ITunes Store - change country

I still have $0.1USD in my account which is pretty useless. I want to change my country to Canada since that's where my billing info is now... but it seems that I can't change country info until I use up the $0.1USD. What should I do? Any suggesions?
Thanks.

I have the same problem...I have 62 cents left and I want t change the country.
How can I spend or even delete those cents without having to enter a billing address or credit card info. Is there perhaps a way to delete my own account?
thx

  • Poor iTunes store in country of residence...can I change?

I am South African and live in Qatar and am on the Qatar istore. The Qatar store virtually deems any Apple products almost useless even though we have paid the same for the product as the available content is so poor. Can I open another iTunes account in a different country without having an account there?
without a solid itunes store, what is the point in having the product?

Sorry but no. You can only use the iTunes Store of the country in which you are physically present and have a valid payment method.
As to the content available in your country, Apple can only sell what the content owners are willing to license for sale there. I'd suggest you contact the owners of the content you would like to purchase and urge them to make it available in the iTunes Store in Qatar. I see a lot of apps, music and films available in the Qatar iTunes Store, and you can of course import your own CDs, so I don't see how an iPhone et. al. could be classified as useless.

  • App Store changing country - store credit

    Hi
please can someone help me - I've searched in the discussions but not found answers to my problem.
I need to change my account from Switzerland to Austria but when I try the app store says:
You have a store credit balance; you must spend your balance before you can change stores.
I have 0,20CHF - I can't buy anything for that, so I can't spend the money (I don't have a credit card that I can use on iTunes either so I can't add more credit and then spend the money).
I don't care about losing the 0,20 franks, I just want to be able to change my account information. Anyone?
I'd very much appreciate it! Thanks

You need to contact the Swiss iTunes Support and request that your account's credit be zeroed out so that with a zero balance you can switch the account to another country's iTunes Store.

  • Can't download songs from iTunes Store - Changed/Invalid Email??

This is probably a really stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. On my iPod Touch, running the latest firmware, I tried to download a song off the iTunes Store. It prompts me for my password and the account name it has listed is correct. However, I receive the following error:
Your email address has changed or is invalid. Go to the iTunes Store on your computer and update your Account info.
I'm at work now, so needless to say I don't have access to my home computer. I'm not sure why I'd be receiving this message as my iTunes account information hasn't changed in years and all my purchased music plays just fine on my Touch.
My email is a Yahoo account, however, I have my Mail client on the Touch set up to retrieve my DotMac account only. Is that perhaps an issue here? I wouldn't think so since I thought the Touch got the iTunes account info from syncing with iTunes on the host computer.
Is there any configuration that can be changed on the Touch to rectify this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Curt,
Well, to solve this problem you only need to connect your iPod to the computer. I'm not sure why this happened, but if your iPod have access to your iTunes Store account, then it will automatically update your missing info.
You just need to authorize your computer and connect your iPod.
    So you have two options:
    Do it when you arrive home, connecting it to your home computer;
    or
Fist authorize your work computer, the connect your iPod. If you want, you can deauthorize this computer after finishing the process.
Unfortunately there's nothing you can do directly on your iPod Touch
    Hope this helps!

  • ITunes store from country I am residing in

I'm living in Europe for awhile from the US. My iTunes store account is for access to the US store, how can I get access to the iTunes store from the country I am currently residing?

If you still want to use the US iTunes Store, then as long as you still have a credit card with a billing address in the US, you can continue to use the US Store. You will not be able to use the US Store if your credit card now is being billed to a Norway address.
If you want to open an account in the Norway iTunes Store, you'll need a Norwegian credit card or an iTunes prepaid card purchased in Norway.
    Regards.

  • Itunes Store Home Country Mysteriously Switched

I opened my iTunes store recently and searched for an album, however, once I found it I noticed the prices were all in "Kr" which I found out is the abbreviation for currency in either Norway or Sweden. How would my Store have switched like that? I know that I didn't do it because I don't know how to...the program prompted me to return to the U.S. store when I signed in, so the problem is fixed. I just want to know if I was hacked or something else happened that would have caused the switch in the first place. Thanks for any help

I'm a rookie on iTunes and the same happened to me. I went looking for a German song on the German site, forgetting how I had reached there. Try this : go to the iTunes-Store home page (the thing that looks like a garden shed in the top-left-hand corner of the store panel is the link) ; at the bottom of the page should be -- assuming your page the same as ours -- a little button with part of a Norwegian autc. flag on it. Select United States from the list next to it and, when the page comes back, you should see Betsy Ross instead.
Hope this works ; I'm actually seeking a solution to another problem ! Merry Christmas.

  • Changing country - changing iTunes account

I need help to make sure which direction I should take.
I live in Sweden and move to the UK. I have an iTunes account with credit card, which I would like to change to a UK account in order to keep my Apple ID and not to create a new one.
I learned that it is easy to change country / address / credit card info in iTunes, but I am afraid that I will not see my purchase history and I will not be able to update my apps later on.
Is there any way to fix it? Or I have to create a new account in the UK...
    Any idea?
    Thanks

I wrote to iTunes store support about just such an issue, and this was the response:
    1) If you have any store credit, you will need to use the credit before you can change countries in your account.
    2) You will need to download all purchased content before changing countries. In addition, rented items must be past their 30 day expiration in order to change countries. For more information on rentals, please visit:
iTunes Store: Movie rental frequently asked questions (FAQ)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657
    3) You will be asked to provide a payment method, such as a credit card or debit card associated with a valid billing address in the new country. An iTunes Store Gift Card issued in the new country is also an acceptable payment method. You will not be able to change your account's country without providing one of these methods of payment.
    4) Content purchased from the iTunes Store is country-specific. If you wish to upgrade any of your iTunes Store content to iTunes Plus, you'll need to do so before you change the country associated with your account. The content you purchased while your account was set to the previous country will not be eligible for upgrade once you have changed countries.
    5) When you change countries, you will no longer receive app update notifications on your iOS device or in iTunes for the apps you purchased in your original country. However, you will still be able to download those applications again for free if they are present on your new country's store (even if they are updated). You will not be charged and the download will not appear on your Purchased page. If the app is not available in your new country, you will not be able to download it again for free.

  • Itunes Store account cancelled

My Itunes Store is TEMPORARALY DISABLED... They give me a site to go to Itunes Support & I have been unable to contact anyone or a link that can help

Never set up a different account.  Purchases made with an account can only be authorized to that account and cannot be transferred.  You need to go back to using that account and change the settings so it is authorized in your new country.  Accounts cannot be deleted, just abandoned, so the old account does indeed exist.
