Itunes stops working for no reason

recently itunes just stops working every now and then for no reason. I only use it to listen to my music and didn't change any settings at all. then last week i updated it to the newest version, which i thought would put an end to this. but it still keeps happening.
i have no clue at all.
ps. i'm using a windows 7 home edition 64 bit os and have been for a year. didn't have this problem until very recent.
any help is appreciated

1. In iTunes - go to - HELP - DIagnostics
If that does not fix the problem, I would suggest that you do a complete uninstall and reinstall.
To to your Control Panel and remove all Apple programs - sort by Publisher:
uninstall: Bonjour, Quicktime, iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Service Device, Apple Software Update
Restart your PC
Go to Apple - iTunes and download (if you are running Windows 64 bit - look for the link in the text for the link for the proper iTunes installation
This should give you a clean installation.

Now i have my Qosmio X500 for a year and i like it, however i have small problems with it, and i would like to know if it can be problematic.
The first thing is that my power adapter stopped working for no reason,
So i bought a new one, but it always made some noise when the laptop was fully charged.
I know people with the same laptop and their adapter didn't make that sizzling noise, it looks like it was already defect from the begin.
Then i have one dead pixel in the middle of my screen, no problem for me.
Finally my screen is a bit loose from the laptop, when i close it, i can move it, it always seems like it's not on it's correct place, because when i close it normally it's not 100% horizontal...
Also when i replace my screen, my speakers make crackling noises and my webcam stops working.
So all those problems i have annoy me, especially the last one (webcam and speakers problem), can this fit in the warranty of the laptop? I did extend the warranty for one year...

I think this is AC adaptor fault maybe a broken cable or something like that I would recommend you to replace this get in contact with the dealer and ask for the new one.

Maybe you should ask Toshiba notebook technicians for a check maybe some screws or the hinges are loose.
The speakers should be checked with connected headphones. If you will not notice the same crackling sound using headphones, then the issue might be related to speakers

The link for the word 'HERE' directs to a Evergreen School District page, which outside of Mobile Me and/or Aperture. Your school district network might be intercepting the request from Aperture and displaying the 'network authentication page' that you see, instead of the email. I would get with the IT department to see if they can help you get around this.
Have you also tried using the 'Tell a Friend' feature from another network location, like starbucks or your home?

Personal Hot-spot has stopped working for no reason

I had a perfectly functional Person Hotspot (data tethering) feature with my Vodafone UK connection, and the data tethering plan I had enrolled proved more economical than those regular USB dongles. Recently, I upgraded my vodafone plan to allow for a higher usage - and somehow the person Hotspot just stopped working. Every time I navigate to the Personal Hotspot Button, the tab - which used to read 'Enable Personal Hotspot ON/OFF' - now reads 'Setup Personal Hotspot'. When I click on the link, it directs me to a Vodafone Iphone Advertisement page.
I contacted Vodafone officials, even personally visited their store and got a confirmation that the data tethering plan is active, and there should be no problem with my iphone's data tethering capability. The best advise they could suggest was to backup and restore the Iphone using Itunes. Well - I tried that as well, and still the problem persists.
Has anyone faced this problem before? Can anyone help - where exactly can I reset the Hotspot settings, or even enter it manually to get it working? I've tried backup and restore, reset cellular data network, Disable and re-enable 3G, ejecting and re-inserting Vodafone SIM........ The hotspot was a wonderful feature, would love to get it back.........!!

Thanks Dodie. My personal hotspot just stopped working. I use it all the time and it was driving me crazy having to connect via usb.
I have used the reset before and forgot all about it.

IPhone stopped working for no reason

Hi,
Need some help.
I have had an iPhone now for a year, and it has just completly stopped working. It hasn't been dropped or had anything spilt on it. I have phone Orange twice now and they have gone through plugging it into iTunes and both times it did nothing except for the little apple sign to come on for approx. 20 seconds then go off.
Orange have now told me the phone is basically dead and there is nothing I can do as its now out of warranty and I can't upgrade until May 2012!!
Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get the phone working?

TS2972 Homesharing stopped working for no reason

I tried finding an answer in other forums but couldn't find any solutions, with the possible exception of a couple of answers where someone types a 10 page essay of all the techie reconfigurations they did on their entire system to get the 15 different devices working on their multiple ATVs, but I don't think it applies to me, even if I could understand it (I'm not that savy, sorry guys!):
I have one Apple TV, hooked up to one TV, homesharign to my one itunes account on my one macbook. Everything worked great, then one day just didn't, and it hasn't connected since. I reset the router, the itunes, the ATV, etc. . . . the "computer" section on ATV acknowledges my homeshare account but tells me I can't connect to it until I turn on homesharing on my computer, meanwhile homesharing IS turned on on my computer . . . my WIFI is working, there have been no new devices introduced to the home recently, and NOTHING has changed. Since it stopped working I also got all the latest updates for ATV and itunes, but it still doesn't work (I can't blame the updates though, it wasn't working before). The other features of my ATV work fine, including internet radio, etc.
Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks for any help!

Itunes stops working for windows 7 64bit

As the title says, I am using Windows 7 Professional x64 on my home computer. I am trying to run itunes but it always says "iTunes has stopped working". if necessary, i will upload a screenshot of it but that's all the information I get.
it occurs when:
exporting music to my ipod classic
adding music in the "automatically add to itunes" folder
adding music by drag and drop
every 30 seconds (without doing anything) - this number is an approximate, it may be less
I have tried the following things:
uninstalling and reinstalling
uninstalling and emptying my music folder, then reinstalling
clean uninstall (using a tool such as iobit uninstaller with Advanced System Care), then reinstalling
tried downloading again, in case the download corrupted the first time
looking up some registry stuff
my sound drivers work, so do other players like VLC and codecs like media player classic's codecs. i can confirm that itunes was one of the first programs to be installed on my computer so the codecs do not effect it. i am also running a server on here through my WLAN to my PS3 and all the music is playing on there. Consequently, I do not think there should be anything wrong with the codecs/drivers themselves.
i can't think of anything else to do, i am resorting to using my little netbook; which i'm trying to get rid of and import all my songs from, hence this being quite a predicament to be in.
This is a brand new computer and a brand new install, built it myself, so there shouldn't be any issues with the OS and i do not think it's wise if i reinstalled because i've already filled up about 2.5TB of stuff. It's going to take too much effort to transfer everything.
As a result, my biggest question is whether it can be fixed. if not, i will just wait till the end of the year when i purchase a macbook air. Of course, i do not want this outcome but if i have to then i'll settle with it.
As with all forum posts i send, my appreciation will go out to anyone who can help in this matter.

Guess you have to do Uninstall and Re-install of iTunes from scratch.
Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

My iphone 5s screen has stopped working for no reason at all? how can i fix this?

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

Help! Safari Autofill stopped working for no reason.

My Safari autofill has suddenly stopped working. It used to be that when a form came up on safari I could start filling it out and hit tab and it would fill in the entire form. Now it looks like it might fill in that line, but if I hit tab it doesn';t even complete the line that is highlighted. I think this started to happen after I did the latest OS X software update -- I am now running 10.4.11. I checked autofill on safari and it seems to have all the appropriate boxes checked. And if I go to the pull down menu and pull down edit and do autofill forms, it will do it. But why won't it do it using tab any more?

Digital out stopped working for no reason?

I have been using the digital out through an optical cable to my surround sound for quite a few months. Today I turned the machine on and the sound no longer comes through. The surround sound does not show a connected device.
I have checked the cable and surround sound device by plugging in another device that has optical out - this works fine. When I plug the optical cable into the back of the mini mac it lights up.
Does anyone have any ideas how this might suddenly stop working and if there is way to fix it? Is the output of the digital out affected by software updates (im running latest updates)?

Go to system preferences and then open sound. Click on the output tab and see what info you have under name. If you see Digital Out, it is hardware related (MLB) and needs service. Try to reset the SMC of the mini as well. Here's the steps:

2nd Gen Ipod Stopped Working For No Reason :/!

Basically, i've had my ipod for about 2-3 years and today it suddenly stopped working. By this i mean, its off and i can't turn it back on!
I can see a small light on the top right corner of the screen but that is all.
Also you know where u put the charger in? at the bottom of the ipod? that smells a tiny bit of burnt!
I dont know whats happened, i haven't dropped it or slipped water all over it! Please Help! i got this given as a gift so i dont know if there is any warranty!

Proxy Stops working for no reason, recreating with the wizard works fine

For no reason I will start getting the following error:

I will then create a new proxy using the wizard and it will work fine the first time. Does anyone know what is going on here? I have the preference for Web Browser proxy turned off

Not sure if this is the problem but the proxy is working now. It seems that when the WSDL created by the wizard hardcodes the ip address of the local machine into the soap address. Then when you create the proxy using that wizard it uses the same hardcoded ip address. So when you plug into another network get another ip address it won't work. So to make it work I changed both the webservice address and endpoint to use localhost.
I'm new to the web services stuff so I'm looking for someone to validate this theory.

Airtunes with Airport Express Base Station stopped working for no reason

I used to play music through AirTunes with no problem. I have an Airport Express Base Station and I'm connected to it with an Airport Extreme Card built-in my iBook G4. When I came home after day at work (with the iBook, which is connected in there to wireless access point but not Apple), Airtunes is not working. Also I can not see my (not closed network) Base Station in Airport Admin Utility, internet connection is still working fine. If I connect to the Base Station by pressing button Other, manually type IP of Base Station I can connect to it and administrate it. Airtunes is allowed there, in iTunes too but it is just not working, I don't know about anything that could has been changed. I think nothing has. AppleTalk is runnig only on Airport card. Thank anyone for any advice. I tried to update firmware in the Base Station today and no software update is available.

Please perform a "factory default" reset on your AirPort Express. Note you may need to do this a few times to make sure it "sticks." Once completed successfully, the status light should flash amber NOT green.
This type of reset will reconfigure the Express to its factory settings. That is, it will broadcast an unsecured Wi-Fi network with a network name (aka SSID) of something like: Apple Network NNNNNN
Can your Win7 computer find and connect to this network now? If it can, then do so and the AirPort Utility on the PC should now be able to find the Express.

DV9999us Sound Hardware stopped working for no reason

This is my first time ever posting to a thread, so if I do a poor job explaining myself, I apologize.
I have an hp dv 9999US laptop which months ago I upgraded to Win7-64 Pro.
I had no problems until a few weeks ago, where all of a sudden one day my sound card stopped responding. The soft touch keys above the keyboard became unresponsive and there was a red "x" next to the speaker icon in the taskbar. If I click on it, I get a "not responding/wait/close" dialogue box. And under Device manager I have no listing for a "Sound, video, and game controllers." Sometimes Device manager shows a device listed as "Co-Processor" with a yellow exclamation after it, but when I try to install a driver for it windows is unable to find one.
Also, when I try and install the driver for my sound card ( when it's not detected in DM) i get a code 10 error that the hardware is not responsive, or something to that effect.
However, sometimes everything works fine. The soft touch keys are responsive, my conexant sound card displays in Device manager, and the volume settings in the taskbar are functional.
I have NO idea what is causing this, but I've tried just about every driver I can find that's compatible with my integrated sound card.
I've done some forum reading, and one thing people suggest is to make sure that the Microsoft UAA bus driver, but I'm a little hesitant to start installing random drivers without knowing what they'll do.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and any additional information you need will be almost instantly provided.

Try a smple reset:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release(ignore the slide to power off).
