ITunes Store Access
Cannot connect to iTunes Store, error message asks to check internet connection and have followed all apple suggestions to resolve to no avail. Can anyone help please, this has only just occurred, have been using previously for two years with no probs. Only thing I can think of is I'm now using Firefox instead of Explorer.
Thanks

When accessing iTunes Store from iTunes, which has worked well for several years, it stops half-way through progress bar and then I get the "iTunes has Stopped working...Windows is checking..."..then " A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you..."
Probably not a related problem, but also, when synching with an iPhone that I recently reset, copying just 188 tracks in selected playlists to transfer to the iPhone, the copying stops and hangs after just a few tracks, so this is unsuccessful too.
Another iPhone worked a synch but fewer tracks to download!
I've uninstalled and re-installed iTunes 9.2 etc - doesn't fix problem. Any help please?Wow, that is crazy .... but it worked! Thanks for taking the time to post that up as I would never have even dreamed of thinking that the display drivers would stop iTunes working... that *****.
For any one else - this was Windows Vista on a Dell inspiron, went to Start menu-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Device Manager -> Display Adaptors -> right click on ATI Radeon (in my case) and then "Update driver software" and let windows search the web -
Iphone 3G - itunes store access due to incorrect Apple ID- Need to reset
Hi,
Thank you in advance for any help that can be provided.
I have my own Apple ID and the associated password and it works as it should when accessing the itunes store from my laptop. However, I noticed that on my new Iphone 3G when I go to sign in to the itunes store it is showing my Apple ID as someone else, thus it won't accept my password.
Ever heard of this? Is there an easy way for me to delete this on my Iphone and put my Apple ID? As I noted, there is no trouble with this via my laptop.
Thanks.Contact itunes support:

I had to restore my PC to factory settings and then reinstalled itunes. I now can't access the itunes store - the moving bar at the top had been going for 45 minutes this time and I've deinstalled and reinstalled twice already.

ITunes store access and downloading (including podcasts) is SLOW :(
This has been going on for a week now and it's getting quite frustrating. On my laptop, iTunes has all of a sudden decided that downloads are going to be super slow, to the point where most files are not downloaded and I get a -3259 error of some sort. I am running iTunes 7.5 and Windows XP. I had been using 7.5 for a while until this problem started. My desktop computer is also running XP and 7.5 and I have no problems downloading through iTunes at the usual speed.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes with no success. I even installed a new copy of Itunes and moved the iTunes pref file and the library and xml files and iTunes downloads were still slow. I have not installed or uninstalled any programs recently.
The podcasts downloads are quick, but only if I download them directly from the site hosting the file. If I use iTunes, the downloads are painfully slow and most of the time do not finish!
I have even attempted to plug in the DSL line into my laptop directly and iTunes was still slow with downloads. Also, it takes a couple of minutes to access the homepage of the iTunes store.
I really don't know if there is anything else I can do? This is really annoying since I had to use my other computer to download a TV show and then transfer it to my laptop with a thumb drive. Any ideas, anyone?I was never able to figure out the cause of my problem, but I was able to resolve it somewhat. I created another user account and iTunes was back to normal. I then just moved my iTunes library file to the new user account (and I spent a few hours getting all the other stuff changed - such as email in Outlook, etc).
So I'm back to normal, so if anyone else has this problem, try a different user account on the same computer. -
Parental controls interferes with iTunes Store access
My daughter's account is set up to use Parental Controls. Under Tiger, she had no problems getting to the iTunes Store. Under Leopard, we get an "unknown error" (with a "-4" in it somewhere), every time.
If I turn off the parental controls for her account, she can get to the iTunes Store. If I turn them back on, she can't.
(On a related note, toggling Parental Controls seems to lose all of your settings... That is, the workaround to my iTunes Store problem might be to disable Parental Controls when she wants to access the store). That's a pain, though, because all of the "allow" / "don't allow" settings that I've established are lost, every time.)
She's got access to iTunes (and iTunes Helper, whatever that is), so it's not like I've prevented her from using iTunes. Again, worked fine under Tiger.
Is there a permanent fix to this?Same problem.
Here is a workaround that works for me: I go to the iTunes Music Store and enter a search term in the search box, "The Monkees," for example. The search takes me to the Search Results screen. From there, if I click on an Artist or Album link, to "escape" out of the Search Results screen, the navigation path at the top has the home icon, music, genre, etc. buttons available. If I click on the home button, I get the long wait followed by an error. But I can click on the next level below, Music, and get pretty much everywhere in the music store.
And I've also temporarily turned off parental controls to debug this and lost all the allow / deny settings... very annoying.
The most difficult thing about trying to solve the parental control problems is that it is not always clear what is causing the problem. For example, amazon.com works fine when allowed, but once you go into secure mode most parts of the site fail to load properly, no matter what you add to the allow list in parental controls. Something about parental controls "fails to establish a secure connection." Turning off parental controls fixes the problems, but then you have no parental controls. -

Itunes store access causes itunes to be not responding?
This is pretty strange -- at my home all this works fine -- I select itunes store and I can navigate and select things and even run diagnostics and everything works fine. At my office (where I have network control) when I click on the itunes store, the programs instantly goes into not responding mode and can only be shut down through the task manager. The same thing happens if I run diagnostics -- instantly get the windows message that say this program has performed a fatal error and needs to close. I can restart itunes and I can play music from my library and stream it as well -- I can even go to look at my online account options -- check my balance -- all of which requires a connection, but if I click on the home icon -- the program hangs -- this used to work just fine, but I believe stopped working upon my upgrade to itunes 8.
If I could identify what itunes is doing when it tries to connect to the store and run diagnostics, perhaps I could check and see if there are any problems in the network issues.UPDATE: I authorized the computer -- which itunes confirmed was already authorized, but now the itunes store works -- go figure.

Itunes store access problem on iphone 4
Cannot connect to itunes store on iphone 4 after software upgrade to the latest version. Please help!!!
I'm anxious for a solution as well. I have tried all kinds of "tricks" (which there shouldn't have to be any at this point) suggested here for other models of iPhone, I've tried transferring to iTunes then back again, deleting files off iPhone and trying downloads again, etc. There is no pause button that comes up for me to hit (as suggested in another thread), either. I am afraid that because I was only given the option on my iPhone to rent HD movies that I will lose them because they are not able to be transferred to iTunes. It is too bad the iTunes store doesn't give you the automatic option to rent either HD or standard when you buy it. And the HD icon is faint gray on the right of the screen so you do not see it on a tiny little phone screen. I think I've just wasted $15 bucks.

ITunes store access failure causes Apple TV to remove a lot of content
I've recently been experiencing a problem where the Apple TV will drop a great deal of content upon starting iTunes on my Windoze machine. iTunes reports it cannot connect with the iTunes store so it drops everything. Is there any way to disable this? It takes about an hour to put everything back on the Apple TV. Personally I don't see why a failed connection to the iTunes store should mean that all my content (not purchased content) should be tossed from the AppleTV. Thanks.

Are you sure that the two are related. Have you recently updated anything on your system. -

Can no longer access Itunes store
Sudeenly yesterday I cant access the Itunes store.
When I click on the store, I just see the scrolling barbers pole at the top of the screen and the message ""Accessing Itunes store."" It never gets any further
Ive disabled all my security, ive done the winsock reset and restarted my PC ((many times) I downloaded the LSP list from windows, and the list is huge, with many suppliers listed. It would take days to try and update all of that.
SURELY there is an easier solution to this problem. Clearly Im not the only one having it.
Please help

Try this if you are having the same troubles -
I cannot access the iTunes store from any of my computers. When I updated to v. 10.7 it made my laptop unable to access just like with my two desktops. I have installed and uninstalled numerous times.
Nothing happens. iTunes just hangs up every time, saying "Accessing iTunes Store." It does that for a very, very long time, then nothing. Here is what happens when I run diagnostics.
