computer randomly skips and at times freezes. What's happening with it?

Why does my mouse randomly skip or freeze?

Unless your mouse is about 3 feet from your mac pro then magic mice are notorius with these kind of problems on mac pro's.
Here's a long thread on this problem:
Poor Bluetooth reception and jerky mouse
Summary, replace the internal bluetooth antenna with an external antenna or use a BT dongle.
Other reported problems with MM in general is batteries loosing contact depending on the make of batteries.
Google "skipping magic mouse" or "jumpy magic mouse" and look at More Like This on the right side of this page.
    Update:
AAARRRGGGHHH   Just realized your profile said iMac but you posted in the mac pro forums.  Still look at the More Like This threads.  For iMacs you could have the battery loosing connection problem or even interference.

  • Why is my radio randomly skipping songs?

Hi, my ITunes radio is randomly skipping songs, without me touching the screen. I have wiped off the screen, and there is nothing on it. I have tried resetting it from the Lock/Unlock button, and the home button, but that didn't work. There is a small scratch at the top of my screen, but it has been there for a while, and hasn't effected my phone before. I hope someone can help me with this problem.
                                                                                    Thanks,
                                                                                                Quinnyjoe

    Hi Quinnyjoe,
Don't worry, there's nothing physically wrong with your phone. My radio stations on iTunes Radio worked fine on iOS 8.2. But, on iOS 8.3, I too am experiencing the multiple song skipping issue (with titles showing for split second and changing continuously, until resuming play on a random track). Although I only experienced it last night (on iPhone, haven't tried on Mac) and am not experiencing the issue as of this morning (at least until now didn't). I think, it's either an OS bug or something's wrong online on Apple's end. In any case, it has either already been fixed or should be fixed in coming days.
    Hope this helps

  • ITunes still crash

    Hi!
It is the second time I update iTunes, 11.1.4 and 11.1.5, and iTunes still crash randomly... As I guess and I read, I am not the only one suffering this behavior. Please Apple, can you fix this... it is quite a nuisance.
    Thanks!

Are you running Vista?  I just updated to the most recent version using Vista Home Premium and it seizes up.
"iTunes has stopped working, Windows is searching for the problem" -  Then a window pops up saying that Windows has discovered that an update (fix) for iTunes is available and to click the link to update.  Well, of course there is no update as I am using the latest version. I tried uninstalling, re-installing, to no avail then found an older version of iTunes, tried that but sorry....now that doesnt work either because "iTunes cannot read blah blah blah file because it came from a newer version of iTunes".  I still havent found a solution.

  • Itunes still syncing but ipod has finished. WHY?

well the problem all started when my ipod had that audio problem [skipping random songs, skipping in the middle of songs, not playing songs at all] and i've restored it.
now the songs are perfectly fine and do not random skip. however, it takes an extremely long time to sync in just merely 9 songs or 2 videos into the ipod. in fact, it doesnt even sync - the itunes does not respond and the mac hangs on me. this leads to me disconnecting my ipod the improper way which is bugging me constantly every time i see the "improper device removal" pop-up.
i've restored it several times and currently i cannot put any new songs or vids or pics inside because the itunes hangs completely. i suspect its a virus that may have affected my ipod or that one of my songs may be corrupt. but if it is not, what could possibly be the problem and how will i be able to solve it?
    thx.
