ITunes Store language affects LPs language?

Hi there,
I saw that other Europeans like me where surprised to see that our language preference in the iTunes store was overruled to local language. I live in Spain and I prefer to have everything in original version as long as I understand it. So, if iTunes is american I prefer to have everything in English and avoid translation errors. This was overruled and now I have to read everything in Spanish.
Now, what worries me is that the page of an LP album is also in Spanish ([link|http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=327628407 &s=143454]) like this case of the Doors album showed in the keynote. All the text and descriptions are in Spanish except the song and album names. There is no way that I know if the extra material of the LP album will come in spanish or in English. I'm not eager to spend 13eur in an album and end up with everything in a language I am not expecting.
Does anyone know how it ends up? LP albums come in original language despite the store's display language? Are we Europeans such freaks?
Cheers,
JP

There are no Helvetica fonts on my machine and the store comes with the squares as for Mr Sing in the second message of this thread: so removing the Helvetica fonts is no solution for me. If I install some Helvetica fonts from the web I get partly text instead of the squares, legible though not particularly good looking. Apparently the lines in the store replaced by the squares (or jibberish) are coded with the Helvetica fonts (which are not standard in Windows Vista) and the font replacement scheme of the web pages behind the store is not working reliably. This should be fixed by the store and not by the users...

  • I live in Australia. Why is the iTunes store in an Asian language?

I would like to browse the iTunes store, but it is in Chinese or Japanese and I only read English. I have tried going to the iTunes store via apple.com.au as well as by opening my copy of iTunes, but it is the same both ways.
I notice that iTunes works using time zones. Am I getting this Asian version because I live in Queensland, which does not have daylight saving time, whereas the southern states of Australia do?
Other than waiting until April when daylight saving finishes in the southern states, is there anything I can do?

I asked someone who can read some Japanese to look at this. Almost every word on the site is Japanese, except "Podcast" (click on that and the submenu is Japanese) "R&B" and some other thing I forget.
This person was able to identify the "change country" button, which was set at Japan (in Japanese). He showed me the USA choice (he couldn't identify the usual characters for Ausralia) and from the USA site I was able to then choose Australia. But without someone literate in Japanese I wouldn't have got anywhere.
I can't see any duplicate fonts. I have a big collection of fonts and look after them well.
I know Queensland is in the same time zone as Japan, and with daylight saving we are not in the same time zone as the Australian iTunes store. Elsewhere in this forum, I have seen people being advised to have their time zones set correctly if they are having problems accessing the iTunes store.
So while I have found an indirect way around this, maybe there is something for Apple to look at as other Queensland customers could be affected by the time zone difference (if that is what is doing it).

  • Very random, but why is the preview for Dreamgirls in the US iTunes store dubbed in another language (sounds like Russian??) It seems to be affecting only this particular movie... did a search of others and they're fine.

Is it a hack or random bug or...?

  • Itunes Store Language Jibberish

It seems that my Itunes Store is showing the language as jibberish. Lots of "@" symbols and nothing is readable. I reinstalled already and checked my language support, but nothing seems to be wrong. This happened when I upgraded to version 9.
Anybody that can help, I would appreciate it.

  • ITunes Store language mixup

    Hello everyone,
I have a very annoying issue with the iTunes Store: my MacBook Pro is setup in English, I've removed every other language from my computer, but I still get half of my Store pages in Dutch. I live in Belgium so i'm forced to use the Dutch Store but I don't see why I can't use the Store in English.
Most of the textbox headers in the Store are in English (e.g. QUICK LINKS, MORE IN MUSIC, IN THE SPOTLIGHT) but dialog boxes are in Dutch and so are other options. I wouldn't really mind if it was fully in either language, but this mixed thing is bugging me.
Is this a known problem with iTunes and the iTunes Store or is there an easy way to fix it. I would prefer to have everything in English.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

Try this. Not sure if it will work.
Make copy of the iTunes application.
Select the copy of the iTunes application and get info.
Under the Languages tab, delete everything except English.
Launch this and see what happens.
If it doesn't work, just quit and delete it and use the original.
However, this will only affect any dialogue boxes that are in the iTunes application. Any dialogs which originate from the iTunes store website, will most likely still be in Dutch.
After thinking about it for a second, you probably won't notice any change.
Your Mac OS is set up for English, so it will use the English language from the iTunes app. It most likely won't even look at Dutch.

  • HT204370 I would like to purchase 'Mary Poppins' Movie in English. When I view the trailer, in itunes store, it's in French, how do I know what language I will purchase?

I would like to purchase 'Mary Poppins' Movie in English. When I view the trailer, in itunes store, it's in French, how do I know what language I will purchase?

The film's description page should list the language(s) that it's in e.g. one of the version of Mary Poppins here in the UK store has :
If a film has different audio tracks then see this page for how to select one : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5562

  • Buying a movie in iTunes store in more than one language

    1. If a movie is available in multipule language can I buy it and have the two audio track ie..: french and english
    2. In the old Apple tv if i buy a movie i could get multiple audio track why cant it be done in the iTunes store?

The content owners/copy right holders dictate what content the iTS can sell. If the content is provided with multiple soundtracks then that is what you get. It is not up to the iTS what options come with the purchase. The iTS is a method of distribution.

  • Choosing the right language for movies downloadable on the iTunes Store

    Hello,
I just wanted to point out, that last night, I almost bought a movie in the non-original version through my iPhone/iPad and Apple TV, and this would have been a first (mistake). I have now noticed at work on iTunes that it does say what language the movie is in - I've also noticed some are multilingual, and some are just synchronized, and the language of the synopsis is not necessarily in the language of the actual movie, although I couldn't find my example from last night (?).
My suggestion would be to either introduce a preferred language option, or to clearly distinguish the languages in which a movie is available, to make sure appointments are avoided!
    Thank you!
    bisi

Suggestions to Apple will be best submitted through the iTunes feedback page. Your comments will be most likely to get to the proper people within Apple that way.
BTW, this forum is for questions about iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. Normally you will get the quickest and most applicable responses if you ask your questions in the general iTunes forums.
    Regards.

I'm on the itunes store and everything is in Russian and I need english. How do I change the language back?

On the iTunes Store homepage, look in the lower right hand horner. There should be a small round Russian flag icon. Click on it and you'll see a list of all the international stores to choose from.

  • HT2242 Change German language to English in German iTunes Store?

Is there a way we can change  the German iTunes Store language to English? Currently I don't see any options that would or could help.
Sometimes, its easier to use English words for common actions like share or gift. Than sticking to the native mother tounge.
Let this be a FEATURE REQUEST.
Enable ENGLISH LANGUAGE for all countries iTunes Stores.
    Thank you!

    Auxburgo,
To make sugegstions to Apple, you can use the iTunes Feedback form:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
In the menu for "feedback type," choose "Enhancement Request."

  • Change language displayed in ITunes Store

    Hi,
this might be a stupid question but I didn't find any solution to it so far. We do live in Austria and according tho ITunes Policy we have to use the Austria ITunes Store: Okay got that one!
Also my entire Apple network operates on English only all contents on the Itunes Store are displayed in b**y German. Can I change the ITunes store display language? ITunes, as a program itself, is adjusted to English due to my general language preference.
    An ideas????
By the way I have the same story now on my IPhone. So I guess its an account issue?
    Thanks

    yep... same issue here.
I had a few emails back and forth with an iTunes Store support member. He proposed this:
    iTunes: Changing the display language
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2242
This didn't work for me though, after which I was told to call the (fee-based) austrian apple-care.
Anyway: Seems like they're having a major hick-up here. Hope Apple solves this soon!
