Itunes stops responding at "installing apple application support".

I am trying to install iTunes on Windows 7 but it is not installin beyond the "Apple application support". Any help please?

I had the trouble that if an old #4 or #5 was installed, a full iTunes install did not work.
If you have any of the above installed, try this,
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • ITunes installation stuck at "Installing Apple Application Support"

    This is the first time I have tried installing iTunes since I recently bought an Apple product. Problem is, the installation gets stuck at the very beggining of the process. The progression bars stays empty no matter how long I leave the window open. The window won't even close when I try to cancel, I have to nuke everything via the task manager.
    I have Windows 7 Home premium, 64-bit.

    Make sure you have administrator account access- I am using admin account
    Make sure your folder names don't contain strange characters- tried from desktop
    Do you have any other suggestions please?

  • Error in installing Apple Application Support preventing installation of iTunes, please help

    I am trying to install iTunes for Windows (64 bit) but have been unsuccessful because I receive the following error message: "Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type+"win32",version="8.0.50727.6195"publicKeyToken="1fc8b3 b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x80070BC9.
    After receiving this error message the installation continues, but iTunes is never able to launch because it says that Apple Application Support is not installed.  I have tried separately installing Apple Application Support only to receive the same error message as above.  Please advise on how I can install iTunes properly or what this error message means.

    Now I am trying to install the latest version of iTunes on a Windows 7 64bit version and I have a problem.

  • Error Message: "Please install Apple Application Support" after QT7 Install

    Greetings:
    I attempted to update my Quicktime 6 application to QT7, but the install stopped partway through. I uninstalled Quicktime completely, and started over with a download and clean install of Quicktime 7.6.7. When I try to run my newly installed QT7.6.7, I get an ErrorMessage box with "Quicktime Player" in the header, and "Please install Apple Application Support." in the box.
    What do I do now?

    For some reason (Firewall / Internet security programs?) the Apple iTunes installation program doesn't install all the necessary components.
    There is a way to manually unpack the installation program to it's 6 different components and install each component one by one.
    (Advantage: you don't need to uninstall or deactivate your security programs)
    Best thing to do is:
    1) Download the iTunes installation program (directly from the Apple website
    http://www.apple.com )to your desktop,
    WITHOUT INSTALLING the iTunes application.
    2) Download he WinRAR decompression/unpack utility (for example from:
    http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html?tag=recommended Downloads )
    and install it on your desktop for easy use.
    3) Unpack the iTunes installation program, using WinRAR by rightclicking the
    iTunes installation program and choose 'Open with WinRAR'.
    Don't bother with the message from WinRAR about files beïng corrupt
    (these are probably the unreadable 'Apple Mac' files).
    4) You'l see that the original iTunes installation program consists of 6
    different installation programs.
    4 utility programs (necessary for iTunes to work correctly)
    - Apple Application Support (Version: 1.3.2)
    - Apple Software Update (Version: 2.1.2.120)
    - Apple Mobile Device Support (Version: 3.2.0.47)
    - Bonjour (Version: 2.0.3.0)
    and 2 main programs
    - Quicktime
    - iTunes
    Copy these 6 programs to your desktop with WinRAR,
    where they will appear unpacked.
    5) Install each program one by one IN CORRECT ORDER:
    - First the 4 utility programs, one by one.
    - Following this, install QuickTime.
    - Install iTunes as last.
    6) Check the Windows installed programs list to see if they're all installed.
    You can check the versions of te programs by clicking the information toolbar
    for each program.

    I click on QuickTime and get the error "Please install Apple Application Support". I tried many things to fix this, but non worked. This error also effects iTunes and doesn't let iTunes run either. I cleaned my registry with a registry fixer and completely removed every program and software from Apple Inc.. I then restarted the computer and runned the registry fixer again. Then I first downloaded Quicktime and installed that (ending up with the same error) and then downloaded iTunes and installed it. Nothing seems to work.
    PLEASE HELP, THIS IS URGENT!

    Hello everyone,
    I need some help here because every time I try to open up iTunes or try to open up Quicktime I keep getting this annoying error message which states "Please install Apple Application Support." As an alternative I can run my personal Quicktime movie files and iTunes music using Windows Media Player but when it comes to watching my purchased iTunes Movies or TV Shows its a NO GO most likely because they are encrypted and can only be authorized through a Apple product which puts me in a predicament of a) Not being able to watch my movie or TV purchases from iTunes, b) Not having the ability to access iTunes to purchase episodes of my favorite TV shows and movies when they become available. I've already gone to the Apple Support site and followed the instructions to completely uninstalled iTunes and Quicktime (In that order) and then reinstalled them (In that order) but I keep getting this same error message so If anyone can provide assistance ASAP I'd really... really... appreciate it.

    I'm working with over 500 Windows 7 x86 computers and an image to deploy with.  When I install the standalone QuickTime 7.76.80.95 through a push out (SCCM) with the command with "QuickTimeInstaller7.7.6.exe /qn" and "QuickTimeInstaller7.7.6.exe /quiet" we get the message "Please install apple application support" when opening the program.  We are unable to get past this message.
    I can't even get our x64 version to install at all through a push out, batch file, etc.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I don't have any specific answers for you, but if you unpack the QuickTime installer with something like 7-Zip you should find it contains three .msi files, AppleApplicationSupport.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi and QuickTime.msi. The version of AAS in that package is 2.3.6, the version bundled with the latest build of iTunes is 3.1.3. Do these machines have iTunes installed?
    As far as I know QuickTime is 32-bit only, and if you want iTunes to be able to use it on a 64-bit system you may need to install the version found at iTunes for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards) which is a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit code, similar to all 64-bit versions of iTunes prior to 12.1.
    If you install QuickTime in interactive mode from the desktop with administrator rights do you get the same error message?
    Can you batch install AppleApplicationSupport.msi and then QuickTime.msi?
    If there is something particular about your systems that is preventing AAS installing at all then place the .msi in the root of the C: drive and use this command to produced a detailed log for inspection:
    msiexec /i C:\AppleApplicationSupport.msi /l*v "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\Log_AAS.txt"
    In case you're typing rather than copy/pasting the switch in the middle reads slash el star vee (not one) and forces verbose logging.
