Itunes Store does not start up. Rest of itunes is ok. Solution?
Greetings,
Called Apple on my itunes store problem with iMac. Was told by one guy it would cost 49 $ CHF € ?? or whatever. Called again and was told to reinstall my OSX 10.6. Seems too drastic.
Also was told that maybe setting up another account would help. Did that but no success.
Also went through this list too.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Anything else to try? Running an old iMac with 10.6.8
Thanks for any help,
Regards, Irving
Your company could well be blocking the connection, if you're on the company network. Before you go through a lot of troubleshooting, I'd suggest you ask your IT department about it. That might save you a lot of unnecessary work if they are indeed blocking.
If they say they're not blocking the iTunes Store, or you have the computer at home, not at work, post back and we'll take it from there. when you post back, please mention the version of iTunes you're running, and how you are connecting to the Internet.
Regards.

ITunes store does not accept my Password anymore.
ITunes store does not accept my Password anymore.
I'm still having the same problem ... 6 months after your original post! I've just had to reset my pw 2 days in a row, and I've been through so many resets over the past 6 months that I'm running out of ideas for passwords that I'll have a reasonable chance of remembering. But I also always make a careful note of my important passwords, and after the 1st "password error" message, I check my list and enter the password very slowly and carefully. So, I think I'm pretty safe in claiming that neither entering the wrong password nor making a typo is the problem!
Oddly, though, I could usually cancel the password-reset process, then go right to the the iTunes Store, where my password would work fine, allowing me to open and view all my account details.
Several months ago, I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Tech Support trying to get this fixed. He was great and we thought he'd found the problem with my account. (When I originally set up my iTunes account 6 years ago, I used a different email address than I used when I set up my new Mac last year, and that seemed to be causing some sort of conflict within my account. Hard to imagine someone might change email addresses sometime over a 6-year period, right? But apparently, the software designers didn't cover that possibility with one of their recent updates of the master system for customers' accounts -- that's the Tech Rep's surmise, not mine.)
Everything seemed to work fine for a few weeks, but then the problem started occurring again ... over and over and over ... -

Itunes does not start and i cannot sync my iphone 4
I have installed Itunes 10.1.1.4 on my computer running Windows XP but it does not start. This prevent me to sync my new iphone 4.
Previously I had other versions of itunes on the computer and sometimes the same problem happened.
I did a search on Apple support and I followed the instructions (itunes disinstallation and reinstallation) but it didn't work.
I tried also to disable all the startup app but itunes using msconfig (as again suggested by apple) but it din't work as well.
Somewhere on internet I found that Bonjour could create the problem: using services.msc I disabled it but it din't work as well.
I would appreciate very much if someone could help me.
Thanks in advance.

GiovanniHello tomcat.vdm,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:

Best of luck,

The search function in the itunes store does not work. It will accept a request and suggest searches but then it locks up and will not search. Clicking on the magnifying glass or a suggested search does nothing. Re-installing itunes has not helped.
everything you stated here is exactly what i have done and have got nowhere. i have windows 7 64 bit on a hp 8 g of ram desktop. im also looking for help

That said, please post relevant error messages from your server logs (system and mail),

Itunes does not start automatically when I plug in my iPhone. When I start it manually, it never recognizes the phone although it does ask if I want to download pictures etc. Many albums have no art work that use to. iTunes completely unresponsive to the mouse.

ITunes Store does not show author and "album artwork" of my podcast
Although all information is available - the itunes store does not mention the author and "album artwork" of my podcast - if podcast is downloaded, album artwork is shown...
How can I add the informatin (especially that author is not "unknown" anymore)
http://itunes.apple.com/de/podcast/nie-mehr-schuchtern-der-podcast/id404201576?i =88951302For reference, you feed is at http://kontaktvoll.de/tinc?key=r5FOIixD
This is not a valid podcast feed for iTunes. It's missing the 'itunes declaration' in the second line. The top two lines of your feed should read as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
Without that, iTunes cannot read the 'itunes' tags which are necessary to carry some of the information, and which in any case are missing from your feed. The author name is carried in the 'itunes:author' tag and the image in the 'itunes:image' tag.
This page contains a basic sample feed so you can see what it should look like and how these tags are formed:
http://www.wilmut.org.uk/pc
If you are hand-writing this feed it's a good idea to put returns in after each closing tag, as in the sample. At the moment most of your feed is on one line and this makes it very difficult to read when looking for problems, particularly as you add more episodes. -
Itunes Store does not show lastest podcast but it downloaded
So i am pretty much and stuck on this issue. I have seen a couple of other post but no answers. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
The issue is the Itunes store does not show the last episode by it can still be downloaded and played.
The latest episode the Itunes store shows is 10/17/10 however it has been updated weekly.
Link to Itunes:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/langhorne-terrace-ministries/id258350667
Link to xml:
http://www.ltbc.org/podcasts/podcast.xml
I have used a couple of feed validaters and nothing seems wrong to me. Can anyone find an issue i have not looked at? Should i just try to contact Apple Support?
Thanks,
BobThe iTunes Store caches the feed and checks periodically to see if it's been updated, so there is a delay before new episodes appear: however it's usually around 2 days, not almost a month. When subscribing the iTunes application reads the feed directly, so there is no delay.
Something is preventing the Store from updating the feed. This can happen if there is some oddity in the feed which throws the Store but not the application - usually a strange character of some sort. I looked for something like that in the first episode not to appear in the Store, but there is nothing odd there: you've used dots in the filename of your mp3 file and this isn't a good idea, but in fact doesn't seem to be causing a problem since some earlier episodes do the same thing. Ideally you shouldn't use dots in a URL.
The filename for the episode of 28 November includes the code %3A - this is the code for a colon - you definitely shouldn't have a colon in a filename. However since this episode comes later than several others which haven't appeared it may not be fatal - but it's not a good idea.
The other oddity is that you have two 'title' tags in the top section of your feed, both empty. You did have a title once, as it shows in the Store, but you've removed it at some point so that the feed is not titled. I don't know whether this is sufficient to prevent the Store from updating, but you should definitely replace the title - I see you are using Podcast Maker, so you need to enter the title there and republish - and see whether that helps. -
ITunes Store does not fully appear on screen
The iTunes store does not fully "load" on screen. It takes 2-3 minutes for just a few images to appear and then it stops. Everything else about iTunes is functioning completley well as are all of my other internet connections/processes. This problem has existed for around one month and we have upgraded to iTunes 9. Please help !
