ITunes store password popping up
in the past week or so my iPhone has been prompting me to enter my iTunes store password several times a day. Why? It never used to do this.

Have you got an app in there that hasn't finished installing or updating, or some songs from the store? That would be the most likely reason.
If you start to get something from the stores but then lose the network connection you'll get re-prompted for your password when the connection resumes.

What to do when your iPad keeps asking for the iTunes Store Password
I was using my iPad last night when it just started asking for my iTunes store password and I was browsing the web in safari. I just entered it and scratched my head. Later I was playing a game - the same prompt interrupted the game.
http://skitch.com/mbrad/dru2p/full-screen
It happened about five times before I finally went to the settings app and signed out of the app store. I don't think it's related to any one app since the prompt was happening at seemingly random intervals no matter what I was doing (even on the home screen with no app "running")
Signing out seems to have corrected the problem. Apps still run and I will try signing in again later once I need to download anything. I haven't done much other than update 5 apps earlier in the day.
Does anyone else have experience on what caused this?
Here's what it's not:
1) Time - I checked the date/time on the iPad - they were within seconds of my mac which sets time automatically on the internet.
2) Password wrong - I downloaded a free app from the store app on the device after entering the password - so the password was fine for a purchase/download after the prompt. (Yet the prompt came back again within 30 minutes)
Thanks,
MikeThanks for the suggestion! I did have two downloads for free songs I got from a card at Starbucks. They started but never came on my iPad (and that was 4 days ago). The store error is happening only yesterday - possible but a long time after the "failed download". I just got those songs after your suggestion on my mac by checking for available downloads. Maybe that was the root cause?
Add rebooting to "here's what it's not" - I forgot to write that down. Also - I was not interested in restoring the iPad - like taking a firehose to water a flower, that certainly would fix it at cost of overkill. (and maybe only until the backup was restored if the file causing the issue is something that would be backed up).
The problem seems to be that the device either doesn't save the password or something is causing it to be periodically marked as bad. Both ideas have me scratching my head. Rebooting didn't resolve the issue - only signing out from the store. -
i have my ipod attached to an old, out of date email and when i try to update from my ipod it says "your itunes store password is incorrect" Any ideas why/how to fix?
Try from a computer. You may have to reset your password. If you can't get the comfirmation email then you can use the secret question. Once you can log in then you change the the email address.

IPad asked iTunes Store Password out of Nowhere
Hello,
I'm using a 3rd generation iPad. Earlier in the day I was deleting some apps to make some space for the big iOS 8 upgrade. I have apps downloaded by two different Apple ID accounts and I probably deleted some apps which belong to both of them. Anyway my actual question is while I was doing that iTunes Store screen popped out from nowhere. I wasn't downloading or upgrading an app. And I didn't select the "upgrade automatically" option. I read some of the similiar stuff here but most of them was saying that it keeps doing that, mine was just a one time thing.
Do you have any idea what was it?Given the spate of identity thefts as of late (think of Jennifer Lawrence's nudie pix getting swiped from her phone), usage profiling has probably been tightened down. So, whenever you do something out of your ordinary workflow, the system automatically triggers a validation to make sure you are you. My credit card does that whenever I try to purchase something way different or more expensive.

Itunes store password is incorrect
Hi all,
I tried to update my apps, clicked on "update all" and then entered my password. I get a warning message that my Itunes store password was incorrect. Tried several times. Powered off the phone, tried again. Went to itunes on my PC and opened the store, password works fine.
I am using a 3gs with ios 4
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Ron

Any apps, music etc. purchased off the itunes store before you made the change still bring up the original USER ID to update, authorize etc. So if you try and enter the password without changing to the new user ID, even if the account is technically the same, you're going to get "incorrect password" or "can not connect to itunes" or possibly "account doesn't exist". I found this out the hard way when I upgraded from XP to Windoze 7.

I've tried everything to do with connection problems in the Help article re: the iTunes store with no results. Also contacted Support, which referred me to the Help article and to the Support Communities i.e. here; no dice. I get the idea that something's mixed up here; they told me it was probably my internet connection rather than an iTunes issue, but according to my diagnostics the network is working perfectly fine. It has to be something on the far end - especially since there would appear to be no less than four people with the issue.

Why does itunes store not pop up and not tell me why?
Why does itunes store not pop up and then not tell me why? i"m wondering if it could have anything 2do with me just transefering music with my flash drive?
Does it show in the Purchased section for downloading ? Click on the Purchased under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.
If not then have you tried logging out and back into the account ? If that doesn't work either then try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ -
Itunes store password required twice
everytime i start itunes (latest version on Windows) it wants my itunes store password twice, can anyone explain this or suggest how i stop it?
Try this,
After iTunes accepts new password, go to
iTunes Menu Store/Select Authorize This Computer.
The response is that it is already authorized.
This will resets the authorization. -

I know my apple id password. When I try to log into my apple tv, it asks for my apple iTunes store password and when I enter my apple store password, it is rejected. I tried to change my apple iTunes store password to the same as my apple id password and it says I have previously used that password which leads me to believe they are the same but then why does apple tv not accept it?
The boxed versions are installed at the same time and have shared auxiliary files. When you buy them through the Mac App Store they are installed individually and the auxiliary files that they could share are installed individually, so there is duplication and they take up a bit more room.
And as Kappy says, you cannot update them through the MAS, the boxed set must be updated through Software Update. -
"Accessing iTunes Store" box pops up every time I click on something new on itunes
When I open itunes it automatically tries to connect to the itunes store but the "connecting to itunes store" status bar keeps popping up even after it has connected. I'm unable to navigate the itunes store without this status bar popping up. I've updated to the latest version of itunes (currently version 10.3.1 for mac) and the same problem occurs.
I haven't had any luck with the itunes store after uninstalling and reinstalling the software. I've also tried to "deauthorize this computer" and then "authorize this computer" to try and fix the glitch- but everytime I try and sign into my account I get this message: "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store". It then takes me to another screen to review my account. But when I'm brought to the new screen my session times out and I can't review anything.
I'm going around and around in circles and it's becoming very frustrating. Does anyone have any other possible solutions???
I'll give a step by step breakdown of what's happening..
I open the itunes store.
Accessing itunes progress bar at the top of the window loads the itunes
store and after it loads there is still a top window that says
'accesing itunes store' with a 'stop' button option which stays open
for aprox. 1 minute after page is loaded.
I sign in with my account and password.
A dialouge box appears that says, "This Apple ID has not yet been used
with the itunes store. Please review your account information.
cancel or review option boxes.
I click review.
Accessing itunes store progress bar appears in the upper part of the
window as well as in a seperate window box like before and this box
stays open after page has loaded like before.
The window box goes away and the window says, "Welcome to the itunes
store; To begin creating your apple id click continue".
I click continue.
A new window appears and says, "your session has timed out. Try
again". option to click a box marked 'done'.
...And this takes me back to square one.Did you ever resolve the question?
I have exactly the same complaint and your question has 338 views - which leads me to believe our question is not unique. -
Auto login issues to iTunes Store password incorrect
Running Windows 7 with iTunes 11. When I open iTunes and it attempts to auto login I get an error message that my password is incorrect (see image below). I can type in the correct password and everything works fine until I close iTunes and reopen it, then I get the same error. Steps I have tried to resolve issue: 1) Logged out of iTunes, 2) deauthorized this computer and reauthorized it, 3) Reset warnings and cache. All to no avail.
When you change your USER ID (which is generally your E-MAIL), Itunes for some reason gets confused...

I'm trying to download an app on my iphone but it tells me that the iTunes password I've entered is incorrect. That being said, using the password I tried for the app download I am able to successfully login to my iTunes account. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I need to do to fix it?
I would say, next time at your computer, ensure you are logged into the iTunes store on the computer before syncing your phone. The iPhone gets this info from they sync and only gets it if you are logged into the iTunes store when you sync.
Then try again. -
Was advised to uninstall mobile device helper because a window kept popping up about every 45 seconds saying it had stopped working.Uninstalled it that took care of that problem, but now I have a new one.I can't access the iTunes store.Every time I click the store icon a window pops up saying iTunes has stopped working.Any suggestions anyone.
anyone?
*i've managed to download quicktime, but am still unable to download itunes. after reaching a certain point in downloading itunes, (about 1/3 of the way?) it stops at "copying files", and my computer freezes and i have to hold the power button in order to shut it off and do anything, or i get a popup asking me if i want to change something so itunes can finish downloading. i click "yes", but then the download stops completely and i get a message saying "itunes has finished downloading, but with errors" and it tells me to download it again.
a popup from MobileServiceDevice keeps appearing as well, but it won't go away. the details are:
