ITunes Store fee?

I checked my purchases and found I was charged 1'98 euros for a several free applications which when I installed them on my ipod Touch were free Apps. Is there any fee related to open an account in iTunes store? Is there any fee by using a credit card?
Regards from Spain.

Hello,
Yes, it was an iTunes brand new account and the charges were sent by iTunes-Europe, this is what the statement says.
I just find out in the FAQ what you tell me about the 1$ fee (1'98euros) to verify a card, so knowing this, I'll wait to te see if the amount charged is reversed. Let´s see.
Many thanks for your help.

  • I am using Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit on a brand new PC, and cannot connect to the iTunes store using iTunes version 10.  HELP!!

Ok, so after purchasing a new computer, with windows 7 pro, 64 bit, I tried downloading the newest iTunes, which at the time was 10.2.1 (i believe).  After installation, everything seemed to work, except that iTunes was unable to securely connect to the internet, use home sharing, or validate my computer.
As troubleshooting, I first ran msconfig, and then turned OFF all programs that boot at start up EXCEPT itunes and quicktime.  After a restart, i opened itunes again, and got the same result.  That led me to believe that iTunes was NOT being blocked by another program on my machine.  I am currently running itunes 10.7 successfully on a Windows 7 32 machine at work.  Anyhow, for grins, I tried to install version 9 on the new computer, and it installed perfectly, and immediately connected to the itunes store, leading me to believe that there is nothing wrong with my software configuration (not sure if this is a safe assumption or not).  I then tried to let iTunes update itself using the automated update function.  It tried to update itself to the most current version, then 10.6.  Again, iTunes was unable to connect to the iTunes store.  I HAVE tried disabling the anti-virus software (AVG), but that made no difference.
I have since gone back and reinstalled iTunes 9.  Here's the catch though.  When I reinstalled using version 9, I had to redo all my library files.  I'm about 1/2 way through my CD's, and now have a substantial library file going.  The last time I let iTunes update itself to 10.6, once I realized that it was not going to connect to the store, I uninstalled iTunes, and reinstalled ver. 9.  However, when I did this, it told me it could no longer open the library file, because it was a newer .itl or .xml (i believe it was one of those two extensions) library file.  At that point, I basically started everything over again, using version 9, and have been importing CD's like a madman at night.
    Here are my questions:
    1) Is there a way to make a copy of the files that store my library info, so that if my upgrade to ver 10 IS NOT SUCCESSFUL, I can restore ver 9, but still have all of the album art work, playlists (when I import music, I create a playlist with the artists' name, and store things that way), etc. in tact?
    2) What else can I try (firewall settings, internet options, etc.) to try and get version to to successfully install?  I would really like to get all the benfits of the newer versions.
    3) When I tried to get apple tech support before, they wanted me to pay a ridiculous 69$ fee for phone support.  I just bought an iphone 5....this should entitle me to a fresh 90 days of phone support, right?  The reason I ask here is that I could hardly understand the "tech" that answered the phone when I called for tech support last time, and to be honest, it really ****** me off that they wanted to try and milk me for another 69 bucks....I've purchased every iPhone since the 3Gs came out (pre-ordered at that), and have nearly gone broke purchasing music from their iTunes store....heck, maybe they're doing me me a favor not letting me into the store, huh?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated,
    -Brian

    Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • How do you cancel an itunes store account?

I need some help here. Im trying to cancel my itunes store account as I don't use it anymore but keep getting charged a $1 weekly fee. I know its only $1 a week, but it's still a waste. I cant find a link anywhere to cancel the account so any help would be great.
    cheers

You do not get charged anything unless you make a purchase in the iTunes store.
When you first create your account, there is a $1 hold (not a charge) placed on the account, which is used to simply verify the credit card account. This is released, usually within 24 hrs.

  • Is there a way to view a Genre Column in the iTunes Store?

I have some file (That I did not download from iTunes). And their names were all messed up. But I was able to fix them by using the iTunes store and finding names, artist's, and etc. But when it came to Genres I could not find the Genre Column in the iTunes STORE. If you know a way to add a genre column in the iTunes store please tell me! Thank you!

Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • ITunes store won't load. The progress bar freezes at about 50% and I get nothing but a white screen.

I'm running iTunes 10.5 beta 7 but this issue has been happening since I was running 9.  One day I clicked on a link for an app I saw on techcrunch and it pulled up in iTunes as being in the UK store.  I clicked ok and my iTunes hasn't worked since.  I can log into my account but can't access anything in the store or Ping.  I've googled this issue and found some similar sounding stories but none of the solutions have worked.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled, turned of the itunes store in parental settings and checked "except for iTunes U", I've uninstalled apple aplication suport and installed safari and every other option I have found and nothing has worked.
Sometimes if I let it sit long enough what looks like an unstyled version of the store comes up but is completely unusable.
Just to be clear, this has been happening since before I was running any beta software or OS.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you gchin.
I emailed apple support and they got back to me, I did what he said and it's fixed! SOLUTION found- see below.
    I said:
"I can't access the iTunes Store. When I click on it the progress bar stops at 50% and I'm left with a blank white screen (no error msg). I have uninstalled and reinstalled, run the iTunes diagnostics (it said all was ok), gone through all of the online help material and I've tried turning off my firewall. Nothing works. I can't sync my iphone either (stops on verifying iPhone so I think it's getting stuck on trying to contact the store). Plzz help."
    They replied:
"Greetings from Apple iTunes Store Customer Support! I am ########.

  • Cannot Connect to the iTunes Store (UPDATED)

I know there are many threads on this forum about the topic of not being able to connect to the iTunes store, so I'm sorry for posting another one. I've read many of the threads, but I'm either very confused by them, the circumstances are different than mine, or I've already tried the solutions offered (and they failed). Here is my situation:
About 4 days ago, my Internet connection went down. I figured this out when I couldn't connect to the iTunes store. I quickly fixed my Internet problem. One of the cords in the monitor or external power outlet (I don't remember) had to be plugged into the router. I did so and my Internet connection worked. However, iTunes didn't work. I still couldn't connect to the iTunes store. It said "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. Your network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."
I have restarted and reopened iTunes. I have also used the support tips at this website: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368. I have turned off/configured my Windows Firewall. I have turned off my pop-up blocker. I have flushed my DNS settings. My Internet works. The checkboxes for Use SSL 3.0 and Use TLS 1.0 are checked.
I believe I have iTunes 7. Help is greatly appreciated. Also- I am not super tech-savvy so simple instructions would be great. Thanks!

I had a similar problem, but this email from Apple helped to solve it.
    Good luck!!
    Dear Michael,
Thank you for the information you've included. I have information for your
system that should have you connected, and able to retain a stable connection
    for downloading.
There are two web domains and two executable applications the iTunes Store uses.
If blocked or in conflict with other software, this causes information traveling
between the iTunes application on your system to lose communication with the
iTunes Store on the Internet. Here are a few examples of software that can cause
    this:
    * Virus Scanners
    * Web accelerators
    * Ad filters or pop-up blockers
    * Firewalls
If you have installed any of this software, then you can consult the Help or
documentation for this software. It is more likely, however, that you will need
to contact your Internet Service Provider and/or computer manufacturer for
information on what software they have installed. They can tell you whether or
not they pre-install any of this software, and should be able to assist you in
configuration. When you're ready to configure, be sure to close both iTunes and
    QuickTime.
Pop-up blockers, ad filters and privacy services oftentimes block the two web
domains used by the iTunes Store. These two domains will need to be configured
as "Trusted Domains" or as "Allowed Cookies:"
    phobos.apple.com
    phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net
Virus Scanners and Firewalls will often allow the main iTunes.exe application
access to the Internet, but often block the iTunesHelper.exe application used by
the iTunes Store. You will want to allow these two program full access to the
    Internet:
    iTunes.exe
    iTunesHelper.exe
NOTE: Your Windows Firewall is currently set to "Off." When your system’s
default firewall has been disabled, it has most likely been disabled by
third-part security software that replaces this firewall with its own version.
Be sure to focus on configuring the third-party firewall for both applications.
If you find that your firewall can block or allow your network's connection
ports directly, then be sure to allow all three of these TCP ports used by the
    iTunes Store:
    Name: Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
    Port Number: 80
Name: Secure Sockets Layer (SSL, or "HTTPS")
    Port Number: 443
Name: Digital Audio Access Protocol (DAAP)
    Port Number: 3689
You should be able to create and maintain a connection to the iTunes Store at
this point. Simply restart your system and, once it has started up, open iTunes
and test various actions on the iTunes Store. You should be able to sign in and
    download purchases without error.
If, after troubleshooting, you still cannot connect and maintain a connection to
the iTunes Store, then you will need to call our AppleCare technical support
team. A representative will be able to tell you about Apple's complimentary and
fee-based support options and can help you determine which option might be most
helpful in this case. To find the appropriate phone number, please visit:
    http://www.apple.com/support/contact/phone_contacts.html
I hope this information is helpful in getting you to gain access to the iTunes
    Store.

Thank you. DanDiMan007

Thank You Eric, I contacted Cisco, they have nothing for Maverick OS.. too new for them.. It still works fine but I can't access my router settings If needed if I needed to view my settings,  to change a password or add more guest access. Right now if I had to do something, They said they would have to make the changes locally through their website and there would be a fee because I'm out of warranty..  Since I'm able to still connect since upgrading to Maverick, I assumed Apple included a patch or something in the Maverick upgrade..

  • I cannot connect to itunes store

I have Win7, cannot connect to iTunes store.  I open iTunes and store does not load, and no error message shows.

    3. Uninstall QuickTime
    4. Uninstall Apple Software Update
    5. Uninstall Apple mobile device support
    6. Uninstall Bonjour
    7. Uninstall Apple application support

  • Cost for adding material to iTunes store and podcasting

Does anyone know how much it cost to podcast or to sell your own your own material in the iTunes Store. For example, does iTunes receive a certain amount of commision from each sell that you make.

The iTunes Store receives a percentage of all sales of music. Contact Apple via their web page for iTunes Marketing.
They’ve reportedly been swamped with requests, so don’t be surprised if you don’t hear back from them soon or indeed ever. If you don't hear from them, you might want to consider signing up with an indie label or marketing service that already has a relationship. In another post, an Apple employee said that there are 600 already, including CD Baby and IODA. A new service that seems promising if true is TuneCore.
There is no fee for Apple listing your podcasts. For information, see this web page.

  • Is there a way to convert own cps via iTunes store

    Hi
I read somewhere there was a plan to enable you to upload or convert your own cds and shop purchased music, mp3s etc into itunes for a set fee.
Has this been put into action yet?
    cheers

You can use iTunes to rip your own CDs at no charge.
You can purchase songs from any online music download retailer and add them to your iTunes library, but most stores (including the iTunes Store and Amazon MP3) charge per song, not a fixed monthly fee.
If you'd prefer to stream unlimited music for fixed monthly fee, check out Rhapsody or Spotify.

  • We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Please can someone help. I keep on getting this when I try and buy a song or upgrade my iPhone aps. I have got the latest iTunes on my 15" MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.5 (12F37). Last week I changed my password on //appleid.apple.com I could the access my account in iTunes. I have tried to log on to my account / view my account in itunes / buy a song and tried upgrading my apps, but I can't do anything now. it is frustrating. Please, please, please can someone help. :-)

Unsure if this will help anyone but I had the same problem with the message always coming up when I tried to login: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
What I couldn't understand was that I could log into iTunes online, but not through the iTunes app, becoming very frustrated I went to drastic measures to get everything working again - although I found this post after I had success.
To add to the issue, my iPhone (4S - iOS7) was visible on iTunes (latest version), but some of my apps had failed to sync (showing grey on my iPhone and being unable to delete them), causing further issues and adding to my frustrations....which attributed to the drastic measures posted below.
(You may want to try following the above posts before following my method)
**** Apple support provided me with an email containing many links, all of which didn't really help me, but I'll post anyway, just incase they assist someone else:
    "Dear Luke,
Thank you for writing to iTunes Store Customer Support, my name is Indra and I'll be assisting to you with your concern.
I understand that you are unable to login to your iTunes store account and getting message that the iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. I can imagine you must be eager to access your account and I will do my best to resolve this issue.
Luke, as an advisor for the iTunes Store, I handle issues related to billing, downloading, customer accounts, and the items available on the iTunes Store. Although your question falls outside of my area of specialty, I will be happy to assist you with resolving your issue.
I have verified that the iTunes Store is functioning and accepting connections. The issue could have been temporary, related to your internet connection, your local network, or your computer itself. If you’re still unable to connect, this article outlines some potential solutions:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
These articles have helped other Windows users resolve connection issues:

Firewall, virus-protection, and web-acceleration software can prevent you from connecting to the iTunes Store. You might not be able to connect even if the software appears to be configured to allow full access to the iTunes Store. You can use the MSCONFIG utility to determine if software on your computer is preventing access to the iTunes Store. For detailed instructions, please refer to the following article:
Using Msconfig to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows Vista and Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2292
If the articles above don't help you connect to the iTunes Store, I suggest testing to see if this issue occurs while you are signed in to a new user account on your computer. To learn how to create a new user account in your version of Windows, please read the article below for your operating system:
How to create and configure user accounts in Windows XP
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279783
Windows Vista: Create a user account
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account
Windows 7: Create a user account

Windows 8: Create a user account
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-user-account
Once you are signed in to this new user account, open iTunes and try to connect to the iTunes Store. If you can connect without error, then you’ve identified that the issue is with the previous user account that you were using. You may want to consider adopting this new account as your user account and transferring your files from the old account to your new one.

But if the above doesn't work for you then you can follow my method...in the end, I perfomed the following actions which did work:
1).  Uninstalled iTunes from my computer (via Control Panel > Programs & Features)
2).  Located the iTunes folder containing media, Previous Libraries etc (normally located under your Music folder) and simply moved it to my desktop. (can't afford to delete)
    3). Downloaded iTunes.
4). Plugged my iPhone into my laptop and moved all contents across to my desktop (photo's).
5). Restored my iPhone erasing ALL data (extreme but desperate measures were required) - you may want to back it up, but I personally didn't have anything that I couldn't afford to loose on it.
6). Set-up my iPhone (set language etc...) including iCloud, but did not plug it into my laptop.
7). Chose the following iPhone settings>
              > iCloud - Contacts turned off
              > Mail, Contacts, Calendars - iCloud Contacts turned off (same end result)
              > iTunes & App Store - made sure I was logged in via Apple ID.
    7). Closed Outlook.
8). Re-installed iTunes, saving it on the C:> default location.
9). Followed the normal iTunes install prompts, setting it up as new. (making sure I had NO apps or music - clean slate)
10). Plugged my iPhone into my laptop, waiting for it to appear as it normally does.
11). Checked for iOS updates and iTunes updates (all good)
12). Checked Sync Contacts with Outlook (opening Outlook at the same time) - Calendars I left to the iCloud
13). APPLY....once sync finally completed (this time SUCCESSFUL) I was able to click iTunes Store and LOG IN.....finally!
I probably didn't have to perform all 13 steps, but that's exactly what I did to get everything working again!
There is probably someone out there who will be able to explain why I couldn't login to iTunes, why many of my apps didn't load onto my iPhone correctly, why everything failed to sync and probably able to shorten the above 13 steps to a quick fix.... but for now, everything is finally working and my 48hrs of frustration has come to an stress free end!

  • No More iTunes Store?

I read an article on HipHopDX.com that Apple may be forced to give up a larger percentage of their iTunes Store sales to higher up music companies/corporations, which would force Apple to raise their current prices in order to still be a profitable company. Apple has threatened that they would shut down the iTunes Store before raising the prices for their customers. So this will be interesting to keep an eye on to see what happens. I hope the iTunes Store is not closed, and I know Apple doesn't want to close it either because I'm sure they make a lot of money from the store. If anyone hears or see's any updates on this, please reply with the information because I would like to know what's going on if I miss the news about it!

    Hey Phil,
Believe it or not, there was a resolution to this issue roughly 24 hours after this story was first mentioned by a good number of news outlets.  I'm still rather surprised though that the follow-up story wasn't given nearly as much attention as the initial "knee-jerk reaction" made by the press.
Based on information that I've found, it looks as though the federal Copyright Royalty Board froze the royalty fee due to songwriters at 9.1 cents per song for the next five years.  Neither party involved (Apple or the Recording Industry Association of America) appears to have been overly pleased with the decision, but spokespeople from both sides seem to have admitted that the ruling should prove to be beneficial.  A good compromise means that no one involved gets everything that they want, I guess.
If you'd like to read more on this story, you should be able to find the official Associated Press article by searching for "Copyright board leaves royalty rate unchanged."
    Hope this helps you out!

  • Can't download purchased album from Itunes Store is any one else having this problem?

Can't seem to download a purchased album from the itunes store is anyone else having the same problem? It has deductedt the amount from my account however!

I ordered mine the very same day the iPT was available in Sweden. As we are a non-iPhone country I looked with envy on my friend's jailbroken phones and especially the Mail and Calendar applications. The iPod was cool, but... - just anothr iPod with smaller memory than my old one.
After the release of the Jan software I felt ripped-off for a couple of minutes and then bought the upgrade. Since then I have been soooo happy. The software architecture in the iPT/iPhone that allows Apple to 1) add great apps later on and 2) generate a SDK for 3rd parties is amazing.
Comparison: my old Nokia N70 phone cost about $250 more than the iPT (not including the 12 month lock-up to the provider) and has so far been in for upgrades (at Nokia and later on downloads via Internet) five times. In no upgrade was any additional functionality added, just bugs corrected and bugs added.
However, the path Apple is taking on this is very narrow. If they are to charge $20 to get SDK functionality to the iPT I will probably eBay the iPT and go for a jailbroken iPhone. I accept the $20 on occasions - it should not be a subscription fee. The approach of distributing 1.1.3 without the apps is a stroke of genius IMHO, but please - don't push it too far...
    Best wishes,

  • Having Trouble Accessing iTunes Store...

I cannot access the iTunes store by any method in my wireless network or a hard line to the internet. I have every other feature on every other device in my home for online content, but I simply cannot get into the itunes store from my Apple TV, iPhone, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro...NOTHING!! It sporadically came back a few minutes ago on my ATV, then zap...Gone again...Still have online content...ATV connects to You Tube just fine...Just no iTunes store. Has this happened to anybody? Please help...

On all of my machines? not at all never have...not even on my iPhone.
I still to this day am not able to get anything on any device even by switching to another wireless network. I even moved my Mac Pro to another location with another isp and nothing.
y ATV Started working briefly and I rented some movies, they all had an error while downloading and it stopped working again...of course, I've been charged the rental fee. Let's see if I get them before the month is out.

  • Change language displayed in ITunes Store

    Hi,
this might be a stupid question but I didn't find any solution to it so far. We do live in Austria and according tho ITunes Policy we have to use the Austria ITunes Store: Okay got that one!
Also my entire Apple network operates on English only all contents on the Itunes Store are displayed in b**y German. Can I change the ITunes store display language? ITunes, as a program itself, is adjusted to English due to my general language preference.
    An ideas????
By the way I have the same story now on my IPhone. So I guess its an account issue?
    Thanks

    yep... same issue here.
I had a few emails back and forth with an iTunes Store support member. He proposed this:
    iTunes: Changing the display language
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2242
This didn't work for me though, after which I was told to call the (fee-based) austrian apple-care.
Anyway: Seems like they're having a major hick-up here. Hope Apple solves this soon!
