ITunes stopped working. Error 7 (Windows 127)
Suddenly iTunes stopped working.
At first my HP Pavillion showed the message "Error 7 (Windows 127)". I googled it, and found a couple of suggestions. I tried to uninstall iTunes and related program files in the right order, but it didn't work.
Now I get this message, and it doesn't help to uninstall iTunes. I allready tried it several times.
After googling the message above, I tried to open the iTunes setup file with winRAR, but that didn't work either.
Now I get this message:
Something about the procedure point of entry ADAdPolicy... is not found in the DLL-library.
When I click 'OK' I get the same message, as I did to begin with "Error 7 (Windows 127)".
What am I doing wrong?
I've spend more than 10 hours total, solving this problem, so if anyone can help me, there'll be best wishes and happy thoughts send your way
Hi @TroelsDanmark ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Pavilion Notebook and not being able to use ITunes. Can get to safe mode with command prompt? sfc /scannow would scan your system for errors at the command prompt.
Are you downloading ITunes 12.0.1 for Windows ? Current download available here.
Do you have 400MB of available disk space to accommodate the download?
First, try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing again.
You could try this Microsoft fix.
Please let me know how this goes.
Thanks.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
Click the “Kudos, Thumbs Up" on the bottom to say “Thanks” for helping!

- Ideapad can only support the current preloaded hardware and software configuration. Therefore, depending on a specific configuration, it might not be recommended to upgrade your computer. That is because some hardware issues cannot be resolved currently.
It is not recommended to upgrade the following models to Windows® 8.1 because some VGA related issues cannot be solved by the vendor, currently.

Lock computer causes itunes stopped working error
I can repeatedly crash itunes by locking my computer either with a screen saver requiring a password or via ctrl-alt-del "lock my computer". I have tried disabling other applications via MSconfig as suggested on some forums (no changes), verified that Qtime does work properly, and even tried solutions for other symptoms that are reported to cause the same error (e.g. deactivate store/reactivate, etc). I do not have any of the codecs that cause problems with itunes.
The error message is always "itunes stopped working...checking for a solution".
I am running Vista Home Premium SP1 (32bit) on a Dell E1405. Any ideas? You're right - I just validated that -- the problem only occurs when itunes is the top application. Too bad about no response as I use a password protected screen saver on my laptop (for security) and I have the tendency to have itunes on top. I guess I'll have to break this habit until when/if someone solves the bug or creates a workaround.
I'm trying to figure out the mechanism of the failure. Event Viewer tells me its a D3D9.DLL that is failing:
+Faulting application iTunes.exe, version 8.0.2.20, time stamp 0x4925c4fe, faulting module D3D9.DLL, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a65d, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0000ae35, process id 0x119c, application start time 0x01c998fab49455b8.+ -
ITUNES Stopped working error messages?
How do you fix the ITUNES stooped working error message?
How do you fix the ITUNES stooped working error message? I am using Windows 7.
This is a follow to my original question. -
Downloaded 10.5 iTunes and when I put in an audio book to import into iTunes as soon as I begin typing book info notice appears that iTunes has stopped working and windows 7 closes iTunes. Anyone else have this problem? I hate that you have no way to contact these people and report problems. I tried the old feedback but that didn't get anywhere. Please, I've got several audio books to load and I'm not getting anywhere. Thanks
You really need to put your codes between the
[\code] tags
see http://forum.java.sun.com/features.jsp#Formatting
for more infoCode tags might make it look a little better, but there's still too darn much code. We're volunteers, after all. It'd be a lot of work to review all of this stuff. Can you demonstrate your problem with something smaller? Learn out how to do a combo box with just a page or two and then appy that to your big problem. That's how I'd do it. - MOD -
I have Windows 8. Originally iTunes worked fine, then it couldn't update (said it was unsuccessful). Then it stopped working, so I (after much research) tried a long and tiresome method of removing all Apple products and re-installing them. I did this 3 times and it eventually worked and has been working fine for a few months. Recently, when trying to update, it has said "update successful", but when checking for new updates, finds the same one it supposedly just installed, wanting to install it again. For a few weeks now it has not worked at all, saying "error message 7: iTunes was not installed correctly" when I attempt to open iTunes. I can't bring myself to go through the whole process again of uninstalling and reinstalling everything, it took hours and it clearly doesn't solve the problem. I have no idea what the problem is. Reinstalling only iTunes doesn't work. The support pages have no advice available for my crappy version of Windows.
Please help me!For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
It shouldn't really take that long to do, assuming it goes smoothly.

My itunes stopped working on windows 7
whenever i just open itunes .. windows shows me a message telling me that it stopped working " A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.'
thats all i get and the opion is close program ... but then nothing happens ...
really dont know wat to do ...Did you already try what bnoir suggested in this post about error 0x800736FD:
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736FD, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?
This thread might help as well, suggestion provided by bnoir:
In general, these ones tend to be caused by underlying problems on the PC that can prevent Windows Updates from installing. So my main strategy with them is to try to fix the Windows Update issues. If we can get Windows Updates flowing again, that generally clears up the iTunes install errors +en passant.+
Head into your Windows Update, and check for any new updates. Do any fail? If so, open your Update History and doubleclick on the failure entries to bring up a small box with alphanumeric error message codes. Are you getting 8000FFFFs? (They often seem to be associated with an iTunes-install 0x800736FD.)
If you're getting 8000FFFFs, try the following Microsoft document:
[Windows Update Error 8000FFFF|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error- 8000FFFF]
Head back to Windows Update, and stock up on any updates you're behind on. Once you're completely up to date in that regard, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Itunes stops working for windows 7 64bit
Hello,
As the title says, I am using Windows 7 Professional x64 on my home computer. I am trying to run itunes but it always says "iTunes has stopped working". if necessary, i will upload a screenshot of it but that's all the information I get.
it occurs when:
exporting music to my ipod classic
adding music in the "automatically add to itunes" folder
adding music by drag and drop
every 30 seconds (without doing anything) - this number is an approximate, it may be less
I have tried the following things:
uninstalling and reinstalling
uninstalling and emptying my music folder, then reinstalling
clean uninstall (using a tool such as iobit uninstaller with Advanced System Care), then reinstalling
tried downloading again, in case the download corrupted the first time
looking up some registry stuff
my sound drivers work, so do other players like VLC and codecs like media player classic's codecs. i can confirm that itunes was one of the first programs to be installed on my computer so the codecs do not effect it. i am also running a server on here through my WLAN to my PS3 and all the music is playing on there. Consequently, I do not think there should be anything wrong with the codecs/drivers themselves.
i can't think of anything else to do, i am resorting to using my little netbook; which i'm trying to get rid of and import all my songs from, hence this being quite a predicament to be in.
This is a brand new computer and a brand new install, built it myself, so there shouldn't be any issues with the OS and i do not think it's wise if i reinstalled because i've already filled up about 2.5TB of stuff. It's going to take too much effort to transfer everything.
As a result, my biggest question is whether it can be fixed. if not, i will just wait till the end of the year when i purchase a macbook air. Of course, i do not want this outcome but if i have to then i'll settle with it.
As with all forum posts i send, my appreciation will go out to anyone who can help in this matter.
kind regards
ehab563UTDGuess you have to do Uninstall and Re-install of iTunes from scratch.
Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch -

Itunes stops working in windows
I have Windows 8. After initial launch, message appears that ITunes has stopped working, Windows will close the program and notify me if they find a solution.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

It shouldn't really take that long to do, assuming it goes smoothly.
