ITunes stops wrking @ backup step // odd shortcut missing??
I'm trying 2 sync my iphone w/my itunes & it won't go past the backing up stage. iTunes just stops working & windows tells me there's a problem w/it?? Completely uninstalled & reinstalled iTunes twice & am still having the same problem ;(
There is also a message that popped up after the 2nd reinstallation: "The file or folder 'xeuizek.scr' that this shortcut refers to cannot be found."
What is going on & can anybody please tell me how I can fix this to have my iphone work properly w/iTunes again???? THANK YOU!!
I can't locate that file anywhere & it's not coming up anymore??
When iTunes crashed windows tells me that: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program & notify me if a solution is available. And right after a message @ the bottom of the screen says: to help protect my computer, Data Execution Prevetion (DEP) has closed the program???
I went to get my computer checked & the technician said that it's probably a corrupt file & i just need 2 get rid of those files & it should work fine. But even without all my music iTunes is still not working properly??
What can I do???

Itunes stops before backup is complete
hey, when ever i plug my ipod touch into my computer, itunes begins to sync my ipod touch.
it then begins to backup my ipod but before it finishes, itunes stops.. then closes. i cant put new music, videos,apps, books or anything on my ipod.
i also tryed my sisters ipod touch and it stops while its backing it up aswell.
i've tryed backing it up on icloud but again it just stops.

I have recently erased all content and settings on my iPad2 and performed a restore from both icloud backup and iTunes. On both occasions I am missing some photos. It tells me I am downloading 1641 photos but actually only starts downloading from photo 738, only giving me 903 photos. where have the first 737 photos gone? Can anyone help

I have problem with syncing in itunes and it stared since i installed new version of itunes.it stuck in backup step for houres.what shud i do?
So, in iTunes, when you look at the shuffle's content (in the sidebar) and click on the playlist under the shuffle, over to the right, the songs are in your desired order, correct? Where do you look, or what do you do, that indicates the playlists are in alphabetical order? Are you saying that when you play the songs while using the shuffle, they play in alphabetical order?
If so, when you listen to the songs on the shuffle, are you using the playlist, or are you using the All Songs list? If you are in the default All Songs list, with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order (the middle position), the songs play alphabetically, I believe.
The 3rd gen shuffle uses VoiceOver. If you are in the All Songs list, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to the playlist (see manual linked below for details). When you are in the playlist (with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order), then the songs should play in playlist order.

ITunes doesn't backup my iPhone 3Gs anymore? (randomly stopped)
Recently, i've had the problem of iTunes being unable to backup my iPhone 3Gs.
It's worked perfectly fine, up until the iOS5 update came out. I attempted to download the update, but it seemed to mess with my phone instead. The software wasn't downloaded at all, and instead it cause my phone to refuse to backup. I was still able to sync my phone then, but it came up with this error message:
"iTunes could not back up iPhone because the backup could not be saved on the computer"
I read the discussions online, and some troubleshooting forums on here about how to fix this issue, but nothing worked. Someone suggested that it meant the backup was corrupt, and that deleting that backup from iTunes ('Edit > Preferences > Devices'), as well as from my computer (C:/users/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/MobileSync/Backup), in order for it to make a completely new back up was the way to fix it, so I tried that... but now, my phone can't even sync, and it just made the problem worse -_-
I connect it to iTunes, and it identifies my phone and understands it's there, but when I click sync or backup (right clicking my phone in the 'Devices' side pannel and selecting 'backup') it says: "Syncing "iPhone" (Step 1 of 5) Backing up" and it doesn't move from there. I get a loading bar, and it stays in the same spot, the whole time it's plugged in - even when I unplug it, it still thinks my iPhone is connected, and still says it's trying to backup (Step 1 of 5).
iTunes has attempted to make another backup folder in 'C:/users/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/MobileSync/Backup' for me, and it's named the same, just like my last iPhone backup folder... but I don't understand why, if it's made a folder, why it can't backup my phone in iTunes?
In addition, I can't connect to the iTunes store anymore. It only loads half way when I select the 'iTunes Store' in the side bar. I'm not sure if it's connected to the 'backup' issue i'm also having, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program many times, yet nothing seems to fix either of my problems. Being unable to connect to the iTunes store had occured once before for me, but uninstalling and reinstalling it MANY times fixed the issue... however, spontaneously, connecting to the iTunes store became and issue again after some time. :/
PLEASE. HELP.I had iTunes, AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe, and APSDaemon or something (Apple Push) and they plugged up 100% of my resources. I could not access the store, either. Reinstalled in order per apple support many times. Nothing worked

iMovie '11, what steps am I missing, when I go to SHARE, IDVD is grey and not activated, only ITUNES and MEDIA BROWSER? I want to burn a DVD.
Share your movie to the Media Browser. Then, in iDVD, drag your movie in from the Media Browser at the bottom right.
THe Share to iDVD option is only activated if your source material is DV or AVCHD. -
All of a sudden my iTunes stopped working, and I get the following error messages:
1. the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
and
2. iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Now I've checked the forums and followed the advice of uninstalling all Apple applications, rebooting, and reinstalling iTunes.
This is not working. I've tried installing as Administrator but doesn't make any difference at all.
There must be a way to fix this? I'm not a tech geek but I want to avoid having to take my laptop back to factory settings to sort this out.
ThanksClick here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Itunes stopped working, missing MSVCR80.dll
Suddenly, my itunes stopped working. It told me to reinstall. however, when i try, it fails to reinstall. It gets as far as 'startign services' then stops, saying I don't hav eprivileges to continue (on my own laptop!!).
Then when I try to open itunes i get a message that I am missing MSVCR80.dll

"itunes has stopped working" - when syncing 4s, itunes stops at step 6.
Since updating to 10.5.1.42 itunes stops at step 6 - determining tracks to sync - when syncing with my 4S. The iphone is running 5.0.1
I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, but it still does it! Windows 7 gives me the 'itunes has stopped working and is searching for a solution' line.
Needless to say; it doesn't find one...Here is what worked for me for both 10.5 and 10.5.1 after hoursof frustration with Itunes stopping and shutting down in the middle of a syncor tranferring Apps downloaded on my Ipad2 or Iphone 4:
Start iTunes in iTunes Safe Mode:
1. hold down the Shift and Control key together and clickto start iTunes.
2. when you see the iTunes icon in the task bar, click onit.
3. you will get a box that says "iTunes is running insafe mode. Visual plug-ins you have installed have been termporarilydisabled." [I don't know what plug-ins I installed but youshould clearly see that these so-called visual plug-ins are likely the cause ofyour issues];
4. click Continue to open iTunes.
You could already have your device connected to your computer ordo it after opening iTunes in its safe mode.
Now press your sync button and everything should work fine.
I also disabled Genius in iTunes preferences but I'm not sure ifthis is one of the issues causing these types of problems.
I hope this works. This may be the workaround for all ofus Windows 7 64-bit folks. -
ITunes stopped working when restoring backup to new iPhone 6

I have just bought a new iPhone 6 128GB. I backed up my iPhone 4S to my computer using iTunes 12.0.1. When I tried to start the new iPhone 6 from the back up it restored so far, up to step 5 of 5, but when it tired to sync Apps and Music iTunes stopped working. It has done this over 5 times at exactly the same stage.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1.
I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, turned both the phone and laptop off and back on again. Update all of the Apps on my laptop and installed them all manually on the phone, tried syncing again... and again... and again...
It is now getting extremely infuriating as I have now wasted over 4 hours trying to get Apps and Music on my iPhone 6. The reason for my the 128GB version was so I no longer need to carry and iPod on holiday as I have lots of music. I now can't sync any music!

Itune stops fontionning after Itunes Match has loaded step 2. Why?

I was having this same issue after re-enabling iTunes Match despite it having worked previously.
It turned out to be a problem with some of the new tracks i'd added since the last time it was enabled. To locate them, I had to wait until the match process was on step 2 and got to the point where it stopped matching. It got to something like 9822 of 9870 songs.
In the songs view I then changed the visible fields to include the iCloud Status field, then sorted the songs by this field.
When I scrolled to the bottom there were the exact number of remaining songs sitting on the "Waiting" status. All of these were new additions. I removed them from the library and retried the match and it completed perfectly. I'm now re-adding the songs back into the library one album at a time to see if they will match now.

ITunes stops at Step 3 of 6 "preparing to sync"
i have a iphone 3gs 32 gb on version 5.0.1. i tried several times to sync it with itunes. Itunes reads my device loads Step 1 and 2 but for some reasons it stops loading at Step 3 "preparing to sync" the bar doesnt freeze it just keeps going endlessly and doesnt continue on to Step 4, 5, or 6.
Update your iTunes to the newest version.
Try different USB cable, Different USB port.
Should solve it.
If not, try other computer! -
When i connect my iphone 3GS to my PC, while syncing in progress, pc shows backing up, preparing to sync. Then message display "itunes stopped working",

You can't "copy" your photos to the "library manager", there is just no way to any such thing.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me find a solution to my problem.
When a backup is attempted, it starts off as if it's working, then stops and the following error message appears: "iTunes could not backup iPhone because the iPhone disconnected". But, the iPhone doesn't really disconnect! It must be some type of internal glitch.
The iPhone is a 3GS and I have mostly pictures and contacts, two songs, a total of 33 apps. The iOS is updated (6.1.6). I do not know if this phone was ever jailbroke. I have been able to backup this phone before, but cannot now. The last backup was 9/21/13, it is now 3/2/14.
Sorry if there is too much info, or not the correct info to find a solution!
Also, I must say that although I am not a tekkie, I've seen many different types of various programs and I find that iTunes is not very intuitive...don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, just my humble opinion.

A big THANK YOU!! to you! Your suggestions worked!
Before I changed USB ports (more on that in a sec...), I employed one of your suggestions that you gave to someone else with the same problem...and that was to clean the connector on the bottom of the phone with a soft dry tooth brush. I couldn't believe the amount of lint that came out! Especially what was found in either end...had to do some very careful picking. (Almost enough lint to knit a small sweater!!)
Changing the USB port was the second and final step required for a successful backup. My computer is a laptop, and I did have a USB Bluetooth adapter (for another device) installed. I removed the adapter, plugged the iPhone into that USB port, crossed my fingers...and it worked!!!
Now if I can figure out the rest of this darn program, I might upgrade to a new iPhone!
