Hey jetapache,
Thanks for the question. The following article provides troubleshooting steps if you iTunes for Windows is becoming unresponsive.
iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7: Troubleshooting unexpected quits, freezes, or launch issues
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1717
Resolution
Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any inference with plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
1. Hold down the Shift and Control keys while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
2. After clicking Continue, determine whether the issue you were experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you see the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the Create a New User Account section below. If you do not experience the same issue, consult iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins for steps on how to remove third-party plug-ins.
Thanks,
Matt M.

I have already copied my photographs to the a library manager but when I tried to reuse iphoto and import the photos back into iphoto, it would not let me.
You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Itunes stopped working windows 7 pro

for about a month I have not been able to successfully open itunes.  Upon launch the top bar says "accessing itunes store" and looks like it opening then a window pops up "itunes stopped working."  I tried repair and did a complete uninstall then reinstall without success.  Any suggestions?

  • ITunes stops working Windows 7 64

I have Windows 7 64 and iTunes 10.7 and since I downloaded 10.7 I have been having problems downloading albums and watching videos.  I can go to the iTunes store, buy the album, but once the download starts I get a message that "iTunes has stopped working and Windows is checking for a solution."  After a couple seconds this window will close and a new window will open stating that "iTunes has stopped working and Windows is going to close the program." There is only a button to close the program.  I do get an email confirming that my purchase was made, but I can not download the songs.  If I reopen iTunes and go to the store and click on "purchases", most recent, I can see my recently purchased songs, when I click to download one song or all of the songs, it will start to download for a few seconds then I get the same warning as above.  When I watch videos, I will get a picture a few seconds of sound then I get the same warning.
Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a fix for it?  I have uninstalled iTunes and everything Apple and downloaded fresh copies and reinstalled it many times and I still get these errors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about the downloading albums issue. But with the playing video content one, let's try the following user tip:

  • ITunes stopped working ( windows 8.1 v 11.3.1.2)

System is windows 8.1, up to date. iTunes is v 11.3.1.2
Until a few weeks ago, all was OK. But I guess the last update made things go bad.
When I start iTunes, it goes thru some motions and it says it is collecting info from my iTunes library and then it stops and shows this message.
I reinstaled the latest version, copied dlls to the iTunes directory ( as mentionned in blogs ) and it does not work.
Ideas ?  Or where can I getr an older working version ?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • I can't subscribe to Match on Win 7 with iTunes 10.6.3.25. When Apple ID auth window comes up iTunes crashes with "iTunes stopped working" and iTunes closes.

On Windows 7 with iTunes 10.6.3.25 I cannot subscribe to iTunes Match. In iTunes I click on iTunes Match in the left pane then click the "Subscribe for $25 a year" button. A window that looks like I am going to be asked to login using my Apple ID and password starts to come up but then an error occurs and I get a window that says "iTunes stopped working" then iTunes closes. What can I do ?

I've also read somewhere about using Win Rar to extract files to do with apple mobile device support from the itunes installer file, would you recommend that to? I don't really fancy the idea of doing anything that involves my registry because knowing me I'll end up screwing my laptop up for good lol
It's a little more involved than just doing a standalone AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi install, I'm afraid. The relevant drivers in AMDS are not digitally signed for 64-bit XP, so you have to force XP to accept a driver install that it would try its damnedest to not do. There's no driver issues for other 64-bit componentry in the installer package (I think the GEAR drivers install on XP 64-bit systems), but I believe there's still a bit of fancy footwork involved in getting them installed too ... although it's been a long time since I've looked at an instruction set, and I might not be recalling those things correctly. (So if you're not comfortable with system modifications, it might be best to steer clear of the Orca-based techniques ...)

  • Windows 7 - 'iTunes Has Stopped Working' Window Repeatedly Popping Up

Hi there, I've encountered a problem that I couldn't fix myself so I'm hoping someone can impart with some knowledge.
The dreaded 'iTunes has stopped working' window pops up constantly, and continues to reappear again and again. Even navigating to this forum, finding the right place to post and typing this very question is a pain as it has popped up about 7 times since I started typing it. If I leave my laptop alone for a few minutes, I come back and there's about 15 windows open saying the same thing. This is super annoying as I'm trying to get some work done, but any ounce of productivity I have is stifled by this. I am very close to headbutting the screen before I throw my laptop into oncoming traffic on the street below.
I've tried restarting the system, shutting it down and leaving it off for a bit, ending any iTunes-related processes in Task Manager but all have failed.
    I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
    HP Pavilion G6
    4GB RAM
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • ITunes stops working on new PC 64 bit.

ITunes stops working on new PC 64 bit. Have tried the reinstall at least 20 times and it still will not work, just says it has a problem and shuts down. I love my IPod, I have legally bought 5,000 songs from ITunes, I would like to PLAY THEM! I

Try following steps and test one at a time:
    1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
    2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
    MSCONFIG
    Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
    Restart Windows.
    3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
    4. If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR.

I reloaded iTunes 10 (64 bit) successfully, but the problem remains the same.
    Any suggestions?

I looked in the folder from which I want to synch photos, but there is no such thing as an "ipod photo cache" in that folder, or sub-folders, as suggested in the link which you were nice enough to provide.
I have also tried removing photos from my iPad2 Photos App, and "iTunes has stopped working" shows up  again as soon as I click on the "Synch photos from" button.

  • ITunes stopped working. Error 7 (Windows 127)

    Suddenly iTunes stopped working.
At first my HP Pavillion showed the message "Error 7 (Windows 127)". I googled it, and found  a couple of suggestions. I tried to uninstall iTunes and related program files in the right order, but it didn't work.
Now I get this message, and it doesn't help to uninstall iTunes. I allready tried it several times.
After googling the message above, I tried to open the iTunes setup file with winRAR, but that didn't work either.
    Now I get this message:
Something about the procedure point of entry ADAdPolicy... is not found in the DLL-library.
When I click 'OK' I get the same message, as I did to begin with "Error 7 (Windows 127)".
    What am I doing wrong?
I've spend more than 10 hours total, solving this problem, so if anyone can help me, there'll be best wishes and happy thoughts send your way

    Hi @TroelsDanmark ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP Pavilion Notebook and not being able to use ITunes. Can get to safe mode with command prompt?  sfc /scannow would scan your system for errors at the command prompt.
Are you downloading ITunes 12.0.1 for Windows ? Current download available here.
Do you have 400MB of available disk space to accommodate the download?
First, try to click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started
Restart the computer after this step and try installing again.
You could try this Microsoft fix.
Please let me know how this goes.
