my itunes stopped working on the windows 7 PC. i am now unable to sync my ipad!

    Hello,
I suggest that you follow the instructions in this Apple troubleshooting article.

  • I can't subscribe to Match on Win 7 with iTunes 10.6.3.25. When Apple ID auth window comes up iTunes crashes with "iTunes stopped working" and iTunes closes.

On Windows 7 with iTunes 10.6.3.25 I cannot subscribe to iTunes Match. In iTunes I click on iTunes Match in the left pane then click the "Subscribe for $25 a year" button. A window that looks like I am going to be asked to login using my Apple ID and password starts to come up but then an error occurs and I get a window that says "iTunes stopped working" then iTunes closes. What can I do ?

I've also read somewhere about using Win Rar to extract files to do with apple mobile device support from the itunes installer file, would you recommend that to? I don't really fancy the idea of doing anything that involves my registry because knowing me I'll end up screwing my laptop up for good lol
It's a little more involved than just doing a standalone AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi install, I'm afraid. The relevant drivers in AMDS are not digitally signed for 64-bit XP, so you have to force XP to accept a driver install that it would try its damnedest to not do. There's no driver issues for other 64-bit componentry in the installer package (I think the GEAR drivers install on XP 64-bit systems), but I believe there's still a bit of fancy footwork involved in getting them installed too ... although it's been a long time since I've looked at an instruction set, and I might not be recalling those things correctly. (So if you're not comfortable with system modifications, it might be best to steer clear of the Orca-based techniques ...)

  • All of a sudden my iTunes stopped working, and I get the following error messages:   1. the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem   and   2. iTunes was not installed correct

All of a sudden my iTunes stopped working, and I get the following error messages:
    1. the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
    and
    2. iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Now I've checked the forums and followed the advice of uninstalling all Apple applications, rebooting, and reinstalling iTunes.
This is not working. I've tried installing as Administrator but doesn't make any difference at all.
There must be a way to fix this? I'm not a tech geek but I want to avoid having to take my laptop back to factory settings to sort this out.
    Thanks

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Itunes stops working. how do i prent this from happening?

i have windows xp home edition sp3, and latest version of itunes 10.5.1.42. i recently baught a new hard drive and had to reinstall the operating system. and so after i reinstalled itunes i had to redownload all my purchases in itunes. i also restored my iphone to get rid of alot of clutter and apps no longer using. when i went to sync all my apps i have to check the box next to the app i want on my iphone.after about five or six of the apps i check itunes stops working and have to send an error report and then itunes closes down. i deleted itunes and  and reinstalled it thinking that maybe i go a bad download or partial download of itunes but is still doing the same thing. help please i want these apps back on my iphone 4

The closing of the lid to turn off the airport is normal, however it should reestablish a connection when opened.
The only time I've seen this NOT happen is when a invisible network is used on the router.
Mac's will only ask if a invisible network upon a reboot and that's it, it doesn't keep broadcasting the SSID all the time looking for the invisible network, that's a security issue with laptops due to their mobility.
After all how secure is a invisible network if your laptop is blabbing it all around town?
Anyway MAC address filtering and invisible networks don't stop a hacker anyway, it helps if there are high traffic areas where a lot of people connect via wifi, as it keeps your router from being overloaded with connection requests.

  • ITunes stops working when accessing iTunes store

The latest tunes 11.1, when you access the iTunes Store, iTunes stops working and wants to shut down.

Ever since I got a new laptop with Win8 (5 months ago) I have been unable to access the iTunes Store.  I've searched for answers and nothing has worked.  Gave up for several months since Apple told me I'd have to pay their support team to fix the issue.  Today I found this thread, applied the fix found by "DonInDassel" and so far I'm accessing the store with no issue.  I copied & pasted the file into the new location so it stayed in both locations, just in case.  iTunes store is still running after 30 minutes and I've been randomly clicking all over the place just to test it!!!!  Why can't Apple figure this stuff out?  LOL!  I hope y'all have the same success!

  • ITunes stops working and closes on opening with Match on, works fine with match off

iTunes stops working and closes upon opening with Match on, works fine with match off

I am having the very same problem with iTunes, I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and started having the problem after the latest update. I just upgraded to the new 5s and was syncing everything to it, so I figured that I would update my itunes software as well. Which I never do after updating one time and had trouble with it on my old laptop and had to rollback to a older version of itunes. I have tried every suggestion that has been posted in the Apple Discussion area and on other websites no luck what so ever. I figured I will wait till Apple comes out with another update and try again. In the post above I am having the exact problem with iTunes.  I'd love to know what thef-ing problem is because this is extremely annoying!

  • ITunes stopped working,C++ library error, removed iTunes, now iTunes wont download

Have been using iTunes for years on laptop with windows vista (32 bit).  recently started getting itunes errors such as C++ runtime library error and  R6034 error.  Itunes stopped working.  Read the boards, I deleted itunes and other products from the trouble shooting directions (e.g., bonjour, mobile me etc), and tried to download itunes again.  now itunes wont download (I have 20 MB/140MB available memory).  stuck at this point - Itunes not on laptop, but cant download new itunes.....

Sorry for the delay.  Tried running the fixit program (1 time via internet explorer, 1 time via firefox), the firefox attempt downloaded the fixit program, but when trying to run it I get a pop up window that indicates that the troubleshooter is not available and that the fixit program is invalid or has expired and a new website is given for the new program (same happened with the internet exploere attempt- it directed me to the same window and to the same website)......the website is:
    http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/
there are several buttons to choose from and reviewed them- I found the uninstall fix that you described in the windows button.  I tried to download and run the fix from both internet explorer and firefox, however after downloading, when i run the program I eventually get the same window that says that the troubleshooter is not available......

  • Lock computer causes itunes stopped working error

I can repeatedly crash itunes by locking my computer either with a screen saver requiring a password or via ctrl-alt-del "lock my computer". I have tried disabling other applications via MSconfig as suggested on some forums (no changes), verified that Qtime does work properly, and even tried solutions for other symptoms that are reported to cause the same error (e.g. deactivate store/reactivate, etc). I do not have any of the codecs that cause problems with itunes.
The error message is always "itunes stopped working...checking for a solution".
I am running Vista Home Premium SP1 (32bit) on a Dell E1405. Any ideas?

You're right - I just validated that -- the problem only occurs when itunes is the top application. Too bad about no response as I use a password protected screen saver on my laptop (for security) and I have the tendency to have itunes on top. I guess I'll have to break this habit until when/if someone solves the bug or creates a workaround.
I'm trying to figure out the mechanism of the failure. Event Viewer tells me its a D3D9.DLL that is failing:
+Faulting application iTunes.exe, version 8.0.2.20, time stamp 0x4925c4fe, faulting module D3D9.DLL, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a65d, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0000ae35, process id 0x119c, application start time 0x01c998fab49455b8.+

  • ITunes stopped working when restoring backup to new iPhone 6

    Hi
I have just bought a new iPhone 6 128GB.  I backed up my iPhone 4S to my computer using iTunes 12.0.1.  When I tried to start the new iPhone 6 from the back up it restored so far, up to step 5 of 5, but when it tired to sync Apps and Music iTunes stopped working.  It has done this over 5 times at exactly the same stage.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1.
I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, turned both the phone and laptop off and back on again.  Update all of the Apps on my laptop and installed them all manually on the phone, tried syncing again... and again...  and again...
It is now getting extremely infuriating as I have now wasted over 4 hours trying to get Apps and Music on my iPhone 6.  The reason for my the 128GB version was so I no longer need to carry and iPod on holiday as I have lots of music.  I now can't sync any music!
    Please help...
