ITunes Store help - changing TV download type

I accidentally purchased a TV season in regular resolution but intended to get HD. I have not downloaded yet. Ideally I would like to cancel the purchase and purchase the HD version. If that is not possible I would like to get the HD version even if it means paying an outrageous price. But iTunes won't let me do that. It says I already have the season and cannot repurchase it, even though I specify HD. To make matter worse Apple support is impossible. I have been trying for hours to follow the "Contact Apple Support" chain at the appropriate place and all I get is the busy icon (in Windows). Getting anything out of the regular phone contact system, with no live person, is impossible for this kind of case. Very frustrating. This is one reason that I don't own a Mac. But I do like to use iTunes on my PC. Anyone have suggestions on how to contact Apple?

Do you have Shaw internet by chance? There were some issues a few months ago with this provider and iTunes. You may want to speak with them. Also make sure all your security software is up-to-date.

    You canot easily change your country settings.  The iTunes Store in a country is intended only for use by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store.  You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.
    E.g., "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations.     Check the BADI "TRIP_WEB_CHECK" method "USER_CHECK_GENERAL_DATA".
    Here based on the schema you can modify the "estimated cost" field.

    You need to go to Date & Time and change the date ahead more than a year. Then try and then you can change the date back.

    Go to the music store and scroll all the way to the bottom. There should be a drop down menu with a circle-shaped flag beside it. Click on it and make your best guess which one is Australia. I hope you understand this, because I wasn't quite sure how to word it.

    What country are you in ? Depending upon what country that you are in then you might be able to redownload them on your Mac's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the iTunes store homepage
    If you're not in a country where TV programmes can be redownloaded then connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and use the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over from your iPad

    Search for music and then buy it.
    If you already have music you want to import to the iPhone, connect it to your computer and open the iTunes application on the computer, and start a sync (in the lower right of the window).

    From your OLD computer...
    Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

    I use my Mac Mini at home as my media server/HTPC, and contains my iTunes library.  I want to copy all my music to my MacBook Air for work, as my internet at work is too slow for iTunes Match to work effectively.  Therefore, I was going to set Automatic Downloads for music on both Macs so that they would stay in sync.
    However, I have both an Australian iTunes store account and an old UK one, which I still use to download BBC TV programmes from.  According to the Apple KB though:
    "Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days."
    Does this mean that I can't change the store from AU to UK for 90 days?  Or is the Apple ID you use in the store different to the device's Apple ID?

    I'm having this problem too (except with from Japan to US)! Did you ever get a solution? I don' want to create a new account because I want to keep all of my purchases.

    Well folks I finally got my "can't connect to iTunes" issues fixed. Seems that there was an unauthorized change to my email address and account therefore not allowing mr to connect to iTunes.
    Here is how I got it fixed.
    1. Contacted iTunes store support
    2. Followed their instructions and replyed with the following info:
    An order number from one of my purchases
    Last 4 digits of the c.c. Used for the iTunes store acct
    Answer to one of my security questions
    And 2 items from this list.
    Birthdate
    Billing address for Acct
    Phone number on acct
    It was after all of this that they saw that someone had made an account modification back in February when the issue began. Seems they changed my email address just slightly and that is what kept me from being able to sign in and not a password issue. This was likely due to a phishing email that came out in conjunction with iCloud asking users to change their passwords to a more secure form by adding a capital and number.
    To get all of this cleared up it took about 4 days as we emailed back and forth. I also needed a seperate email address they could use to send me info. Once they determined the issues and went to get them fixed by changing the email address associated with the acct and I created a new password I was able to access iTunes with no issues and even my previously thought lost acct balance was there.
