Itunes stops every 5 seconds

I have a new ipod photo. I have set up my library. my ipod itself works great, but when I try to play my music thru itunes, it constantly stops and starts. it really annoying. can anyone help?

welcome to the Apple Discussions, if the the permissions are not set right or locked files are present... you will get skipping, stopping, and other faults.
Do this and see what happens afterwards... none of which will hurt it can only help.
Check that your HD is in order with 'Disk Utility' ...
Run repair HD from original Tiger DVD install disk...
insert disk and re-start holding down the 'c' key until you see the spinning gear.
At installer level do not continue...
Use top menu and select 'Disk Utility' from Utilities ... select the HD volume with the Operating system on...
select 1st aid... select repair Hard Disk.
if errors are repaired run again until none are reported then verify your HD.
quit and return to the Finder Do not continue with the Installer...
Check the permissions are set correct on the Apple installed software...
Use 'Disk Utility' from Applications > Utilities > select HD... select 1st aid. repair permissions... if repairs are needed run again until none are repaired... do not worry about messages 'we are using special permissions etc... they are OK Quit when finished.
Use BatChmod to set correct permissions on your home ~ Music folder
To set preferences using BatChmod is very easy...
This compact GUI will perform the same tasks as a 'command line in Terminal '
drag the complete Music folder with libraries and iTunes Music folder inside to the BatChmod Icon and drop....
check path is correct.... tick if not already.... Owner=R W X, Group=R, Others=R,
then tick 'Apply ownership and priviledges'...'Unlock' & click Apply...
provide password... all done very quick...
You could also run the Mac OS X 'Combo' Update 10.4.2 to see if anything has been missed in the upgrade path.

Why does the movie I bought off of iTunes stop every 5 seconds and then skip through the scenes it missed? ( I am playing the movie on an HP Compac )

Once the movie stops, the audio stops, but then after 5 seconds or so it will speed up to try to catch up with the rest of the movie. I bought the movie in HD for 14.99 and if it keeps acting up like this I am afraid it's going to crash my computer. Please, this is so frustrating

You are more lucky than me, mine will go about 8 seconds...audio stops but the song is still playing. I have to quit iTunes and occasionally I can get it to work normal for a while. Shuffle is broke, help is broke, iTunes needs a MAJOR update and QUICK!. I can't live without me musics.

ITunes 10.3.1 pops up with Accessing iTunes Store every second

Hi all, iTunes streaming victims.
I struggled long with the streaming buffer problem of iTunes and indeed could solve it with increasing the buffer size, which features has been removed in iTunes 10. And this without updating the instructions by Apple!
In the end also the reinstall didn't work.

My iPhone when put on to charge, it just charges then stops, charges then stops about every second

When I put my phone on charge it is been crazy.
It charges then stops, charged then stops every second. It is driving me mad and is going to run out of life eventually.

My phone has the latest firmware, It is a replacement phone as the one I had until last week broke down and Orange replaced it.
It started doing this after using it for a few days, I discovered last night that i could only charge it from the PC i am using. We have 3 iphones in the house and a ipod touch and everything else works fine with all leeds both in wal and on the Pc and my Radio alarm clock docking station.
Unfortunatly while writing this it has also started while charging on PC, I am jinxed as my last unit broke down and would not charge at all either and was told by the guys and the genius bar that it had totally malfunctioned and was unable to be fixed.

How do you stop videos from interrupting every second or so during playback (since upgrading to iOS7)?

I've just upgraded and now every time I try to play a video it stops every couple of seconds. It worked perfectly before installing this loathesome upgrade. I have plenty of surplus memory so this isn't an issue.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

If it is a HD movie, it may not be enough. The iPad also need working space.
Try download to iTune (computer) and "Move" to iPad.

Video playback from YouTube stops every 2 seconds.

On my "old" iPhone 5 and my new iPhone 5S the playback of ie Youtube videos stops every 2 seconds and i have to start the video again and again, does any one recognice this, and is ther a fix to this problem?
I had succes on the old phone with a restart of the phone, after that is worked a few weekes and then needed a new reestert, but on the new 5s the error is consistent, i am running iOS 7.0.4

I need to say that i have A 100/100 mbps connection and that the wireless router gives me 40/40 mbps, så that os mit an issue, but thanks anyway for the answer!

The problem also goes away if the display on the top portion of iTunes is the graphical equalizer instead of displaying the track info. Basically whenever iTunes is running and the track info is displayed my computer gets this pause every second or so in every application even just moving the mouse on the desktop (dual monitor setup). If I minimize iTunes or change the display to the equalizer that little annoying pause goes away. obviously I can just keep it minimzed or on the equalizer but sometimes I like to look at the disply to see what song it is and I hate to have to go thru so much work just to see the song title. Just curious if anyone has experienced anything like this??

My situation wasn't ever this bad, but I noticed that the larger my library was, the slower it seemed to navigate. Anyway, my mouse never really paused every few seconds, but the best I can guess is that you're computer's resources may be being used a lot just to display and navigate iTunes. Don't quote me on this, but if this is indeed the cause of you're problem, you might either have to put up with the pauses, or buy a more powerful computer.
Actually, if possible, you might want to try closing all programs you have open except iTunes. If that helps, then you can just use iTunes in that way. However, that would also confirm that your computer's resources are being used up.

ITunes stops playing music after 20 seconds

Hi there, after upgrading my os to Mac OS 10.5.1 and iTunes 7.6, iTunes stops playing my tunes after about 20 seconds. I have no idea why this is happening???

Try deleting the cache. Go to User Name>Library>Cache. Locate the iTunes cache file and delete that file.

Mpg movies stops every 7 seconds

Recently, every time I try to play an mpg movie on QuickTime, the movie stops every 7 seconds approx.
This started not long ago, and before that, all mpg movies played perfectly. I'm not aware of having made any changes in the QuickTime preferences or any other QuickTime feature. Is this a problem of the player or of the movies I have?
I already re-installed QuickTime, but the problem is still there.

Ok guys, thanks. The files didn't seem to have any broken timecode, so the app didn't make any changes to the files, but I exported the video to QuickTime and that solved the problem -although it took forever-.
Is there any faster way to do it? Anyway, it helped a lot to know about the Streamclip app. Thank you again.

Why does my iTunes stop working every time I plug my iPad in, but works for other apple devices

I have the lastest version of iTunes and the lastest version of the iOS sytem on my iPad 2. Every time I plug my iPad in and it comes up on iTunes, my iTunes stops responding and I have a never ending rainbow wheel. This is really frustrating and only happens when I plug my iPad in. It hasn't done that when I've plugged my iPhone, my brother's iPad, my iPod touch or my friend's iPod touch. Please help me! I just want to add a movie to my iPad.

It's happening to me too. The last time I synced was on Dec. 29th 2011 (right after I moved to Puerto Rico), so I figure my moving has nothing to do with it if it synced perfectly a week ago. But now when I try to sync it, after uninstalling itunes, restarting my computer, etc., it keeps freezing on me. I'm just hoping that syncing to iCloud is actually useful...
