there seems to be a problem with itunes store in china.. i cannot log onto itunes store in china... is there anyone with the same issue?
and when can we hope to get it working well again?

You cannot.
You cannot use another countrys itunes store.
You must be physically locates inside the borders of a country to use that countrys itunes store and a credit card issued in that country with a valid billing address in that country.
The owners of the distribution rights of movies/music/etc differ by country. These distributors decide who can sell their content in that country.
Buy from another source if your countrys itunes store does not carry somehting that you want.

What is "ITUNES STORE CHINA"?

Today I found my credit card bills containing transactions from a merchant called "ITUNES STORE CHINA" from "BEIJING CN" and charged me bills in RMB.
I am sure i never visit such store, especially i am in HK instead of mainland china and i regularly purchase from the HK Apple iTunes Store which charge in US$.
Do anyone know or seen such store before?

I just had the same thing happen, 3 separate charges totalling 128.00. When I talked with Apple Support I was told I had to go to itunes support and report the issue through email. They told me they couldn't do a refund but I was to contact my bank and they can do a charge back request. Right now the charges on my bank account are pending investigation. Oh, btw, they were from beijing China also. My itunes account is connected with another card, these charges were done through my bank card so it wasn't through my itunes account. Very strange that this must be a continuing problem with China.

I have still got the problem, I have tried every thing suggested, I think it has something to go with my apple sign in, when signing in & putting in password it just goes grey as though I haven't signed in no error???. My iTunes has been messed up since August 17th. I am getting the error message; "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was reset. I suspect a location-driven problem here. I live in SHanghai, China - as does the poster above! I have this problem on three different computers using three different ISPs.
Anybody got a suggestion? Tried firewalls, turning off virus production, reinstalling iTunes, putting phobos.apple.com and such in the permitted list, all sorts of stuff, to no avail. And Apple help support just bounces me around - I've interacted via email with three people, finally graduated to a real person, and they sent me back to email when the usual "reboot your machine and reinstall iTunes, then turn off virus protection" didn't work.

ITunes store won't redeem gift cards!

I start iTunes; go to iTunes store, click "Redeem", enter a gift card "Activation Code"; Immediately upon hitting Enter/Return I get an iTunes error screen reading "*Your session has timed out. Please start over.*" or some such message. At that point, I can't start over, iTunes is frozen up and I have to quit iTunes completely and restart it to try again. I try again, typing the code CAREFULLY, same thing happens. I quite iTunes, start over, and try a different gift card, same exact message. I'm running OX 10.4.11 with iTunes 8.0.2 on a Powerbook G4. I'm thinking iTunes 8 is not all that compatible with 10.4.11. Any thoughts? What do I do with $65 in gift cards?

This being a very old thread, you'll probably have better luck getting suggestions if you start a new topic with your issue.
Without any details as to where things are going wrong for you, it's difficult to offer much advice, but one thing to check is to make sure you're using the correct code. For most iTunes cards, the code is under the scratchoff area on the back of the card. For more information, see their web page If you can't get it to work after perusing that page, use the form at the bottom of the page to contact the iTunes Store customer service group and explain the problem to them.
This of course presumes you purchased valid iTunes cards from an authorized reseller. There are scams out of China selling counterfeit cards and gift certificates, so if you purchased your cards from a private individual or an unauthorized source such as eBay, you may have counterfeit cards for which you have no recourse.

i can not login into iTunes store, apple-id is from Holland. Since I bought my new ipad in China, I am unable to connect to the appstore.
I was able to update my old apps once, but after that I can not get into the app store anymore.
I am currently in China.

ITunes error -4 when trying to connect to itunes store

When the Itunes is trying to connect to the iTunes Store I am getting an error.
"Itunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (-4). Make sure your connection is active and try again."
My connection is active .... and of course it does work even if i restart my Mac.
A side effect is that when I am trying to buy some application at ApplStore (it allows me to browse) I get a message indicating that the username or email was changed!.
Via mobileme (on a mac / Safari) I can login...
Any help would be great.

I got through to the support number in China which actually was a Representative in India. He said to contact itunes store via email www.apple.com/support/itunes/store
Sent email so we will see what happens. I have spoken to three others here who cannot access the store. We live in different complexes so the internet is not the same provider( not the right word, but not sure if it is server?) Friend in the US has no problems.

Why doesn't show the itunes store page? any further blocks from chinese gov?

even if i am logged in and all the rest is sync, the page of the iTunes store remain white and do not show anything!!
or it is a question of internet blocks as i am living in china or is something else someone could help me with

If you're referring to the iTunes in the Cloud feature, music is only available via the feature in the US right now. So you cannot at this time re-download your music (due probably to licensing issues with the distributors in the various countries). You'll need to restore from your backups or from an iOS device if you have one that contains your music.

The living issue is complex in my case. Legally speaking, I have no personal residence globally. I just live wherever my father goes, which is everywhere. I'm an expat and it seems that these sites aren't really expat-friendly. They seem to be built for localization and assume everyone stays in the same place.
I don't know what I'd be considered. I'm a US passport holder and live in China, but I only speak some Chinese and I can't read it (it using non-latin characters is just too much for my mind's memory to handle). Besides that, I'm not interested in popular Chinese apps. They tend to just be annoying and kooky and generic and put together badly, often full adware and spyware (speaking for most Chinese software, in fact). In fact, a lot of apps I want are illegal in China (YouTube, Facebook, etc) and I use a VPN to use the services. I assume I wouldn't find these apps on the Chinese store. In fact, last I checked, there wasn't many English apps on the Chinese app store. This is probably due to their strict moderation or something.
I've been going to international schools since I got here and college would be in English too. I can speak some Chinese, but not read it.
Well, I guess the answer is that I can't use the App Store in English. So I guess I'll just sign out everything on my phone involving my Apple account and just start using third-party tools to do my business.

Only Apple Account Security could help at this point. You can try calling Apple Support in Canada - you'll have to find one of the several ways, such as Skype, to call an 800 number from outside of the relevant country - and ask for Account Security and see if they can help. Or you can find a friend who speaks Chinese and ask them to help you talk to Apple Support in China. There are really no other options that I know of.
Note, by the way, that these are user-to-user support forums. You aren't speaking with Apple when you post here.
