ITunes Store and Podcasts

I recently found out that one can no longer subscribe, download, and/or listen to a Podcast without registering with the iTunes Store. To register, one needs a credit card or (supposedly) an iTunes gift card. I do not have a credit card, and until what little music on there that I actually like is upgraded to 256 kbps I have no intention on buying an iTunes gift card just so I can access what's supposed to be free.
1) Someone mind telling me who's bright f u c king idea this was?
2) Does anyone know a way around this most asinine idea ever?

Subscribe to podcasts using some other software.

The iTunes Store receives a percentage of all sales of music. Contact Apple via their web page for iTunes Marketing.
They’ve reportedly been swamped with requests, so don’t be surprised if you don’t hear back from them soon or indeed ever. If you don't hear from them, you might want to consider signing up with an indie label or marketing service that already has a relationship. In another post, an Apple employee said that there are 600 already, including CD Baby and IODA. A new service that seems promising if true is TuneCore.

Help -- Can not connect to the itunes store or podcasts

Here is my problem, for over two months I have not been able to connect to my itunes store or podcasts. I use to be able to connect by wireless, now I can not. I have tried to connect at different locations, same result, sorry cannot connect to apple itunes store. I can not even connect with a hardline. I am using a mac book with mac os x 10.5.8. and I am using the latest itunes download. Please help.

Why does my iTunes only show iTunes U and podcast options at the bottom. I just want to be able to watch movies on my iPad :(
Plus when I go to the videos app and tap go to iTunes Store I get a blue message that says "cannot connect to iTunes Store".
Help please, very frustrated as I'm not at all tech savvy

Currently Pakistan only has apps, podcasts, iTunes U and free ibooks, so you won't see music, films and TV shows - if/when they will be available there will depend upon when the content providers allow Apple to sell their content.
For music are there other music purchase download sites that you have access to ? If you do, and they are in a compatible format, then you should be able to add them to your computer's iTunes library via File > Add To Library and you can then sync them to your iPad. You can also copy your own CDs via your computer's iTunes

I would recommend the troubleshooting steps outlined in sections 1, 3, and 5 of the iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/. If you get to section 3 I would close all the apps. Here is section 1 to get you started:
Restart iPhone
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Is iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If your device does not turn on or displays a red battery icon, try recharging next.

Itunes Store and Help not working + Ipod not backing up

Hey everyone,
Its been like this for about a month or two...
I click on itunes store and it opens but gets halfway and never loads any further. Ive tried everything you can imagine. Proxy servers, uninstall and install, etc.
PLUS!
My ipod touch isnt backing up. It too also gets half way then stops. Then when i try to sync it it does everything but backs up then at the end says "Itunes could not back up the ipod because a session could not be started with the ipod"
so i went in and deleted all my backups till the most recent one, tried again and no luck.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!! :'(

It will take a couple of days for the artwork to show up. However in you case the URL to your artwork or the filename may be wrong.
You have a URL of http://www.hopecbc.org/imagefiles/podcast.png listed. I get a 404 error when I try to pull it up in a web browser. Same thing with the URLs to your MP3 files.
Looking at your website and checking the resources page that lists the sermons for downloads the URL's look to actually have upper and lowercase letters in them, while the urls in your XML do not. Your server is case sensitive, so
http://www.hopecbc.org/mp3files/sermons/hebrews/082607amgodfreyhebrews11.mp3
which is in your XML is different from
http://www.hopecbc.org/mp3Files/Sermons/Hebrews/082607amgodfreyhebrews11.mp3
which seems to be the correct url.
Correct them and it will probably work...

Movies i bought from the itunes store and they wont sync to my ipod

I had bought an ipod for my daughters birthday n i had purchased several movies from the itunes store and they downloaded n they show up in my library n wheni check them to sync to her ipod....it shows a pop up block that says that it cannot be copied to this ipod cause it is not supportrd by this ipod. my baby is really wanting to use it n I downloaded the itunes 10 & updated her ipod software to 4.3.3 i think that i did all the necessary updated and downloads now what do i do...i've been on this comp eversince 11:00am this morning and it is still now 1:29am....i dont know....if anyone has any suggestions..they r welcomed

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Have you actually selected them to be synced to your device from the iTunes sync settings.

Edit > Preferences. Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.

What country are you in ? Depending upon what country that you are in then you might be able to redownload them on your Mac's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the iTunes store homepage
If you're not in a country where TV programmes can be redownloaded then connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and use the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over from your iPad

The movie would be in your iTunes library, in the Movies application. However, if the rental period has expired, you may need to contact the iTunes Store Support about your situation:
