ITunes Store NEWBIE here

Testing iPhone for Corp Network. Never really purchased Music\Apps\Video from iTunes Store before so I am asking the following question:
If a user syncs his iPhone whith his Home System and creates an iTunes Account and then purchases a product from the store, will he be able to download the software (Music\App\Video) to more then his iPhone? ie, put music on iPhone and iPod
What happens when user gets a New System (Laptop) will this info be transfered to new laptop?
If you log into iTunes from a different Laptop, do you have access to the purchased music you already bought? Is it ever removed by Apple or does this stay on for life?
How many times can a user install the Music\Apps\Video?
Thanks

iTunes Store content varies by country or region.  The Singapore iTunes Store does not have music or videos.
You can rip your CDs into iTunes on your computer and then sync them to your phone.

  • Complete itunes, Ipod newbie here :(

I just got a new Ipod Touch, I have managed to get most of my songs into Itunes, but what do I do if I want to put the songs from itunes to another devvice like my motorolla cell phone?
I cannot seem to find a file with all the itunes songs in it to use with other types of devices and such?
Forgive me if this is common knowledge or has been answered before as I have no clue.

Okay, you were right when you were asking me "if the songs could play?". I thought they could, but actually it appears they could not, and although I imported all the songs to Itunes, they are still being hosted on my external hard drive.
    F: My Music.
(The "Where" tip with was very helpfukl in the end trying to get this figured out).
I guess I will have to direct motorola phone or other devices to that original folder.
Thank you very much for answering my questions, im sure I will have more threads as I get the hang of this.
Is there anyway I can instruct itunes to copy all the songs to my lappy and store them under the "usual" itunes folder?

  • To Complete this transaction, please contact iTunes Store

  • Itunes crashing at startup while trying to access Itunes Store

Hey all, below is a reply I wrote in another thread.  I found a workaround to this issue that's working for me.. thought I'd also create this new thread... hopefully will work for you too until (hopefully) Itunes update/patch fixes the issue.
Hello, bump for me on this really annoying issue.  Running Windows 7 SP1, fully updated drivers.  Using latest Itunes, 10.7.0.21.  Just like the others, every time I try to open Itunes, the Itunes store seems like it's trying to load.. and then I inevitably get the "Itunes has stopped working.. Windows is checking.. blah blah" and then crash. I have tried every fix I could find on these and other forums:
    1.  Uninstalled/Reinstalled all Apple software as per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 along with CCleaner to clean up any registry issues (after uninstall/before reinstall of course).  DIDN'T WORK.
    2.  Did the winsock reset listed here https://discussions.apple.com/message/17412059#17412059.  DIDN'T WORK.
    3.  Corrupt User Profile (Kernalbase.dll) Issue:  Did the renaming of corrupt Itunes folder listed here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-HK/w7itprogeneral/thread/be53aac5- c560-478a-9598-e0c6a33d9da7 and that worked the FIRST time after renaming the folder to Itunes.old.. i.e. opening Itunes after doing this was successful and thus created a new Itunes folder.  However, after closing itunes and reopening.. I was right back to square one.. Itunes crashing.  (This did "work" partially so probable that issue has something to do with Corrupt Itunes User Profile??)  Ultimately, DIDN'T WORK.
*BTW, I also did a Run Diagnostics from the help menu of Itunes and got 3 green lights for network connectivity.. one of which is of course "Secure link to Itunes store verified".  So Itunes is telling me it seems to be communicating fine with Itunes Store.
There's nothing else that I can see to do short of reinstalling Windows... which I really don't want to do.
HOWEVER, after some trial and error, I found a weird little workaround.  It seems like the crash is happening upon the initial attempt by Itunes to connect to the Itunes store.  Here's what I did:
    1.  After opening Itunes (and the initial opening event is so that Itunes tries to connect to Itunes Store -- this will happen if the last page you were on the last time you closed Itunes was Itunes Store), QUICKLY click on "Music" (or any other "offline" library) on the left upper pane of Itunes.  This will take you to your Music library and Itunes will STOP trying to connect automatically to Itunes store.  So now, Itunes is open at least.  Note:  Others have mentioned correctly that if you open Itunes with your internet connection off, it will at least allow you to open Itunes b/c Itunes doesn't try to open Itunes Store if you're offline.  My workaround accomplishes the same thing while still being connected to the internet.
    2.  Now, if you now click on "Itunes Store" directly, it WILL CRASH as per usual.
    3.  Instead, click on "Purchased"  which is directly under "Itunes Store".  Click ok to the pop-up.  Then, on the bottom right of the screen, click on "Download Previous Purchases".  This will open the previous purchases page which is actually WITHIN the Itunes store.  If you look at the left pane, Itunes Store will now actually be highlighted.  You're now in the Itunes store.. just via the "sidedoor" if you will.  You will also now see all the usual Itunes Store categories along the top of this page like the Home Icon, music, movies, tv, apps, etc. etc.  Click on the Home Icon (music, movies, whatever) and VOILA, it will open Itunes store without crashing!
    4.  Now that you're "in", you can jump around freely during THIS session.  IE, you can freely go back and forth from looking at your left-pane offline music library, movies, apps, whatever.. and click on Itunes Store in the left pane and Itunes will not crash... you know, how Itunes normally works!
    5.  When you're done using Itunes just make sure the last screen you use before you close Itunes is "Music" or some such.  That way, you won't have to do the "quickly hit Music" the next time you use Itunes.  It will automatically just go to the offline Music library and not try to access the Itunes Store.  Then, just repeat step 3 and you'll be "in" again.
I really hope this workaround works for you until Apple updates/patches Itunes for those of us that are having this issue.  If it keeps working for me, I'm gonna live with it until the next Itunes version update hopefully resolves this issue.
OH!  PS.  I'm also having the Apple Software Update issue mentioned here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4040994?start=60&tstart=0.  I have no idea how to solve this.. wondering if it's related to the Itunes crashing issue.  I'm also getting the error message when trying to update quicktime from the help menu here https://discussions.apple.com/message/19392457#19392457.

Did not get any responses - so did some digging and found the answer myself in other discussions.
    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

  • How do I remove my old iMac from my App Store and iTunes Store accounts?

Before I sold my friend my old iMac, I used the Migration Assistant to transfer all her files from her MacBook Pro to the iMac. I then deleted all my files. My old iMac and her MacBook Pro were both upgrated to Mavericks before the Migration.
Now, she is being prompted to download and install the updates for Numbers and Pages on what used to be my iMac, but the App Store displays my account identification and asks for my password.
    (1) How can I delete my old iMac from my App Store and iTunes Store accounts?
    (2) How can she access the App Store and iTunes Store using her own accounts?
    Thanks in advance.

That isn't how to prepare a Mac to sell or give away. You should deauthorize your iTunes account on the Mac. Call Apple Care and have the Mac disassociated from your Apple ID. Then erase the Mac and install the latest version of OS X that shipped installed on the Mac using the Install DVD or OS X Recovery, depending on what version shipped on the Mac. Until you do this, the Mac, OS X and the iLife apps belong to you. She will need to buy the iWork apps for herself, using her own account. You cannot pass any apps that you bought on to her, that would be piracy.

  • Why can I no longer connect to iTunes store?  Error 301..

Suddenly I cannot connect to iTunes. No idea why, apparantly it's error '301'. No firewall changes were made and iTunes is still permitted..

    Hello Josh,
I was researching what may be causing you to not be able to access the iTunes store, and found a couple of articles that may help you out. The first is an article named Can't connect to the iTunes Store found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368. There are steps to try depending on the Operating System you are running.
Also there is a more Advanced troubleshooting article called iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297 that may also help.
And if you havent already, a great troubleshooting set of steps would be to restart the computer, router and/or modem then retest.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Why isn't my podcast author value being updated in the iTunes store

I have three podcast feeds and recently updated the value in the author tag from "The MetalsPeakers" to "MetalsPeak.com". For some reason, that update is only showing up for one of the three feeds when I look them up in the iTunes store.
    Here are the three feeds:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/MetalsPeakInterviews
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/MetalsPeakPodcast
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/Metalspeak-Reviews
The first two still show "The MetalsPeakers" but the last one shows "MetalsPeak.com". I'm assuming this is coming from the author tag, but could be wrong. At any rate, I don't have "The MetalsPeakers" in any of these feeds anymore so does that mean it was cahced or something in the store? Is there someway to reset it?
    Thanks!

Your podcast has not been removed: it is at
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/from-the-word/id129024499
I was able to find it by searching, though it was some way down the results and not on the initial results page: you are competing with a lot of similar podcasts: the way to get to the top is to have a more unique title.

  • Can't get a secure connection to the iTunes store

Hey, been trying to connect to iTunes store for 4 months now. It used to work on my computer but now it says there's a problem getting a secure connection to the iTunes store. Its not the firewall or the network. Have tried: removing AVG, flushing dns, emailing apple, updating iTunes, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, changing to a new wireless network, but nothing worked. Have looked at all the pages of possible errors for windows but can't find anything that works.
Any ideas? My computer used to have Norton 360 on it but it was deleted. Could there possibly be some files remaining that are preventing a connection to the iTunes store?

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store - error messages in Win XP event log

I've been reading the posts and trying to connect to the iTunes store unsuccessfully for at least a week since installing the latest iTunes 9 update.
I've tried every suggestion I have found without success including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. I also used MSCONFIG to do a selective startup without services and then started iTunes, no luck with that.
I just went to Administrative Tools->Event View to look for clues.
Every day since March 31, 2010 there are multiple error messages for Bonjour Service. Probably one error for every time I tried to go to the iTunes store.
All of the Bonjour error messages are the same.
    The error message follows:
ERROR: read_msg errno 10054 (An exsisting connection was forcibly closed by the remote host)
I can see my store account information, but when I click DONE the process hangs.
When I click on iTunes Store, the status bar goes about half way and hangs. No error messages.
When I run iTunes network connectivity tests the results show a "Secure link to iTunes Store verified"
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Update to my original post
Still cannot see the iTunes store. Here is a list of what I have tried so far in addition to what I mentioned in the original post:
Changed parental controls to only allow access to iTunes U - cannot see iTunes U
Changed parental controls back to allow all access - cannot see the store
Updated my network driver - no change
Investigated the Error code 10054 on the internet for a solution.
    Found this posting:
    http://www.sqlservermart.com/resources/SynAttackProtect.aspx
Changed the registry as they recommended to include:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\SycAttackProtect{DWOR D} = 0
    Rebooted and no change.
iTunes network diagnositcs indicates I am able to connect to the store, but the status bar still hangs up about 1/2 way into the attempt to connect.
