Itunes Store Language Jibberish

It seems that my Itunes Store is showing the language as jibberish. Lots of "@" symbols and nothing is readable. I reinstalled already and checked my language support, but nothing seems to be wrong. This happened when I upgraded to version 9.
Anybody that can help, I would appreciate it.

There are no Helvetica fonts on my machine and the store comes with the squares as for Mr Sing in the second message of this thread: so removing the Helvetica fonts is no solution for me. If I install some Helvetica fonts from the web I get partly text instead of the squares, legible though not particularly good looking. Apparently the lines in the store replaced by the squares (or jibberish) are coded with the Helvetica fonts (which are not standard in Windows Vista) and the font replacement scheme of the web pages behind the store is not working reliably. This should be fixed by the store and not by the users...

  • ITunes Store language affects LPs language?

    Hi there,
I saw that other Europeans like me where surprised to see that our language preference in the iTunes store was overruled to local language. I live in Spain and I prefer to have everything in original version as long as I understand it. So, if iTunes is american I prefer to have everything in English and avoid translation errors. This was overruled and now I have to read everything in Spanish.
Now, what worries me is that the page of an LP album is also in Spanish ([link|http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=327628407 &s=143454]) like this case of the Doors album showed in the keynote. All the text and descriptions are in Spanish except the song and album names. There is no way that I know if the extra material of the LP album will come in spanish or in English. I'm not eager to spend 13eur in an album and end up with everything in a language I am not expecting.
Does anyone know how it ends up? LP albums come in original language despite the store's display language? Are we Europeans such freaks?
    Cheers,
    JP

  • Itunes store language driving my nuts

Husband bought me a itunes giftcard, how nice I know, anyways.
I download the itunes and the store always comes up in GERMAN! Everything else is in English. There is no way I want to pay 99 euro cents instead of 99 American cents.
I can't find anywhere where I can change the itunes store to the US site. Everything that I have found already is in English.
    HELP?

    Agreed!!
Help. I am English, but live in Spain. There are many European Countries with "British English" as well as their national language available in iTunes.
Except Spain, France, Germany and Italy.
The iTunes store lists Spanish music- not to my taste.
It can't be beyond 'the webmaster' to arrange that it is possible to pay in one currency, and operate in another language, and have material delivered to another!
There are other sites 'out there' that are capable of doing this.
I might want to buy apps in English and music in English, but the site isn't very user-friendly, unlike the iMac.....
Please someone out there- help us!

  • ITunes Store Language Settings

I am an American living in Mexico. I understand that I need to use the
Mexico store. My question is: can I change the language to English for
the Mexico store. I see on the apple website that you have a Latin
America (English) option. Can I have this option in the iTunes Store?
    Thank You for your time.

If you wish to run iTunes in a language that is not the default for the country that you are living in (and therefore paying from), the iTunes helpdesk point to this article. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2242 . This article indicates that the iTunes store should pick up the language you have assigned to your MAC, however this is incorrect. iTunes picks up the language from the country you designate you are paying from.
You can change the country by using the flag button at the extreme bottom of the iTunes home page, however this will allow you to find the things you want, but you must change it back to actually purchase the content.
If you think, as I do, that this is a fault with their system, the ONLY option you have is to complain to their helpdesk, email address [email protected] If you ask to have the e-mail referred to Ashley, maybe the sheer weight of complaints will get this sorted.

  • ITunes Store language mixup

    Hello everyone,
I have a very annoying issue with the iTunes Store: my MacBook Pro is setup in English, I've removed every other language from my computer, but I still get half of my Store pages in Dutch. I live in Belgium so i'm forced to use the Dutch Store but I don't see why I can't use the Store in English.
Most of the textbox headers in the Store are in English (e.g. QUICK LINKS, MORE IN MUSIC, IN THE SPOTLIGHT) but dialog boxes are in Dutch and so are other options. I wouldn't really mind if it was fully in either language, but this mixed thing is bugging me.
Is this a known problem with iTunes and the iTunes Store or is there an easy way to fix it. I would prefer to have everything in English.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

Try this. Not sure if it will work.
Make copy of the iTunes application.
Select the copy of the iTunes application and get info.
Under the Languages tab, delete everything except English.
Launch this and see what happens.
If it doesn't work, just quit and delete it and use the original.
However, this will only affect any dialogue boxes that are in the iTunes application. Any dialogs which originate from the iTunes store website, will most likely still be in Dutch.
After thinking about it for a second, you probably won't notice any change.
Your Mac OS is set up for English, so it will use the English language from the iTunes app. It most likely won't even look at Dutch.

  • How to change the itunes store language from german to english

The language on iTunes store and apps store on my iPad is set to German, how can I  hange it to English?

    Katjoh,
Each iTunes country-specific Store has only certain languages available.  For example the iTunes Stores in Germany and Austria can only be used in German, while the Switzerland store has English, German, and French.

  • ITunes Store language settings or using an overseas store?

Is there any way to change the Japan iTunes Store interface to display English instead of Japanese?
Or failing that, is there any way to use the US or UK stores if I only have a Japan credit card?

"Is there any way to use the US or UK stores if I only have a Japan credit card?"
No I'm afraid there's not. Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • HT2242 Change German language to English in German iTunes Store?

Is there a way we can change  the German iTunes Store language to English? Currently I don't see any options that would or could help.
Sometimes, its easier to use English words for common actions like share or gift. Than sticking to the native mother tounge.
Let this be a FEATURE REQUEST.
Enable ENGLISH LANGUAGE for all countries iTunes Stores.
    Thank you!

    Auxburgo,
To make sugegstions to Apple, you can use the iTunes Feedback form:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
In the menu for "feedback type," choose "Enhancement Request."
