ITunes Store - search results

Is there a way to view search results in column view?

Dave,
You must request inclusion into the iTunes Store under your "Edit Site Settings" link for search results from you site to appear when searching globally in the iTunes Store.
Right now search results will work if you are in your site.
It can take a while to get approval for the store, so if you have already requested inclusion please have patience.
thanks.

  • How do I sort new iTunes store searched results (ie Popularity)?

New iTunes Store (Ver. 11.0) will not let me sort search results.
I'm almost certain this was a feature in older versions of iTunes store but can't get to work in new version.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I too am having this problem. Just searched for a song title which threw up around 300 results - I could always sort those by artist or album or time (this was really useful as I buy a lot of remixes and used to sort by time - just looked first at the longest, often), etc. Additionally I cant  widen the columne so cant see any of the titles fully even. The whole search results page seems completely useless. Classical searches will be a nightmare with hundreds of recordings and seemingly no way of sorting and cant even see the information fully. One thing I have discovered with this awful new ITunes is that after hours of playing around many things are in fact there - just in very odd places or in different (and less user friendly) set up . . . I have also had some fantastic help through these pages - thanks everoone.
This search result glitch does seem a real mistake surely ? If nothing else it makes me FAR less likley to buy - i cant find anything !  Lets hope I"they" cotton on to that effect and sortsit out . . . .

  • ITunes Store Search Results Not Showing Up

Unable to see the search results in the iTunes App Store.
I'm using iTunes v10.6.3. Whenever I type in my search criteria, all I get is a black box underneath my search bar (see photograph, top right). Using my cursor, all I get when going down inside the black box area is horizontal white bars with no text.
All I have installed to change the appearance of iTunes is the iTunes Button changer and the Crystal Black theme.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have had this problem occurring in the last couple of updates. I cannot remember exactly when it first happened.

    FollowUp - Problem Solved.
Just in case anyone else was experiencing the same issues, I pinpointed it down to a corrupted iTunes preference file - com.apple.iTunes.plist.
I created a new user account, lauched iTunes and it worked fine, no black drop down window appearing, so I went back into my account and deleted this and relaunched iTunes and the drop down window showed all the search results again, not the black window as seen in my example image.
    Hope this helps others!

  • Dont resize iTunes Store search view

So I search for a song on iTunes Store and the result shows in the bottom of the application. I then resize some of the columns so I view all text. Now thats fine. Works perfectly.
The problem is when I do another search. Then the view that I just resized to be able to view long song and album names are reset to the original tiny size and Ill have to resize them again.
I dont like this. It ***. All the other listview remember their column width. Can you please also add this feature to the listview in the iTunes Store search result.

We're just your fellow users here. I'd suggest you send your comment directly to Apple via the iTunes feedback page.
    Regards.

  • Show page correct - store search results incorrect

    Hi. I submitted my feed:
    http://www.tomrbaynham.com/feed/podcast/
    Received the iTunes show page:
    http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=337486702
The show page has the correct details - Podcast image, "The Investigative Author" and description etc.
When I search for my show in iTunes, the search results display the old information when I initially submitted the feed: Default Wordpress image, original blog title "The First Time Author". If I select the show, it shows the page with the correct, updated information.
How can I get the search page to update? It seems bizzare that the search is incorrect when the actual show page is up-to-date.
    Any help is much appreciated!

I'm afraid I can't answer that - I'm not privy to the exact method by which the various parts of the Store work. If you feed is behaving entirely correctly in the Store page then there isn't anything you can do except wait and hope it will eventually correct itself: you could ask Support -
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/podcast/
but I'm afraid you will probably only get a form answer which likely won't address the problem.

  • ITunes Store Search, Broken the last 4 days

On and off the itunes store search has been broken for the last four days. Searching the store for a specific author "courtney brown" will time out about 2 minutes later with a "504" error. Trying anything else does the same. It's been this way on and off for the last four days, my friends on IM say the sam thing.
When is Apple going to fix this? I'm really frustrated so much so that I signed up with audible.com to buy my audiobooks because there webpage search isn't broken like Apple's iTunes.
try searching for hemi-sync or something else it just hangs!
    Annoyed customer...

I'm not happy with iTunes Store search either. I haven't gotten a timeout error but sometimes, I'll be searching for something I know is there, and iTS search can't find it. Google has been helpful in those cases. Google found your hemi-sync download on iTunes:

  • ITunes Store search still broken

There have been previous posts on this topic, but I just wanted to raise it again.
The search function on iTunes is really buggy, and doesn't inspire confidence:

    Shows up fine, right?
Now search for Danger, or Danger (The
    Where's it gone???
This is very bad - I would think the suppliers of music would be upset too - their product not showing up and all...
Also, whilst on that song, try clicking on the arrow link to the Artist - the link is broken... so why put the link there?

  • Podcast isn't showing up in iTunes store search

    Hi all-
I have a podcast that's been up and running on iTunes for a few months now but i have one problem: unelss you serach for my podcast by its title "BuckAround" it does not show up in any search results.  I use Squarespace to host my podcast and have the iTunes search words set as "Wisconsin, Badgers, College, Football, BuckAround" but no combinatino of any of the other terms has my show come up in the results.
Can anyone offer help as to what I'm doing wrong? Or is it simply an issue of me needing to build a bigger audience before iTunes returns my show in the results?
    Many thanks!
    Rich

The Search facility has never worked well with keywords. As long as you have your keywords correctly referenced there isn't really anything you can do about it.

  • Which fields are used for iTunes Store search?

    Guys,
I'm tring to work out how iTunes searches podcast XML (on the 'Search iTunes Store' bit of iTunes - I'm sure it all comes up in power search) as I want to target my podcast as best possible (and cut down updating XML if it's not even being used!). Can anyone help pin this down?
    <channel><title> = yes
    <channel><itunes:author> = yes?
    <channel><description> = no?
    <channel><itunes:summary> = no?
    <channel><itunes:keywords> = no?
    <item><title> = no?
    <item><itunes:author> = yes?
    <item><description> = no?
    <item><itunes:summary> = no?
    <item><itunes:keywords> = no?
    Cheers!

The following I know are what you need to focus on,
to have people be able to find you:
    <channel><title> = yes
    <channel><itunes:author> = yes?
    <channel><description> = no?
    <channel><itunes:summary> = no?
    <channel><itunes:keywords> = no?
