ITunes Store Downloads

Hi! I have a problem. I have some TV shows downloaded already, and everytime I sync my iPod, I am prompted to enter my Apple ID info to check for downloads. My problem is that I already have downloaded what iTunes is trying to download. Does anyone know how to DELETE!! iTunes downloads for good?
(iTunes asks to check for downloads when I purchase something from the iTunes store.)

The only way I know is to go here and fill out the form: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/
Ask them to delete your download queue.

  • ITune Store download stopped (err=8003, -3259, etc.)

Since upgrading to vers. 7 I have troubles downloading TV Shows (f.e. Prison Break Season1) for which I payed for.
The downloads are starting but stopped suddenly with above mentioned error messages. Very annoying also as some of the downloads pursue to about 95%, stop and are restarting from 0% again!
Are there any known problems with the server or can someone please explain possible troubleshooting?
    Thanks, Axel
PS: I might add that the Software Upgrade from QuickTime Pro 7.0.2 to 7.1.3 - for which I bought the upgrade - is also not working (although I doubt that has anything to do with the iTune Store Server)

On 25th I got the following mail from iTMS:
    1) Before proceeding, make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded free of charge: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
Note: Installing the latest version of iTunes will not affect your Library or any items in your account that you haven't downloaded.
    2) Open iTunes.
    3) From the Store menu, choose "Advanced" and then "Deauthorize Audible Account" and then re-authorize it from the same drop-down menu.
    4) Enter your account name and password and click OK.
To start downloading your recent purchases, please follow these steps these steps:
Enter your account name and password when prompted, then click the Check button. Your purchase should begin downloading.
This article provides more information about resuming interrupted downloads:
    http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93015
Once your purchases have downloaded, they will appear in your Purchased playlist as well as your iTunes library. However, you will need to authorize your computer again (1) to play your purchases. To authorize your computer, choose "Authorize Computer..." from the Store menu
    - I do not have an account with Audible
    - This did not solve the error messages and download problems I have.
    - (1) Why would one have to authorize the computer again as it has not been deauthorized?
Does anyone at ITMS knows what is going wrong?
PS: email "support" at http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/download/ did not...

  • Sound quality from iTunes Store downloads

    Hi Mac Mavens,
I'm a pretty discerning listener and I'm wondering about the quality of the sound from iTunes Store downloads vis-a-vis a CD. If you play them side by side through a very good sound system would you be able to hear the difference? Any audiophiles out there who have made the comparison? What's your verdict?
    Thanks one and all,
    CZ1957

I, for one, can hear the difference between 256 Kbit AAC and uncompressed AIFF over my Imac's tiny speakers. Over a good sound system, the difference is not subtle.
Compressed audio is inferior to the original, and there's very little argument about that. It's my understanding that most people can hear the difference between lossy compression and uncompressed audio.
Upon hearing it, however, some people can live with the difference, while others can't.
There are two very good reasons why you might wish obtain your audio on physical CD's: 1) if you care about the artistic intent of the musician and you want to hear everything they created, that's only available on CD, and 2) you might not wish to be overcharged for an inferior product. The "iTunes Plus" compression throws away about 80% of the information in the original audio, yet the cost is about the same as a physical CD. Why anyone pays $10 for one fifth of the data on a CD, when all the data is available for about the same price, is beyond me.

Please help me to clear my iTunes Store download queue.

    Finally, I got it.
After spending most of Friday night on the issue, I found the following at ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3297
Obviously, some srewed up downloads have been sitting in the download folder and causing a) crashes at start-up (since itunes will try immediately to continue the download after start up) and b) avoiding anything else to be downloaded (seems to be a kind of "first come- first to be downloaded"-arrangement).
I found several "downloads"-folders using Spotlight. Most likely, because I moved the iTunes library to access it from my account as well as from the account of my wife (at the same computer). I deleted all those downloads-folders and ... voila .. suddenly the downloads continued. Funny, that there have been more conflicts in the queue of app 20 files to be downloaded. Means, I could download 5 and the problem came back. I repeated the procedure and could continue with the remaining 15 files.
After all, iTunes' download behaviour is back to normal. Songs, movies, apps, podcasts can be downloaded without any issue.

  • Purchased videos from itunes store download/upload issues

I purchased movie from itunes store downloaded it onto my itouch works plays is fine --but when I tried to sync or drag the movie onto my windows computer into itunes or sync it with itunes cannot get the + sign only no go.  Getting frustrated--I bought this movie actually for my wife and then cannot get it onto her itouch since it will not transfer into itunes for me to get it moved/transferred onto her itouch.  Both itouch's are authorized on this computer.  I am confused--why buy the video if you cannot work with it on your devices?  Please help!

Did you check your trash can? Did you make a backup copy of your videos that you purchased? That is something that is always reminded to users that purchase from the itunes store...to make a backup copy to their purchased music. The idea is once you buy the music and you lose it well then its gone forever. I highly doubt you can get what you purchased from the itunes music store back again without purchasing them again. But that is weird that you had the videos and and their gone now. Have you tried searching for them on your computer harddrive? Did you do a recent hard reset to your ipod? Are you manually updating your ipod and deciding what to sync and not?

  • How do I delete Movies and TV Shows in my iTunes Store download Queue?

    Please help...
I have Apple TV and I purchase TV shows and Movies via iTunes Store. These programs and movies have successfully downloaded to my Apple TV and I have watched them and deleted them off the Apple TV Hard Drive.
    My problem:
I do not have much free Hard Drive space on the older laptop that I currently have iTunes running on. Everytime I open iTunes on my laptop it starts downloading the very large movie and TV show files and I do not have enough hard drive space for them and I do not want them now that I have alredy watched them.
    My questions:
    1. Can you delete everything that is currently in my iTunes Store downlonad queue so these programs and movies will not try and download? If so, how?...
    2. Is there a way I can prevent this from happening in the future?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

iTunes will not show me where the files reside (by right-clicking and selecting "show file" because the option doesn't exist for TV shows.
I don't understand, it does exist for tv shows.
Also, using the "delete" commend does nothing!
How are you using the delete command if you can't locate the file.
I have several shows taking up several gigabytes of disk space, and I can't locate them on my hard drive, or remove them from within iTunes!
    Have you tried spotlight.

  • HT1657 I rented a movie from the iTunes Store, downloading to my iPhone 5, but after it downloaded, it's completely disappeared from my iPhone.  I've been charged for the rental and when I go to rent it again, it says that I've already rented it

Hi - I rented a movie from iTunes and was charged for the rental.  It downloaded to my iPhone 5 over wi-fi as usual, but on completion of the download, it then didn't appear in my movies app on the iphone.  I can't find it either on iTunes in my account on my computer.  But iTunes seems to think that I've already downloaded it, but I can't find it anywhere or watch it.  Help!  I've downloaded and watch plenty of movies before - this is a first.  I've tried re-renting it, but it tells me that I've already rented it and if I download it again, I'll be charged a second time.
Help - anyone out there had the same problem or better still, have a solution????

I had the same issue with my apple tv 3rd generation. I rented Sinister and selected the "rent and watch now" option. Half way through the movie I accidentally pressed the menu button. When I looked for the rented movie on my apple tv I could not find it. Not even above the movie pannel where "purchased" and "top movies" comes up on the main menu. the apple tv suggests to go to settings>downloads but I don't have that option. I did go to settings> itunes store> check rentals but that didnt work either. It took too long to even check. Thank you because this SOLUTION worked great.
SOLUTION: How to reset apple tv 3 3rd generation to view rented movies:on the apple tv remote: press and hold "menu" to go to the main menu. Select SETTINGS> GENERAL >RESET >RESET ALL SETTINGS. After the apple tv resets, input all your information again and your rented movies should be visible when you cruise above the "movies" section. THANK YOU!!
Apple needs to solve this issue because honestly it took me 3 hours and a half to watch a movie that only lasted 2 BECAUSE I wast trying to solve the issue, reseting and all. blahh.

  • ITunes store download fail

I recently bought a few albums from the iTunes store but randomly 3 of the songs did not properly download and they can't be put onto my iPod as it says they cannot be converted.  Playing them on the laptop, they stop halfway through.  I don't know how to report this and get a solution or a refund, can anyone help?

This turned out to be an issue with Cablevision, my ISP.

  • Stopping and restarting an iTunes store download

While on a business trip, my very expensive Garmin GPS bricked on me.  So, I'll have to send it back, and in the meantime, I thought it was a perfect time to get the Navigon app for my iPhone 4.  Of course, it's a 1.5GB download, and I'm doing this in a hotel room with a moderate speed of around 1.5Mbps, which a few years ago would have been fast, but today is slow.  Well, the download was going to take a few hours (8 to be precise).  Halfway through the download, I had to close up my MBP and go to a meeting.  Also the office probably had faster speeds, so I thought I could finish it there.  Of course, no, you have to start the download from the beginning.  Am I doing something wrong, or is this just one of the odd quirks for iTunes store that you have to tolerate?
The end of the story was I sat in my hotel room all day and let it run all night, and got it downloaded.  Of course, a week later Navigon pushes out a new update (grrrrrrr) while I was still on the road.  By that time I was in a hotel with a much better speed (though not fast), and got it done overnight.
The good news is that I don't need my Garmin any more.  My iPhone does it better.  Sold the Garmin.

I have this same problem. It all started over 4 months ago when I downloaded "Starship Troopers- Marauders" as part of a purchase of several items. All other items in that purchase (music and movies) downloaded fine. But I got error 8008 for Marauders. I went back and forth with iTunes for the next few months. They never figured out what the problem was or explained what caused it. It was resolved by a refund of the purchase. I recently tried again and got the same result. But now I have been getting more errors and have 3 more items which failed to download with error 100000. What is going on with iTunes??? All of my software is up to date and I have business class cable internet. I have a top line MacBook Pro with Leopard. I have been through the full progression of flowchart solutions from Apple Support. How can I fix or prevent this problem and what is causing it?

  • Redundant iTunes Store downloads

Purchased TV episodes are being downloaded over and over again whenever I launch iTunes, preventing me from listening to music or watching videos, not to mention filling up my hard drive.
I recently purchased Stargate SG-1 Season 1 and not only did the all 20 episodes download initially but download begins again whenever I launch iTunes 7.5 on my Mac PowerBook G4/1.67 running Mac OS X 10.4.11. I have previously purchased and downloaded other TV show episodes without such behavior.
I have run Mac OS X 10.4 maintenance procedures and reset iTunes preference files without resolution.
Is it possible that somehow the iTunes store has not recorded that these purchased episodes have been downloaded and thus every time iTunes is launched it appears that purchased episodes still need to be downloaded?

That's the first URL somebody gave me for this. I deleted the "/browser/" part while trying to make it work.
You have to fill out a form before you can proceed past that page. There's a demand to "select a category and subcategory", but the columns for those items are blank. Where the text field is supposed to be, there are instructions to "verify your account information", but I wasn't given any category or subcategory to select.
I assume you've been there recently, and you didn't have this problem?
The only thing I can think of is maybe my "iTunes account name" is not the same thing as the "Apple ID" (my email address) that iTunes displays in the purchase dialog? I'm quite certain I filled in all the other fields correctly.
Can you tell me how I could find out exactly what they mean by my "iTunes account name"?

  • ITunes Store download problems

Hi, for the last few months if I purchase something on the iTunes store (Apps, Music, TV Shows, Movies) regardless of what it is the purchase is made and it downloads fine. However, if I close iTunes before the download is completed, whatever was in the download queue disappears. If I click on "Store" in the menu bar and select "Check for Available Downloads" I see the "Checking For Downloads message, followed by a pop-up the reads "Unable to check for available downloads, The iTunes Store in temporarily unavailable, Please try again later". When I select the "Downloads" section in the Sidebar, it tells me (at the bottom middle of the screen) that i have "388 iTunes Downloads Available", but when I click on the download button I get the same message about the iTunes Store being unavailable. When I go to the actual Store and select "Account" from the Quicklinks menu on the right it shows that I have 400 Downloads Available, however when I click on the "Download Now" button I see the Checking for Downloads message at the top of the screen and then nothing happens, I don't even get a pop-up saying that iTunes is unavailable.
Is there a way i can fix this? or should I contact Apple...
I've read a few similar posts about this and tried a few suggestions but nothing seems to help.
This is getting incredibly annoying now as I've spent well over $200 over the last 6 months, I even receive E-mails for my Season Passes letting me know a new episode is available for download, but guess what....I can't download them!  (sorta rubbing salt in the wound hey?)
I have a HP Laptop running Win7 64-bit, on this I've updated iTunes and am running 10.5.0.90
I've run the Diagnostics test and passed with no errors. I have my firewall turned off, I am using SSL 3.0  and TLS 1.0, and have also disabled "Check for server Certificate revocation"
I also own a 20-inch iMac Alum (Mid-2007) running OS X Lion 10.7.1 and iTunes 10.5b112 (112) 64-bit and am having the exact problems on my mac as well. Although iTunes on my mac will download Apps I've purchased on my iPhone 4 Automatically, where-as this doesn't happen on my PC.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

c'mon guys! someones gotta have something to say?

  • Cannot Connect to iTunes Store - Download music from iCloud to iphone 4s

    Hi,
    Desperate for help.
I have the iTunes match service on my iPhone 4s. All of the songs in the cloud are showing as available to use but when I tap a song to play the song appears on the screen but not play. I have tried using my 3g and internet connection but to no available. When I try to download an individual song by tapping the iCloud logo button I get the message “Cannot Connect to iTunes”.
I am definitely signed in to iTunes on the phone. iTunes match is definitely switched on.
I have tried switching the phone off and on using regular and hard reset method. Every other aspect of the phone is working fine. I have even download a new song on iTunes successfully.
    Regards,
    Shaun

I am able to log into iTunes from my iPhone (i checked my account info)
But, I am unable to update any Apps through the App Store.  Everytime I try, it comes up with the error "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"
    And that's where I'm stuck.

  • ITunes store download

I have always been able to download individual songs from the iTunes store and now have been trying to download an album of songs and this is the message I get, "You don't have write access for your iTunes Media folder or a folder within it. Change permissions (in the Finder) and then choose Store>Check for Available Downloads" Can anyone explain this?
    Thanks!

Tracy, glad you were able to get your iTunes going again. Your welcome for any help I have provided although this came from Apple tech help somewhere up their support ladder.
If this file is hidden, it is very hard to find it as it is not in the usual hidden file place nor does it have a . before it.
I have done some looking on Google. The SC stands Super Collider which is a program/unix system enhancer for handling audio and video. It has been around a long time and has been used by iTunes for at least 5 years to manage authorizations.
What this means and I should have remembered is that you might use up one of your 5 iTunes authorizations if you delete the file SC Info. I really can't remember if this happened to me.
So other readers be ware if your authorizations are close to the alloted 5. And others should post if they needed to reauthorize after deleting this file because of the bug that buggers it. This usually manifests itself as SC Info showing up in the Shared folder.

  • ITunes store - downloading purchased songs kicks back to "more" menu

I am on iOS 8. Using iPhone and in the iTunes Store > More > Purchased > Music. When I click on iCloud icon next to a track to download, it begins the download, but kicks me back to the "More" menu and I have to navigate back to download additional songs. Before I could download as many tracks as I wanted before manually exiting the screen. Anyone else seeing this?

I'm having the same issue... But it even happens on some artist with a lot of music listed. It just stays stuck on the loading screen on my iPhone 5. I would like to download my music please!

  • What bitrate are the itunes store downloads?

Sorry for the newb question, but I have never used the Itunes Store before and could use some help.
All my searches turn up old links indicating 128k AAC w/drm has been replaced by 256k AAC/ wo DRM, but they were from a year ago and point to Itunes Plus. The Itunes Plus faq in Support was no help since I see no + signs for any selections when searching music from the Itunes Store. So my guess is Plus is either embedded or I have a problem.
Also, if I my ask, are the bitrates the same when downloading direct from my Iphone?
    Using Itunes 9.2.0.61 , Iphone 3GS 32gb w/ ios4

Approximately a year ago (mid-2009) is when the iTunes Store started selling music only as iTunes Plus, which as Niel notes, is at 256 kb/s.
