ITunes Store App crashing after iOS7 update

Hi. Yesterday I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7. Now every time I try to open the app it crashes. It just won't open. I tried signing out and gorse restarting my iPhone but no luck. Any suggestions ?

Hey. I solved the problem by erasing everything in my iPhone and setting it as new. However if you don't want to lose everything try erasing all content and settings on the settings. Then restoring it from a backup

Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it. So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID). If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections.

• ITunes Store App Crashes 5s

I have a new 5s and I am unable to open the iTunes Store App. Looking on the feed I was only able to see one answer. I have restarted my phone and I have signed out of and back into iTunes with no luck. App crashes within a sec of trying to open. Need some help!
Thanks

Hi dsbrew1,
First, try signing out of your account in Settings > iTunes & App Store. Once signed out, force close the iTunes Store application and restart your device. After you have restarted, go ahead and sign back in.
If the above did not resolve your issue, you may need to restore your device:

• ITunes Store App Crashes! Help!!

Installed the iOS 7 GM on my iPhone 5 last week and everything was working fine. Yesterday, I tried to open the iTunes Store app and it crashes every single time. It didn't happen until yesterday when the update went live, so could it just be overloaded servers? It opens on my iPad 3 (also with iOS 7) but just crashes on my iPhone. Is anyone else experiencing this?

But still, it's the current version right? Does it matter when I installed it? I plug my phone into my Mac, launch iTunes and it tells me I am running the latest software. If there were no updates between the GM and the public release then isn't it essentially the same thing?

• Ios8.1 ITunes Store app crashes upon gifting

When I try to gift a TV episide, iTunes Store app promptly crashes. I've tried multiple fixes all of which work once and then crashing resumes. Any suggestions or wait til ios8.2?

Have you tried resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.
If yes, do as JimHdk suggested and report it to Apple.

Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

• Ipad2 crashing after ios7 update?

Hi,
I Updated my ipad2 this morning and it immediatly crashed and i had to connect it to itunes on my macbook to get it back on again where i had to restore to factory settings. I had to reinstal IOS7 and now its installed it only lets me use the ipad for aprox 3 mins before craching to the black sreen with the Apple logo in the middle for a couple of mins then it goes back on and lets me in again for a few mins then it crashes... over and over and over. Ive tried rebooting but this doesnt work.
Please can some one help?
Thanx

I have tried this process OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I am absolutely positive that the update to iOS 7.04 killed the ipad 2. I never had a single problem with it. Never dropped it. It worked perfectly until I let it update to 7.04. Then it died.
Now I get the flashing white apple/gray apple. When I try all of the restore instructions I have found online, including the one above, the ipad goes all the way through the restore process until the very end... and then it crashes and goes right back to the white/gray apple.
I have had Apple professionals tell me its hardware related... but it was clearly the upgrade to the crappy iOS 7.04 that did it. How do I know it? Because it also happened to my iphone 4S....which I was able to restore. It would be quite the coincidence that both would go down at the same time, right?
And lets be honest, even though the iphone was restored, iOS runs like crap. Slow, delays, apps crash... if Apple doesn't make some changes soon, I'm just going to get rid of them and go with another provider. I've been an Apple guy my whole life... but as soon as we lost Steve Jobs the iOS went to crap.
Maybe there is an actual solution other than keep trying it over and over again. ???

• Apps crashing after ios5 update.

I had upgraded iPad 2 to iOS 5.after this many of the third party apps crashes suddenly. To name some of them include , accuweather, toi.
I did deleted all the apps & freshly installed them after iOS5 upgrade. Is this bug in iOS5. Is there any fix?

I have the same issue. This is what I've tried so far and nothing has worked:
1. Downloaded a free app and installed it. I agreed to all of the App Store's new agreements.
2. Rebooted the iPad 2.
3. Logged-in to iTunes while connecting the iPad 2 to my PC.
The only semi-solution is to reinstall all third party apps manually(delete first, then go to the App store and re-install each indivdual App).
They should have found this big issue in beta.
Also, I noticed text looks a bit blurred on my iPad 2 now. When i type 2 lowercase "l"s next to each other, they appear as 2 "l"s.

• ITunes 11.2 crashes after recent update

I have iTunes 11 for Windows 7, after the most recent update I beleive, iTunes will now crash everytime I luanch it. When I fire up iTunes, it'll load my library then 15 seconds later iTunes will stop working and close out. I get no error message. Need help to fix this issue.
Thanks

Scott, that's a fair question! I incrementally made those adjustments over about 8 or 10 attempts as iTunes would crash not long after starting up.
When I would turn on iTunes, I could see on the "home page screen" that is was updating Genius and somehow I also noticed it was syncing or downloading Podcasts. I had already deleted the Sync Services Folder and emptied the trash, yet it kept crashing. I also would try and "x" out the Genius progress bar to stop it, but not long after it would crash. So on another attempt, I started trying to "turn off" Genius via to the Store pull down menu . It would appear to turn off, but by then iTunes would crash. And when I restarted iTunes I would see Genius try to update or sync all over again, whatever it does, and I would check the Store pull down menu and Genius was still on.
The next thing I tried was after turning Genius off, I shut down iTunes, hoping to "Save" the setting as off. I think that was how I succeeded in shutting off Genius.
In a mix of adjustments I also turned off what I could with the Podcasts.
It's been six hours now with no crashes, and I played a big high def movie file via ethernet out of my Mac Pro to Apple TV, so my iTunes 11.2.1 is basically in good shape.
Good luck to everyone.

• ITunes, Skype, Dashbard crashing after software update...???

Did an OS (OS X 10.6.8) , iTunes (10.3.1.355) and firmware etc last week. Now iTunes, Skype, Dashboard and Office My Day crash when operating. Cannot sync anything to iTunes without crashing, can listen to music but try to connect to the store it crashes. Can log onto skpe, but try to make or receive calls it crashes. Open Dashboard and select Widgets it crashes... Any ideas or suggestions much appreciated...!

Found a solution - see below...
Hope it helps anyone else having the same problem.
1. Verified and Repaired Permissions using the Disk Utility. disk utility is in application then utilites
2. Booted in Safe Mode and was able to launch Safari.
To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), do this: Be sure your Mac is shut down. Press the power button. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
3. Downloaded and installed the 10.6.8 Combo Update. 10.6.8 combo update is here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
4. Reboot normally.

• Apps crashing after ios8 update

Hi,
Firstly congratulations on the overwhelming response to Apple 6 and big Apple 6 , now for the bad news after I upgraded my os to ios8 I'm having issues with most of th apps like you tube, flipkart, what's app facebook etc while most of the time there seems a lag for sometime than the app opens most of the time while browsing the apps crash and I have to restart again from the menu, also the swipe takes some time to move and is not as swift as it used to be some problem looks in there on the menu kindly help I thought it was due to shortage of memory I deleted all my pictures before the update and have a lot of memory this is happening after the update

Try resetting your device. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot. You can also try force closing the apps. Double tap the home button. Then flick the previews upand off the screen to close the apps, then single tap the home button to exit the mode.
Some apps do seem to have been broken by iOS8, and you'll just have to wait for the developers to fix them. Facebook for example I've seen several people talking about it not working as well. If iOS8 has broken the app all you can do is wait for the developer to fix it.
There are two kinds of memory. THe RAM, which is what helps you to multitask, and then the storage memory. You deleting photos just removes the storage memory, it doesn't help with the RAM. And it's possible that the lack of RAM is what's causing slowness and crashing. iOS8 does place more demands on the device than 7 did, so it will effect performance.

• The iTunes Store app crashes every time I try to purchase a song on my 2nd generation iPod touch

Every time I try to purchase a song and hit buy, the app closes. I've tried restarting my iPod several times but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out and sign back in
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

• App crashes after Security Update 2013-002

I have installed Security Update 2013-002 on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and now certain apps like Safari, Software Update, Mail, Adobe Reader crash with a segmentation fault. Other apps like Photoshop, Google Chrome work fine.
I found a thread on here of someone who was having a similar problem with Chrome crashing and he fixed it by repairing Disk Permissions but thats not made any difference to me.
Any ideas?

Test in Safe Boot to see if the crashes happen there. MIght also try testing from a different account.
Shift key at the startup chime and expect a much longer time to boot up. No Wi-Fi in Safe Boot, so if that's how you connect you won't be able to go anywhere. But you will be able to see if Safari, or Software Update, for example, are still crashing on open.

• Mail.app crashed after installing update for OSX 10.8.5.

When I open it it starts to import the mailboxes but crashes after about 10 minutes when about a quarter of the messages have been imported.
Please advise me how to restore Mail.
Thanks

Do a backup.
Quit Mail.
In Finder, hold down the option/alt key while selecting Go from the Finder menu bar. Select Library. or select Go to Folder and paste in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail. Select Containers/com.apple.mail. Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.
Information learned from Linc Davis.
You can make your user library permently visible with the following Terminal Command.
chflags nohidden ~/Library/
