Itunes stoped seeing my ipod touch so I uninstaled and reinstalled itunes and now it won't finish opening

iTunes stopped seeing my iPod touch so I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and now it won't finish opening.  It takes a long time but eventually it looks like iTunes has loaded but it never lets me do anything and stays unresponsive. What now?

2 of my movies are no longer working in my iTunes or on my iPod Touch, One doesn't play at all and the other gets to about 29:00 than stops working and I don't want to buy them again. Then also when I added a non-iTunes movie and tried to have iTunes make an iPod/IPhone version it gave me error -4. What's happening to my movies?

I also have to add that the right earbud only doesn't work on my phone while i'm listening to music. If I'm face timing it's okay. what the heck.

  • ITunes 8: cannot detect iPod Touch

    Hi,
Has anyone else had trouble getting iTunes to detect their iPod Touch since upgrading? My sync worked fine previously, but having upgraded to 8.0 this morning iTunes simply refuses to 'see' my iPod Touch. Windows XP still detects it (admittedly, now as a 'Digital Stills Camera'), but nothing from iTunes at all.
Has the Windows driver been changed in some way too? Anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks!

I finally got everything to work. I followed some instructions on another thread. I uninstalled 8.0 and all of it files then reinstalled 7.7. I followed his instructions to the letter. 7.7 was working fine. I then decided to try and update to 8.0. and voila...it has been working fine. No conflict with my cd or dvd and it recognizes my ipod. I am posting the other information below. Sorry I can't just link...I don't know how.
    Good Luck

Hello, and welcome to the forums. For future reference, I'd recommend creating your own post so that way you can get accurate information quickly. If you'd prefer to downgrade iTunes rather than work out the issues with iTunes 8, I can offer you some insight. If you'd like to try to work out the issue with iTunes 8, I'd suggest creating a new thread with the results of your iTunes Network Diagnostics so we can take a look at what's going on.
To obtain your network diagnostics, click your Help menu and choose Run Diagnostics.
To downgrade iTunes, this is my (personal) recommended method. I upgraded 7.something to 8 and then went back to 7.7 on my Windows XP machine. (No real reason, other than to see if it could be done).
    1. Remove all iTunes-related Software
Go to your Control Panel and open Add/Remove Programs
    Remove the following:
    -Apple Mobile Device Support
    -Apple Software Update
    -Bonjour
-iPod for Windows (it's OK if this doesn't exist)
    -iTunes
    -QuickTime
    2. Make sure they're completely removed
Go to My Computer > C: > Program Files
    Delete these folders:
    -Apple Software Update
    -Bonjour
    -iPod
    -iTunes
    -QuickTime
If any or all of these folders don't exist, it's a good thing.
    3. Delete supporting documents
    Open up My Computer
Go to your Tools menu at the top and select Folder Options
Choose the round option button to "Show Hidden Files and Folders" and then click Apply, then OK
Go to C: > Documents and Settings > your username > Application Data
Delete the folder called "Apple Computer"
Go to C: > Documents and Settings > your username > Local Settings > Application Data
Delete the folders called "Apple" and "Apple Computer"
    4. Prepare your library data files
Go to your My Music folder and open up the iTunes folder inside it
Move the following files to your desktop:
    -iTunes Library.itl
    -iTunes Music Library.xml
    -iTunes Library Extras.itdb
    -iTunes Library Genius.itdb
    5. Restart your computer
    6. Download & install iTunes 7.7
    http://www.brothersoft.com/itunes-116719.html
    -Click the "Download" button
-Click the "Click to Download" link (next to a server number)
    7. Open up iTunes. It will walk you through the setup/configuration process. Make sure that you UNcheck the options to add media (MP3, WMA, AAC) files. Your library should be empty. Click your File menu and choose Import. Select the file "iTunes Music Library.xml" that was placed on your desktop in Step 4. This should put your library and playlists back together for you.
I did not have to re-authorize my computer for my iTunes store purchases, however, if prompted to, you can click your Store menu at the top of the window and choose "Authorize Computer." Once completed successfully, you can delete the iTunes library data files that were placed on the desktop, as they are no longer needed or in use.
    Hope this is helpful

  • HT1351 Only want to see sync songs/artists/albums on iPod touch (not the whole library in iTunes). How to do it?

I only want to see on iPod touch songs/artists/albums manually selected for sync (not the whole library in iTunes). How to do it? Not sync titles appear in grey colour...

So if I understand you correctly, you want to be able to sync only certain songs, artists, and albums correct? If so you can configure this set up from under the iPod's Music configuration tab in iTunes as described in the Syncing Automatically section in the Apple support document you linked in at the top of the page.  Note that you cannot select only certain songs, but you can set it up to sync selected Artists, Genres, and Albums.
If the tab and its configurations are grayed out, it is likely because your iPod is set up for manual management, meaning the manually manage music and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab.

  • New version of iTunes can't sync or see my iPod Touch

I have been using my iPod Touch with iTunes for a few years (PC Windows) then I updated my computer and got the latest version of iTunes. Now, I can't add or delete songs to my iPod Touch. When I try to sync the iPod Touch, songs I've added to the iTunes library don't get added to the iPod Touch. Similar problem with trying to delete songs. I can't even seem to delete them from the I created a new Apple ID and authorised my new computer. My iPod Touch however doesn't appear as a device in iTunes. What do I need to do to get my iPod Touch communicating with this new version of iTunes?

Windows 7 using "MTP USB Device" driver so it recognizes that it's an Apple iPod but iTunes doesn't see it. I have spent the entire day following the "install/ininstall/start AMDS/stop AMDS" instructions ad nauseum...still no love. Frustration maxed out!

  • Ipod touch no longer showing up in itunes after connecting to laptop.

I downloaded itunes on my new laptop that runs windows 7.  Since I hadn't updated itunes on the pc, I connected the ipod to my pc (which runs windows xp). A screen pops up that basically alerts me that I have a digital camera installed.   I have updated the drivers, I have uninstalled and reinstalled windows and it still shows up as a digital camera and still doesn't show up in itunes.  Now, since I initially had the ipod hooked to the new laptop, I am wondering if I did something during the installation and sync on the laptop that has caused a problem on this desk top.   I am completely ignorant when it comes to electronics.  To summarize what I did.
    1. Downloaded itunes onto laptop that runs windows 7.
2.Plugged in lpod touch to laptop and proceed to authorize both computers for itunes.
    3. Made a playlist that didn't sync with ipod.
    4. Went to the desk top(windows xp) and when I plugged ipod in it ask what camera location did I want to run device. That has never happened before.
    5. Went to windows system folder and found the usbaapl. sys folder.
6 From the ipod camera device  I opened the device manager, found the ipod under digital imaging..
7.Right clicked ipod camera and update driver,
8.Checked  install from a list or specefic location.
9.Search for best driver in these locations.  I then UNCHECKEd search removable media.
10.Copied and pasted the driver information in the box and clicked next.
    11.Saw ipod device driver.
After all of that Ipod still shows up as camera and will not sync!!! Help

  • IPod Touch will not show up in iTunes anymore

Hello. I have had my iPod Touch since 2011 and just recently I could not get it to show up in iTunes when I put the USB cable in to sync it. What ends up happening instead is a window appears showing my Apple iPod. I can click it and go into the Internal Storage which only shows my pictures and videos taken with the camera, but no music.
So I tried almost all of the troubleshooting steps here on iTunes support (except for starting all over erasing all songs and data because I am not ready to do that and I do not believe it would do anything with the synchronization process), and unfortunately nothing has worked. I tried the running as admin and compatibility mode and it still just comes up with that window whenever I connect. I ran the diagnostics and the iPod is not showing up (the only red X). I have Windows 8. Is there anything I can do to make iTunes recognize that the iPod is connected to the laptop?

  • IPod Touch wasn't showing up in iTunes (Windows), won't let me restore it.

Ok, so I got a new computer recently, as my old one was decimated by a virus. Yesterday, I tried to connect my ipod touch to the new computer for the first time, but it wasn't showing ip in itunes. I've tried everything in the troubleshooting guide, but nothing there has worked.
I have not, however, tried using a different computer, as the only other one nearby is my old one, and I am hesitant to connect my ipod to it as that computer still has the virus on it.
So today I decided to try restoring my ipod in the hopes that that would do something, but every time it gives me the 1611 error and tells me that my security software is interfering with the process. So I go about updating both the security software (avast and malwarebytes) and my computer, but I still get the same error. When I tried uninstalling the software, it did the same thing.
I'm not sure what else to do at this point. I'm hoping that I just overlooked a step or something like that. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.

DId you also disable the computer's firewall?
