ITunes Store Podcast browsing changes

Now when I go to the iTunes store for podcasts I can only browse using the columnar browser. How can I get back to the visual based podcast searching?

I sure hope this is just a software glitch. Because otherwise the inspiration for the name "Podcast" has really harmed the independent podcaster. I've been posting a podcast for 2 years from my basement, have a decent following, and now i don't even appear in the browser. What's up with this?

My itunes store podcast page

Is it possible to customize the page that displays when you are looking for podcasts in the iTunes store? I submitted a podcast I made, and in the process you submit a URL for the small graphic on the podcast page, but in the iTunes store, there are featured albums or podcasts that have background graphic and it looks like customizable content. Anyone one know if this is possible for anyone uploading content to the itunes store, or just features. Somehow this tag got set in my FeedForAll template and then got replicated as I cloned new episodes into the feed.
I've already fixed the tags and upload the new XML.

ITunes Store Podcast Approuved Notification LOST

I lost the iTunes Store Podcast Approuved Notification. I submitted an RSS feed via iTunes Store and I will put the responded iTunes link : http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=...
Additionnaly, I don't find my podcast in the iTunes Store...so strange...
How can I get the iTunes pocast URL again ?

Your podcast appears to consist of mixes of Michael Jackson and perhaps other records (I haven't examined the episodes in any detail), presumably mostly commercially issued tracks.
If you have not obtained either permission in writing from the copyright owners, or a podcasting licence from a recognized authority, then you are in breach of copyright and that would be sufficient reason for your podcast to be removed (they may only just have woken up to it). I have to say that when they reject a podcast for reasons of content they really ought to give an indication that this is why.
If you have in fact cleared the material for use in your podcast then you would have to make this clear to Apple.
If you are able to resubmit and get approval, and are able to retain the same feed URL, then your subscribers shouldn't be affected.

Are iTunes Radio and iTunes Store podcasts available on Apple TV?

As you've figured out by now, the ATV selections are limited to the iTunes store. I mentioned the Mac mini because it can do iTunes, Roku and Internet video, along with network shares sans iTunes.
If you compare the iTunes store with Netflix, you'll like find they both have offerings the other does not. There has yet to come a video service that offers everything, and the only device that comes close to being able to play everything is still a computer. A computer with an HDMI port is a welcome addition to the lineup.

ITunes Store Podcast Rejected Notification

Hi guys..
I received a 'iTunes Store Podcast Rejected Notification' email on the 1st of this month & ever since then i've been trying to get to the bottom of it.
My podcast had successfully been on itunes for almost 4 years without a hitch & out of the blue it was removed by itunes for no apparent reason.
I've been emailing them back & forth & around 25 emails later they still haven't given me any specific answers (just links to various sites) & all they do is avoid the questions i ask & talk like robots. Now they have rudely ignored the last 10 emails i've sent.
I can't understand why it has been removed as it has been on there for almost 4 years without a problem. My new episode was on there for a couple months & actually reached number 3 in the charts.
I would also like to know if i do fix eventually fix this problem & manage to re-submit successfully, will i still have all my subscribers?
So to the technical side.
- I've tried re-submitting the feed maybe 10 times to no avail. Not even an email to acknowledge it.
- I've used a 'feed validator' & it says the feed is fine
- I've successfully managed to subscribe to the podcast via 'advanced', 'subscribe to podcast' through itunes & all the episodes appear fine
I don't manually touch the feed itself. I post on to 'Podomatic' & i assume they deal with how the feed works.

ITunes store: podcast showing old icon

OK... I'll give that a try. Didn't look that closely at the filesize, it would be nice if the written specs mentioned the filesize limitations.

The name of the filename is automatically changed by the CMS when an image in the system is updated/replaced. (The long string of hex digits is actually a guid based on a hash of the visible bitmap.

I updated the ios on my ipod touch. Now when I browse the itunes store on my ipod, it only allows a very brief visit before automatically closing me out. I have to go back into the store and begin searches etc all over again. Is this a setting or a problem that is randomly occuring? I use to look for hours. Any thoughts?

Ivory Coast not in the iTunes Store's list of countries? Country on iTunes Store cannot be changed to Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire)

Hi,
I would like to know if Apple is planning to add more African countries to its list of Itunes Store countries (and if so aproximately when).
NYC or in London.
Here is my issue. I have moved from London to Abidjan (Ivory Coast) over a year ago and my foreign bank cards have recently expired which means any payments with these are now impossible. I will get my new cards during my next trip to the UK in 6 months.
I have been trying to make several purchases and most recently to upgrade from Mac OS 10.6.8 to OS X Mountain Lion but I can't because it is currently impossible to change the Itunes Store country to IVORY COAST/ Cote d'Ivoire (from the United Kingdom).
To top it off, although it is now possible to make iTunes payments trough www.clickandbuy.com (was excited and went through the process of setting up, verifying and prefunding a Clickandbuy account to make my OS X Mountain Lion payment) iTunes refuses a payment if the country of the credit/debit card registered with Clickandbuy (Ivory Coast) is different from that of the iTunes store country (United Kingdom).
This is a huge disappointment because I fail to understand why one would use Click and Buy or Paypal or ay other similar secured online payment service to make a payment in Itunes if one can use iTunes directly. What was the point of adding Click and Buy as a mean of payment in the first palce? and if they were able to verify my account, then why can't Apple do the same especially when I am an existing client?
Seriously this means Apple customers from certain African countries are being discriminated, if I was based in Cotonou or Accra, I would be allowed to change my store to Benin or Ghana and make payments with a local credit card. This is not fair.
Apple pls you have to do something about this Country issues in the iTunes Store!

itunes:order tag is not working in the iTune Store Podcast Page!

I used <itunes:order> tag in my podcast rss file and the items sort correctly when I subscrbe to my podcast (rss file) directly from iTune. However, after submitting and publishing the feed to iTune Store they are all out of order! Also about 30 of them are missing!! How can I get them in the right order and add the other 30 to my podcast?

It's not really possible to comment unless you would like to publish the URLs of both your feed and the Store page - this latter can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image (or where it should be) - and choosing 'Copy link'. Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable.

Info for purchased items (e.g., genre, year) keeps reverting to what's assigned by iTunes store after I change it

Problem that seems to have cropped up recently...
For purchased items, the changes I make to track info keep reverting to what the iTunes store had initially assigned. For example, genre - I've created some of my own, or changed the assigned genre for some songs after downloading. These genres determine where songs show up in my various smart playlists. They also keep my similar music together. I've painstakingly changed genres on downloaded music, but when I look at my library in song view the next time I launch iTunes, they're all back to what they were when I downloaded them.
This also happens for all the other details: album, year, album artist, etc. It's driving me mad!
Please advise.
I want Devo under New Wave, dammit, not Pop. Why can't I change these and have them stay that way? Anyone else finding this?

2009 Keynote is corrupted in the iTunes store podcast section.

Outstanding - the 2009 keynote is finally up on the iTunes store (the streaming versions of Apple's keynotes are impossible to watch anywhere outside the US that I've tried over the years). Just search podcasts for "Apple Keynotes". Sadly the second half of the video iTunes downloads is nothing. Just the same still frame repeated endlessly. After twice failing to get an uncorrupted video from the NZ iTunes store I'm going to try the US store, though I doubt it's a different source sigh Apple - why didn't you check your video first? Over 150MB of it is nothing. I pay NZD$1.02 per GB downloaded here in NZ so repeated efforts to find an uncorrupted source of your keynote is costing me

I find the same thing, any streaming event is un-watchable, no comments on the Telecom infrastructure here!
It's great this footage is available as a podcast, I grabbed 3 unsuccessful copies yesterday at 250 the first go and two at 350MB each on different computers and finally clicked that it's still being distributed through the CDN (Akamai?) even after the link is published in iTunes. So you have to wait X hours or a day for it to replicate everywhere.
Today I have a successful copy.
I wish all of the iTunes content, inc podcasts was available through a CDN that peers with Telecom, but I guess that would cost the content creators too much.

ITunes Store in browser problem

I have a problem with my browsers and iTunes.
When I'm on a page like http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/galcon-fusion/id364902651?mt=8 I can't use the "View In iTunes" link or button. The page won't find iTunes.
This may seem like a small problem but I usually find my apps on sites like gizmodo or appvee and then I come to thees "itms pages".
It's not just in Safari but in Minefield and Chrome to.
I just cleaned my computer (formatted it) so I'm on a clean Windows 7.
iTunes 9.2.1.5 installed and connected with my Apple account.
Tested to turn of my Anti-virus program.
Any ideas?

IE8 seems to be the only browser that will open itunes store links on Windows 7. You can report it to Apple.

I am from Ireland but currently living in New Zealand. I am thinking of changing iTunes Store to New Zealand and I just want to know how to do it? If I do change it can it be changed back easily enough?

Yes, until you change back to your other store. You must have a separate account, Apple ID, and billing address valid for the other country's store.
