Itunes store account info gone...new computer

I got a new computer. All the music is fine, but when I log into itunes store the balance of my gift card does not show. My library also doesn't show "purchases" even though the songs are in my library. Any ideas??

Welcome to AD!
For the account balance, try signing out of the store and then signing back in.
For the purchases not showing up in the green Purchased playlist, you'll have to fix the library on your new PC to show them. New purchases will automatically go in there - try a free single of the week. But this new library doesn't know about hte previous purchases yet.
Make sure your view options are set to show "Kind". Then click on the "Kind" column header. Anything that starts with Protected or Purchased, drag over into the purchased playlist.
Another way to do it would be make a smart playlist with Kind = Purchased and drag them over. Then a 2nd smart playlist with Kind=Protected.

  • Move old iTunes Store account over to new MobileMe account

I currently have two iTunes accounts, one linked to my old Hotmail email and the second one is connected to my MobileMe. At the moment, all purchases done with my iPhone are linked to that Hotmail account, which I'm trying to close down.
Is there a way to copy/move/merge the information in the hotmail account, and switch it over to my MobileMe account?
    Many thanx in advance

First, I don't think simply closing the e-mail account means that you must close the iTunes account. The e-mail address is simply your ID for the iTunes Store account. (And I believe you should be able to change the e-mail address associated with the account so that you still receive receipts, etc. This seems to vary, though. Some users are able to change this while others are not.)
Second, this question has been asked before, and the general response has been that it's not possible. But others have suggested contacting store support. You can reach them here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/. Also...the following link has a question about consolidating Apple IDs. It might prove useful: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE37

  • Downloading iTunes Store old apps to new computer

I just recenly bought a new iMac and I was wondering how I might auto download all the apps and music I have purchased to my new iTunes. I want to sync my iPhone to my new computer, but I don't want to erase all the apps that are on there. However, when I log into my iTunes account, it doesn't seems to recognize and/or auto download all the stuff I've purchased in the past. Is there a way to make this happen? I tried transfering all my settings from my old Mac to the new one, but I am not having much luck with that at the moment. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks for any info and have a great day.

doesn't seems to recognize and/or auto download all the stuff I've purchased in the past
    Because it won't.
You need to copy the files from your old computer or from the backup you made to move to the new computer.

  • ITunes Store account info problem . . .

    Hi everybody.
I'm having this strange issue on my early 2011 MacbookPro 15" (Os X 10.7.4).
In iTunes (v 10.7), as i log in my account with my apple user ID and password it connects to the store perfectly.
Then if i try to see the account info from the menu, it asks me the password again, but as i type it and press ok the window with that password request pops up again....and it goes like this forever.
Same thing happens if i try to buy something on the store: the password request windows popup (to confirm billing details), but as i type in the password it pos up again and again forever.
I tried to remove all the preferences, the itunes folder, including all the library....no results.
I tried to create another account and with it itunes is working perfect, no issues.....
I use little snitch to control connections, but i tried turning it off completely...same problem on my main account.
I don't use the system firewall, and yes i tried in different locations with different internet connections.
    What can i do ? ? ?
    thanks for helping !!!

Open iTunes on your computer and connect to the store. Then connect your phone and sync.

  • HT1727 How can i get my old downloaded songs back that were purchased from my account to a new computer?

I deauthorized all my old computers to make it so my sister and I could get ITunes on our new computers, I authorized my computer now and i will authorize hers tomorrow but its not showing my past purchages on itunes in my library. How do I get my old songs back?

Have you copied them from your old computer via one of the methods described on the page that you posted from ? Your music will only show on your new computer's iTunes library if you put it onto it, so you will either need to copy it from your old computer, from your backup of your library and add it via File > Add To Library, or (depending upon whether you are in a country where you can re-download music and if the music is still in the store) you might be able to re-download your purchases via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your new computer.

I believe that all audiobooks are supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time only download. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, not good, then you can redownload some purchases in some countries.

  • HT1692 Have recently installed itunes and outlook on a new computer.  Have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, Help!

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit
My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks in anticipation

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

    I am a bit of a computer/Internet/iTunes dummy....
I am concerned about the health of my current computer but have not yet made the commitment to a new one, but:
    1) How can I transfer my iTunes account to a new computer when I get one...
    and
    2) What can I do if my current computer suddenly implodes and I have not yet 'copied/'saved'/otherwise protected my account, as is? -- I have already had my computer crash once and had one of your people help me restore all of the paid for songs (none of the uploaded from my own collection of CD songs, of course, so I had to spend a long time rebuilding that) -- and I believe I was told you could only help me recover that material one or two times altogether, no?
WithOUT purchasing a Mach or iCloud (I actually think I have one of the later, but rarely have checked it) account, is there anything I can do to responsibly protect my account?
Thanks for any time taken on this!!!

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should  merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.
