ITunes store try to open closes iTunes altogether

I recently installed iTunes on my computer and have had one GIANT problem from the beginning as soon as I open the iTunes store it tries to load and then CLOSES ITUNES ALTOGETHER!!! it's so aggrivating I was wondering if anyone could help me.

Well I don't know exact security programs you have, but some firewalls if they see something "Reaching out" to connect on the internet that does not have permission or it sees as an intruder, will close the program altogether in order to protect the system.
Also I don't know even if you have any antivirus programs that is causing it neither, I don't use AOL, but I know they offer some form of antivirus protection with there service.
From what I understand so far, iTUnes works OK on your system UNTIL you try to access the itunes store, thats when the program is closed or crashes correct?

Try dragging a photo to the desk top, highlight it and press COMMAND I this will open the info window, in the drop down menu "open with" select either preview, or other, then select iPhoto. Preview is the default.
    Then click "Change All"

"You can add the PATH enviromental variable in Control Panel> System> Advanced System Settings.
    Alternatively, I was successful just copying the QTMovieWin.dll from c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\ INTO c:\program files (x86)/iTunes"

  • When i try to open the iTunes app on my iPhone 4S it will just close me out of it... How do i fix this?

When i try to open itunes it just closes. I need help soon!

Do other apps connect to the internet ok e.g. Safari - and does the App Store app work ? And after logging out of your account on your phone you were able to log back in ok ?
There is a bit of troubleshooting on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368 - it also suggests checking that the date and time are correct on your device. You could also try disconnecting and reconnecting to your network

  • Whenever I try to open the iTunes store, it won't load.

Whenever I try to open the iTunes store, the page will load about halfway and then a blank white screen will appear. I don't receive an error message or anything. The only thing that I can view is my iTunes account settings. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes several times but it hasn't solved the issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem.  I went into software updates and updated security, and two other updates (can't remember exact updates) then restarted my macbook.  My macbook wouldn't start!
I found information about restting the SMC (System Management Controller).
    Unplug the power adapter.
    Remove the battery.
Hold the power button down for 5 secs.
Reconnect the battery and power adapter.
    Press the power button.
My Macbook started up and I opened up itunes and the itunes store opened up with images.
I think the resolution was the software updates, but I'm not 100% sure so I included every step that was made.

  • I When ever I try to open iTunes, it immediately freezes and says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close."

I am using a Windows 7 laptop, 64 bit. When ever I try to open iTunes, it immediately freezes and says "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling, and also going back to previous versions. Any ideas as to how to fix this? Thanks!!

You need to remove all installer file, uninstall iTunes and all related programs, then do a clean install.
    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

Generate another of those errors, and click the "Click here" link in the error message box.
What modname and modver do you see for the error? (Precise spelling, please.)
If the error is a BEX and you thus aren't seeing a modname or modver, let us know what P1 through P9 items are being listed for the error.

  • Syncing from iphone 5c to itunes error pictures already open close and try

syncing from phone to itunes  stoped "ios currently using windows  pictures&videos already open close and try again

    Hi Rhub4rd,
What that alert means is that your iPhone 5c does not have a newer version of iOS on it to support that back up of your iPhone 4s. To get passed this you would need to update your iPhone 5c to the latest version to then restore from the back up you made with iTunes. Take a look at the articles below for more information to get you started and where you want to be with getting your information to your new iPhone.

I am having similar issues except that the store starts to load, then stops, then I only get iTunes Store in gray letters on a white screen. I can access playlist and the other stuff. Like flamesgirl, I contacted them and they just keep sending me links of stuff to try which I had already seen on the Apple website and nothing works. I posted the question on another forum I belong to and one responder said her husband was in an Apple store and asked about this problem as he was having the same issue. They said an update would be coming out soon as they were aware of the problem. Who knows.

  • Can I get help with podcasts?  When I try to open the podcasts, itunes crashes, says "itunes has detected a problem and must close", or the spanish equivalent since my xp is in spanish.  everything else works fine, it even downloads podcasts and syncs.

The only other thing I can suggest is to use the Repair option for iTunes.
Download the iTunes programme (do not uninstall your current iTunes) and then "install" the new copy. At some stage you should see an option to "install" or "Repair". Take the Repair option.
Once you've done that, if you still have a problem, I don't know what else to suggest, except to search through the discussions to see if anyone else has had the problem and managed to fix it.
