ITunes Store in iTunes 10.5.1 on Win 7 64-bit doesn't work.

If you click on category, movies, TV, podcasts etc. nothing comes up.  I've turned off anti-virus and blocking software nothing seems to work.

This has been going on for a lot of people for a long time. If you turn on the column browser, and then select specific categories, you get an old-fashion listing at the bottom- not easy to work with-- very unfriendly.

  • When installing itunes 10.5.1 for win 7 64 bit get message that installer is 32 bit.

Atempted to install itunes 10.5.1 for Win 7 64 bit. Receive dialog box that the installer is 32 bit. Points me to an address in Apple for Bonjour Print Services for Windows. After clickin on OK the install proceeds but Itunes will not start.
Itunes has also reformated the library so an older version of itunes can nolonger read the file.

I got the same message about the network resource that I can't access.  The only difference is that I couldn't install Itunes 10.3 because I can't remove the old version of Bonjour.  I couldn't get rid of anything in add/remove programs, but I went into my program folders and deleted everything that had to do with Itunes.  I also ran a Windows Cleanup Utiltiy.  Nothing will work.  I still can't remove Itunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, MobileMe Control Panel, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, or Apple Software Update in add/remove programs because they are on a network resource that I can't access even though I deleted them from the program folders.  This is very frustrating!

It will work with Windows 7 32 bit.  On a 64 bit you will have to install Windows XP Mode.  You can download it from the Microsoft Website.  The XP Mode will run Windows XP in 32 bit.  Microsoft has easy instructions on the download.  One download at a time.  Install the first download then the second download.  You will have to copy your icon from all program and paste to the desktop if you are going to use it often.

  • Itunes 10.6.3 for Win 7 64 bit

Downloaded itunes 10.6.3 for Windows 7 64-bit.  After (re)installing, I still can't open the itunes program.  I've tried uninstall/install 3 different times.  Same results.

Did all that and still nothing, I have:
I installed/uninstalled numerous times for itunes and quicktime.
    Deleted the SC files
Ran repair on both itunes and quicktime.
    Checked microsoft fixit.
Shut down or restarted multiple times throughout this process.
iTunes still appears to be running the 32bit version even though the installer is called the 64bit version. I only see the process for itunes when attempting to run in safe mode ctrl+shift and the message box pops up. There has only ever been one account on this computer but I make sure to show all processes when looking for itunes.

  • Same problem as some others, can't install iTunes 10.6.1 on WIN 7 64-bit !

After deleting all apple components from my system, the installer each time shows the error message, that it's not able to finish the installation cause a required program doesn't work correct. The installation on the same computer (Virtual PC WIN XP 32bit) was no problem. Pleas help, if possible

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

  • I get an error message when I start up itunes.  It says the registry settings for burning are missing and to reinstall itunes.  Well I have done that and it doesn't work! Help

When I run diagnostics I get error 43 telling me to repair install itunes and that doesn't work either.

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

I am trying to connect my new nano to my iTunes account. I keep getting msg "ipod detected but not identified properly. disconnect and reconnect. if problem persists uninstall/reinstall iTunes". I've uninstalled/ reinstalled iTunes 6 times but keep getting the same msg.
when installing iTunes I get a pop-up "iTunes helper error" check access. with options to abort, retry, ignore. retry doesn't work. ignore installs iTunes but it doesn't recognize my nano. abort shuts down the download.

    Hello, KenaiK9.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communites.
I see you are receiving an error and have processed some troubleshooting steps with the issue persisting.  There are just a couple more in the article below that covers this specific error.

  • Why does iTunes never wanna update in win 7 64 bit?

    Hi
Everytime I try to update iTunes since last 1½ year I allways end up having to uninstall everything from Apple - download pacakages from internet - reboot (often two-three times) and then reinstall the whole iTunes package once again. Everytime it takes hours and I am getting sick and tired of this. I really do not like iTunes after all - its not very userfriendly IMHO - anyway - I mainly use iTunes for my iPhone 4 so it´s so frustrating to have to go through this update nightmare every time there is an update (wich is quite often).
What is the problem? It tells me that the iPod service can not be installed or that there is an error installing the update - everytime new excuses for not updating the software. And I am geting used to just try once and then jump tpo the above described method.
Is there something wrong with the combination iTunes and Windows 7 - 64 bit? Or is it just me? I have had this issue on all my three PCs - all three runs Win 7 - 64 bit. ALl my PCs are updated with latest drivers. SPs etc.

    Quicktime does NOT start
    Many thanks.
In recent times, the error-message-free iTunes and QuickTime launch failures have been indicating that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
    Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
    Open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.)

  • ITunes 9 and Dolby 5.1 AC3 pass through doesn't work

I know that this is an old question. But for me, it still doesn't work. I can pass through Dolby Digital to my 5.1 Home Theater system in VLC Player or EyeTV without any problems. However, in iTunes it still doesn't work. When I select the surround audio track of movies purchased from iTunes, I get no audio at all or a completely silent Dolby 2.0 or 5.1 track. But I didn't manage to get real 5.1 sound. I tried to set the digital output to "Encoded Digital Audio" and selected 48 kHz which should match the right setting for movies. But it still doesn't work. What can I do? Thanks for your help!

    Re Checked it.
Only AAC stereo tracks on bought movies are 44,1 kHz.
    AC3 tracks are 48 kHz.

  • HT3702 I know I bought something on iTunes and I got charged but my credit cards doesn't work anymore. It won't let me update or download any apps. Could I just go buy a 20$ iTunes card and will it charge that for the past failed purchase? Help please

could I use a 20$ giftcards from iTunes for a failed purchase Instead of a new credit card? I'm not going to add a new credit card to my account. When I try to update or download a new app it tells me I have to update my billing. So I can't do anything about it because I don't have a new credit card and I will not be getting one. I just want to use a 20$ gift card so that past purchase could just take it off of my giftcards I will add. Will this work?

Select None for payment method >  iTunes Store: Changing account information
If None is not available > Why can’t I select None when I edit my payment information?
Yes, you can redeem an iTunes gift card for current purchases.

And you can check the balance of a redeemed card >  Account Home - Apple Store

  • ITunes and Windows 7 64 bit doesn't work together?

Running Windows 7 64 bit, iTunes is reporting it is latest and greatest, as is iPod touch. When I tried to move some songs I purchased today to my iPod via iTunes, my system crashed. Tried a few times and it kept crashing. It would transfer 1 maybe 2 songs then crash. I've not installed anything new, nor have I had this problem in the past and the crashes only occur when transferring music. Anyway, after the last crash I was checking my version on iPod touch and noticed it says I have only 2 gig left on space. Yet when I go to my Music I only have 3 songs. In addition, when I plug my ipod into my computer, iTunes sees all my old music from the iPod (listed under devices) AND it will play those songs. From my iPod those songs do not seem to exist but are still taking up space. I am in the process of restoring my iPod but I am curious if anybody has had the same issue, if so what was your resolution... as well as any suggestions. After restoring my iPod I had more issues. I installed iTunes to my XP machine, authorized it and hooked up my iPod and everything is syncing fine now. Seems to be just a problem with my Windows 7 machine. Any word as to when this is going to be fixed? My XP machine is not my preferred machine to keep my music on as it is my work PC.

I'm having a similar problem - my computer tells me that "one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it". I'm also using Windows 7 64bit.

  • ITunes 10.2.1.1, Win 7 (64 bit) Crash when switching Music Videos

This problem has been plaguing me on both my laptop and desktop machines since early iTunes 10 versions. Randomly iTunes will stop responding when it switches from one Music Video to another and can only be fixed by killing the process and restarting iTunes. Thats really inconvenient when I'm working with music in the background having to fix it every 5-7 minutes.
I highly doubt this is a driver issue, my Windows 7 installs are all up to date. I've reinstalled both machines trying to resolve the issue, I've rebuilt my iTunes libraries on the reinstalled machines. I've checked Quicktime versions and reinstalled them and it happens on different videos at different intervals.
    Any thoughts?

Unfortunately no. I dont have any IM client installed on my desktop. I do have a G35 keyboard though which allows you to see whats playing.

  • ITunes download using Firefox on Windows 7 64-bit does not work

I just got set up on a new Windows 7 machine (64-bit) at work.  I was trying to download the iTunes exe file to my machine and was initially using Firefox as my browser.  After multiple attempts to save the file were unsuccessful, I decided to try a different browser.
I popped over to Chrome and it downloaded with no problem.  I thought I would share in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

This has worked for some of us but not all. Go to control panel and uninstall itunes and icloud, restart pc, go to apple site and download itunes and icloud. Good luck.
