ITunes Store - Network Connection 'timed out'
I have a TouchSmart 505 model with Windows Vista. This last week have had problems accessing the itunes store through my library link. Cannot download music from the itunes web page. I keep getting an error that says 'network connection timed out'. Have run through settings with the service provider who assure me the connection is good. Anyone out there who can help? Thanks

Sounds like a firewall is blocking itunes. Make sure you allow itunes access to outbound and inbound traffic.

Itunes store - network connection timed out / was refused!
Hi,
Can anyone help me? I am trying to connect to the itunes store but for some reason everytime i try i get a pop up message which either says -
'itunes could not connect to the itunes store. The network connection timed out' Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again'.
This also happens when I disable my Norton. If Norton is not disabled then the same thing happens but i get the same message saying the connection was refused.
This is very strange because i am using the new version of itunes 7 and i have been able to download music with no problems until this weekend!
Does anyone have any suggestions? I have already removed and re-added itunes 7 into the list of trusted programs on Norton but this has not helped! I have turned the computer off and back on several times and this has not helped either. I have also tried to run the network diagnostics using itunes however when i try this an error occurs each time and itunes closes! I can connect to the internet.
I have run out of ideas and am getting more frustrated! HELP!
Thanks Jane xHas anybody come up with an answer for this? I just re-installed mine on a new computer. Clicked on the itunes store and got that message that says no internet connection. This is extremely irritating!!!!!!!

What security software is running on the PC? The security software could be causing the issue, try to reconfigure or temporarily disable it.
You can also try flushing the DNS as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1527

Itunes error: network connection timed out
Every time I try and log into my Itunes account I get an error message saying We could not complete your Itunes Store request. The network connection has timed out. How can I fix it?
Edit: My virus scanner is Avg and I use ad-aware 2007 for spyware. I can't find a feature with either one that would block i tunes. Also, it's an allowed application with windows firewall.
Message was edited by: touch84Ive been having this problem for over 24 hours now. Bad bit is that I had restored my iphone just before this so ive been stuck without a mobile phone since then.
Symptoms:
Iphone appears in itunes but when the iphone tries to get onto the store to finish re-activation the connection hangs and then i get the error "we could not complete your itunes store request. the network connection timed out".
I can browse the itunes music store + podcast store and i can download podcasts.
Safari is working perfectly.
Anything anyone can suggest would be a big help. I presume it it apple's server's fault. -

Thanks very much.I have been experiencing this as well for about a month and just about five minutes ago I resolved it! I have done everything! You need to unistall iTunes and Quicktime. Don't think you will loose your music as it is on you PC. Trust me. _Follow the links_ on unistalling everything, download it again with the following link and all you music automatically uploads again. It was amazing!

Note: Titles you purchased from the iTunes Store or imported from CDs are saved in your iTunes folder by default and are not deleted by uninstalling iTunes.

Can not update iphone firmware using iTunes "The network connection timed out"
Hello,
I can not update the iphone firmware using iTunes.
Messagte displayed
"There was a problem downloading the software fo the iPhone. The network connection timed out.
Also seen stopped error -3259
I have run network connectivity tests from iTunes and All Tests passed.
Can anyone help?
Thank you,
JoanDid you make sure it was the exact file for your device and the latest version? I just downloaded the latest file for my iPhone4, put it in the folder I mentioned above and it ran the install versus downloading the file. This problem where it times out after downloading is a big Bug within iTunes that has been there ever since IOS 7.0 was released. I wished these apple developers would just fix iTunes. There are a ton of complaints about this issue. I sure miss Steve Jobs running this business, I really feel like it's gone down hill after he left.
I hope this helps!

MusicStore: "network connection timed out" error message
I am very frustrated. Just got an ipod for xmas and i love it. downloaded a bunch of songs and movies.
now, for whatever reason, i get an error message when i try to go to the Music Store: "network connection timed out. make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active and try again.".
Other facts
-i don't have any third party firewall, except the XP one which is turned off
-i have full internet connection (both on my home wifi and when i plug in the lan cable)
-i have erased and reloaded the latest i-tunes 6.0 software
-i have shut down and rebooted my machine at least a thousand times
-i have done the change to the windows "hosts" file as was mentioned by another user.
Can anybody help???
thanksYou will need to restart from the beginning. Try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed and see if that stops the network timeout.

I can no longer connect to the ITunes Store. CAn you help? When I do the diagnostics it says Securie link to itunes store failed.
I think I may be having the same problem. "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again." All tests pass the diagnostics. iPhone restored to factory settings in DFU mode, but when beginning to sync I get this error message. I've been searching online for fixes and tried several suggestions, but nothing worked so far. (disabled antivirus, firewall, ie settings, uninstall/reinstall itunes...) I'm getting very frustrated & hoping someone on here can help.

I keep getting this error message when I try to log into Itunes, has anyone else seen this error? If so how did you fix it?
Itunes could not connect to itunes store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, and try again.Have you disabled any firewall and security/antivirus programs? This seems to have helped the vast majority of people who have posted the same problem in this forum.

when i try to open my itues it says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, and try again"
I am having similar issues except that the store starts to load, then stops, then I only get iTunes Store in gray letters on a white screen. I can access playlist and the other stuff. Like flamesgirl, I contacted them and they just keep sending me links of stuff to try which I had already seen on the Apple website and nothing works. I posted the question on another forum I belong to and one responder said her husband was in an Apple store and asked about this problem as he was having the same issue. They said an update would be coming out soon as they were aware of the problem. Who knows.
