Ipod classic 160GB very slow sync and cannot connect to itunes store windows 7 ansd itunes 10.6.0.40. I have now been trying for 3 weeks to restore my iPod. Really frustrated, any ideas would be welcome.

Cured the problem! Reinstalled an earlier version of itunes from oldapps.com (version 10) now everything works as it should. I would suggest that if you are experiencing these problems that you do the same. I must say that it is a brave business decision on behalf of apple to effectively lock out all windows 7 users from their products and sales channels and I can only wish them luck in this very shortsighted policy.

  • Blank iTunes Store Window

Whenever I try to open iTunes on my family’s mac mini, I get a blank window. I can see my account info and am connected to the internet, using itunes 12, and not getting a specific error message. Any suggestions?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then open the iTunes Store window. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • ITunes freezes on Sign In to iTunes Store - Windows 7 64 bit

In the last 48 hours I have not been able to use my iTunes software as it hangs immediately after launching.
I have tried a number of options to rectify the problem including Repairing the iTunes installation, Uninstalling/Reinstalling the program and System Restore to name a few. After some hours of searching I have established (after reading support.apple.com/kb/ts1717) that when I remove the Roaming Preference Files I am able to run iTunes however at this point it no longer automatically signs into the iTunes store. The problem arises as soon as I enter my user id and password the program becomes unresponsive.
I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions anyone could provide to help rectify the problem.
    Thanks

    Same problem.
Latest version of iTunes (10.5.2.11) and iCloud 1.0.2.17 installed. Only installed iCloud on the latest update.
iTunes frequently froze, so I deleted my roaming profile (having read of others having success by doing this).
iTunes now launches fine, downloads subscribed podcasts etc, I can access the iTunes store, but as soon as I try to log in using my apple id then itunes freezes and must be closed using task manager.
    I'm using Windows 7 32bit.
I just tried launching the iCloud control panel and it froze up too. Uninstalling iCloud didn't seem to fix the problem.
I can buy apps etc through my ipad and iphone, so maybe I can use itunes without logging into the store, but frankly I wish I could ditch itunes as the interface for my iphone/ipad.

I'm having the exact same problem although I have Windows XP.  I submitted an email to iTunes Support, but the auto response I got indicated that I would have to wait up to 48 hours for a response.  I'm pretty annoyed by that.  I can't believe there isn't a phone number I can call for help.  Someone just told me that if I had a protection plan I could call, but as much money as I spend on iTunes already........

  • ITunes Store window automatically scrolls back to the top of the page

    Hey gang -
I have a problem that is really quite funny except for the fact that I am so frustrated I could cry.
    Computer/software: MacBook OSX 10.4.11 with iTunes 7.6
This just started on my Macbook: I open the iTunes store and when I try to navigate down the page, the second I "let go" of my scroll the window immediately scrolls back to the top of the page. This seems to be happening on all pages in the iTunes store. No other program seems to be affected, neither is my library within iTunes - just the store. This happens when I use the trackpad, the scroll bars and my bluetooth mouse.
I can't get any iTunes content beyond the height of my Macbook window! It is maddening!
I have closed and opened iTunes several times and rebooted twice. Any other ideas?
    Thank you!

    Hi There
I had the same problem and im using iTunes 7.6.1 (9)
The problem seems to be related to what kind of firewall your behind.
The network I'm on at the moment is very strict and will not allow anything else than www basicly. So I connected to a different network via VPN and use it as my default gateway. iTunes stops scrolling back after I connect to this network (a restart of iTunes might be needed). And I think this is the only place that iTunes has acted up. Think it works fine at my home lan.
Hope this helps and that you haven't thrown your mac out the window!

  • ITunes Store Window too wide

The iTunes window is too wide, and the columns too far apart. When I want to purchase a tune, I can't see the BUY icon from the song list, and if I move the screen to the right, I can't see which song I'm purchasing. I have to keep moving the screen back and forth to read an entire row in the iTunes store. This is going to drive me crazy...there must be a solution for this.

There is actually a setting for this which I found and fixed. Now, I have the perfect screen all the time!

  • Unknown error -3212 when attempting to access iTunes Store (Windows 7)

This apparently is a firewall problem. I'm running Norton 360 on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I managed to solve the problem by going into Security>Manage Firewall>Program Rules, scrolling down to iTunes and setting the the Access level. Apparently Norton 360 occasionally (not always?) resets itself to "Auto" when a new iTunes update is installed. I reset it to "Allow" and access to the iTunes Store is restored.

    Hello there,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Since this error 0x800903318 combined with the network connection error message is occuring when you're trying to connect to the iTunes Store, I'd like you to please follow the steps in the article linked to below.

  • Accessing iTunes Store window stuck when I try to open. It won't let me click on anything else

When I open my iTunes a window pops up saying "Accessing iTunes Store" it won't let me click on anything else....SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

  • Cannot access itunes store windows 8.1?

I can run Itunes but if I try to access Itunes Store, Itunes stops with this message "Itunes has stopped working".
I am using windows PC running windows 8.1.

Here is the fix.  I have Windows 8.1, too, and had the same problem.  This fixed it.  Be sure to reboot after you do the following.  It works!
    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
If you need help, let me know.  It's a really simple fix.

  • How can i change the background color in the itunes store window from black?

I can't use the iTunes store because the font and the background are both black. The change took place during a recent upgrade.

Themes work in Thunderbird - duggabe was not refering to Firefox.
Another useful addon is theme and font changer:
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
However, Thunderbird allows you to modify all sorts of things.
Make hidden files and folders visible:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    Click on 'show Folder' button
a window opens shwoing profile folder name
Close Thunderbird now - this is important
In the profile name folder, Create a new folder called '''chrome''' - note the spelling
It should be in the same place as the 'Mail' folder.
    see first image below.
    Open Notepad
Can be located : Start > Programs > accessories
Copy everything shown between the lines below.
    Paste into Notepad.
Save as '''userChrome.css''' - note the spelling (edit updated - this was a typo error)
This should be saved in the '''chrome''' folder.
    see second image below.
    Restart Thunderbird.
I have chosen a yellow for you
    <pre>
    #f6f58c = a yellow....it is a hex code for a colour.
    </pre>
You can change it if required. Remember when updating anything in the profile folders, you must close Thunderbird first.

  • Can't login to iTunes store - windows 7

This is driving me mad. For the past 3 days or so I've been unable to login the iTunes store. Nothing has changed on my computer, no updates to windows or security software and yet it won't work.
I've sent emails, gone through all the help topics and nothing works. I've found apple's replies less than helpful on this. Now I can't buy music, download my app updates or anything!
Please, if there is anyone at Apple our there who actually cares about the service their customers receive, please will you post something to help. I'm fed up going round in circles.

If you'd like help from we your fellow users, who are the only people who will respond here, post details about your problem and what you've tried and perhaps someone here can offer suggestions. In particular, if you run the Network Diagnostics in iTunes:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3204
and post the results here, that may provide some clues.
If you want assistance directly from Apple, you will need to call Apple technical support or visit the Genius Bar at an Apple Store.
    Regards.
