ITunes stops syncing photos

Hi,
I received a new iMac and now want to sync my iPhone and iPad. That all works fine until it comes to photos. iTunes says, that the photos on the iPhone / iPad are not linked with the library and if I want to replace them. I say ok and it deletes the photos and starts to import. After a few hundreds it stops and says "this iPhone can not be synced. The required file can not be found". Nothing else. I guess this is because one defect or corrupted photo? Is there a log that would show what photo this might be?
Is there anything I can do? Now I just have no photo at all synced to the iPhone / iPad.
Thanks.

Solved it myself. The iPod Cache needs to be deleted.

    Hi,
iTunes is no longer syncing my iPhoto library to my iPhone 4. Everything was syncing fine when I first got the phone, but, over the past week or so, it's stopped syncing photos.
Now, after attempting to start from scratch by deleting all the photos on my iPhone, iTunes won't sync ANY photos from iPhoto back to my iPhone. I've restarted my phone, computer, etc., force quit all photo-related apps on my iPhone, and tried various combinations of turning iTunes' photo syncing on/off, switching photo sync folders, etc., all to no avail -- I can't get my iPhoto library back on to my iPhone no matter what I do.
Anyone encounter a similar situation? (I've already sent feedback to Apple.) Thanks in advance.

Try deleting what is called the iPod Photo Cache.

  • TS3697 My iTunes stopped syncing with iPhoto

My iTunes stopped syncing with iPhoto, but I get no warning message. Just no update of photos.  I do not believe i updated anything at the time that iTunes stopped syncing with iPhoto, its possible this coincided with one of the iTunes updates and i did not notice. I cannot see any new photos or albums in iPhoto in iTunes.  How do I fix this?  I already tried deleting the iPod photo cache in my iPhoto library. No luck.  Any idea how to solve this?

Doublechecking. You've tried the following document?
iTunes for Windows: "Unable to load data class" or "Unable to load provider data" sync services alert

  • ITunes cannot sync photos following Photos upgrade

Since upgrading to 10.10.3 and migrating my iPhoto database to the new Photos.app, iTunes is throwing up an error message:
iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone “[my iphone]” because your iPhoto Library could not be found. Open iPhoto to create or update your iPhoto Library.
My iTunes version is 12.1.2.27 (it updated yesterday) and all the rest of my software is updated to the latest versions.
I have tried rebooting and restarting iTunes and Photos many times.
My iPhone syncs new photos fine to Photos.
There is an option in iTunes to change the iTunes Media folder location, but this only affects music not photos.
Would love some help with this! Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem with my two iPads. Got same error message.. What i discovered is that once you device in connected you can go into setting. You will need to click on photos. At top of screen that opens you photo setting you will  then need to click synch photos block. It will then open the lower portion of you photos settings. You can then click on circle to sync all photos or select only the albums you want synced and include videos if you wish. Once you have clicked on all desired setting you will need to click the sync button manually on bottom of that screen next to all you used and free GB space.  You will get a pop up window asking if you want to erase all photos on you device. If you feel all your pictures and videos transferred over to the new photo app then you should be fine erasing all the pics on the device and now the new photo settings will sync to your device.. I hope this has been helpful to you. As it worked for me.
Look at it this way you just need to reset all your photos setting because they stopped communicating with you device once the iPhoto transferred you photos to the new photo app.

That is precisely what my mid-2010 MacBoook Pro 13 was doing before the drive finally died after an Apple Genius rebooted it a dozen or so times. I have since read about the exact same thing happening to others, including a writer for The Atlantic magazine who had never had an issue with a Mac before. Do a back-up ASAP to make sure you don't lose anything and see about replacing the HDD. It is only about $140 for a new drive. The real issue is if you lose your data, too. So, make sure you do that back-up!

  • ITunes stopped syncing movies on my iPod Touch

This one is driving me crazy today.
iPod Touch - latest generation. iOS 8.1.
iMac 27 - Yosemite 10.10. All updates current.
    iTunes 12.0.1.26
For a few years now, I've had home videos of my granddaughter on my iPod Touch. About a dozen of them.
Today iTunes stopped syncing those. On the iPod I see some of the icons, but if I try playing the movies, there's nothing there.
Looked at the movies on my iPod Touch through iTunes ... all the movies have a grey, dotted circle on the left of the movie name in iTunes.
I've turned the iPod off, restarted the iMac a few times ... same result. iTunes goes through the sync cycle, no error messages, and then the same result - no movies on my iPod Touch.
I launched Console to see if any errors were reported there - cleared the list, ran the sync - no error messages relating to iTunes appeared in Console. (Many other suspicious entries in Console - mdworker errors etc etc but nothing about iTunes).
What on earth is going on? Any ideas/suggestions on how I can get my movies back on my iPod Touch?
    Thanks

there are quite a few different free programs you could use to convert.. and yes if you convert it to mp4 and added it to your itunes it should sync fine.. here is a good read on ripping/conversion for the ipod.

  • My iphone 5 stopped syncing photos to FB. I've tried all the set up directions but none work.

Iphone stopped syncing photos with Face Book. I've tried all the set up directions but none work, or don't follow what is said they will follow (no directions pop up when I select syned from iphone in pictures)

Thanks! I called Apple, and we did a software update. While the phone now will light up and work for about 30 seconds before going dark again, the representative said I would probably get a replacement phone if I took it in. You are right - probably a hardware failure!

  • Using iTunes to sync photos, ipad gets the frames but no image in them.

When I use iTunes to sync photos or faces, the iPad shows the frames only, but no images.

    @Alan
I have copied the photos under MyPictures on my PC.
Basically it is the same, only that the limit above which iTunes is making nonsense is higher:
    - using the MyPictures folder on the PC, I can sync 500 photos from 12 folders in one block and eveything is fine.
    - using the external drive, I can sync only about 100 photos from 2 to 3 folders in one block or shot as you prefer
BUT, and that is the problem, BUT in both cases, going above (in terms of # of photos and folders) leads to random outputs:
    - either I get a list of empty folders on the iPad with the message it failed to finish the sync
    - or all photos are copied but then are mixed up within different folders in which case (I do not even get an error message). With mixed up I mean the following: a portion of the photos from PC:folder1 let's say 10) are copied to iPad:Folder8 that already contains the photos of PC:folder8 and iPad:folder1 does not contain these 10 photos, so iPad:folder1 is smaller as the original PC:folder1 and iPad:folder8 is bigger as PC:folder8
    - or I get an error message within the copying process (-1401,-50, -1303)
The difference in behaviour is the size that can be copied  in one shot to the iPad: bigger from the PC as from the hard disk drive attached to the PC.
Does this means that the speed at which it can copy makes the difference? This would be  poor especially while thinking of iCloud Sync where the connection speed can be rather slow (for thousands of reasons).

  • Itunes cannot sync photos

Trying to sync photos to new 80GB Classic. I get the following error message "itunes cannot sync photos to the ipod "ipod name" because the folder "my pictures" cannot be found."
I coincidentally got a a new computer a week ago and I get the same error message on both the new computer and the old computer.
I've seen several posts about photo syncing problems but I have not yet seen the resolution...maybe I missed it? Any help?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • What does this mean? iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because you do not have write access to the folder "iChat Icons"

Can anyone help me please? My iphone originally was linked to my PC. I downloaded over 3,000 pictures from my PC to my iphone. Since then my PC broke and now I have a macbook pro and the macbook doesn't recognize all the pictures from my pc. I get the following message.
-iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone "Daniel's iPhone" because you do not have write access to the folder "iChat Icons".

    Hi,
I picked up on this Post as I was searching for "iChat" in non iChat places.
A Mac will contain a Folder for "iChat Icons"
It is kept in Hard Drive/System/Library/Application Support/iChat icons
There are about 9 sub folders here including Planets, Guitars, Feng Shui and so on.
They are normally accessed in iChat to be your Own Buddy pic.
They way you have phrased your posts suggests you have a folder on your phone called "iChat icons" which may have been created by the PC.
For people who know more about iTunes than I do to help will need to know where this Folder is exactly.

Can't be done with iTunes.  You can do it with the app PhotoSync.  It will transfer videos back to camera roll.

  • ITunes cannot sync photos to AppleTV . . . unknown error occurred (-50)

Whenever I try to sync photos via iTunes with AppleTV using iPhoto as the source in the Photos tab, I get the following error message "iTunes cannot sync photos to AppleTV because of a problem on your computer. Unknown error occurred (-50)." I can sync all other media and even photos so long as do not sync it from iPhoto as a source (e.g., syncing from file folders not a problem).
I tried everything that I could think of: disconnecting and re-syncing AppleTV, restore to factory settings AppleTV and basically re-installing it, re-installed iPhoto, updated iPhoto library. I have also checked to make sure Slideshows in iPhoto are not linked to any music that may have ampersand or some other strange symbols. I have updated AppleTV to version 3.0.1, iPhoto has been updated to version 8.1.1 (iLife '09). OS is 10.6.2.
I am going crazy in trying to fix this problem but so far it is a dead end. Exporting slideshows is not a very attractive option as it takes forever. This "error" happened about a week ago when I was putting a slideshow together in iPhoto and then tried to sync it with AppleTV. First, went through without any problems, second - error message and that is where I am currently stuck.
If someone has ANY ideas how to resolve this, I would really appreciate your thoughts.

  • ITunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because your iPhoto Library is not yet available.

I've turned my iPhone 4 into a iPod, meaning I only use it to hold music for my workouts. Ever since I've upgraded to Yosmite I can't sync my iPhone 4 to iTunes anymore. I can back it up, but I can't sync. Each time it tells me "iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because your iPhoto Library is not yet available"  I don't want to sync any photos, just music.
I've tried to repair my iPhoto Library, restarted my Mac, restarted my iPhone 4 but I still get his error message.
In iTunes when I select my iPhone 4 > Photos, I just get a spinning wheel.
    Any thoughts??

I can't follow the first link since I just get a spinning wheel for photos.
