ITunes store won't accept my password

Just changed ISPs (from Orange Wanadoo to BTInternet. Had the 'engineer' come out and do all the connecting stuff because I ALWAYS get it wrong.
He said he had connected everything and all would be OK.
But it isn't.
I wanted to check email on my iPhone, and it wouldn't. Took my phone to an O2 shop (where I bought it from) and bloke there got it going eventually.
Back home, I want to download the BTFON app, but when I enter my iTunes password, it is rejected.
Can't understand what is going on, and getting very, very angry with it because virtually nothing works like it did.
Can anyone PLEASE tell me what to do to get my iPhone to accept an app download from iTunes?
Many thanks,
Bill

I tried "resetting" my password, but b****y iTunes just keeps asking me for ANOTHER password, and won't accept the password I want to use! I'm getting mighty fed up with iTunes - I'm a senior citizen, and my memory isn't as sharp as it might have been, so passwords HAVE to be fairly simple and OBVIOUS to me. I can't just keep thinking up new passwords because they are getting more and more irrelevant, and I will NEVER remember them.
What am I supposed to do now?
I can't use my iPhone when I'm out of the house, because it won't recognise my new email address and password. I can't use BTFON because it needs my password, which I can't get iTunes to accept.
I can't get the bloody thing to do anything, and although it cost me £600 when I bought it 2 years ago, I'm not very happy with it any more because I just can't get the thing to do anything.
HELP!!!!
Bill

  • ITunes store does not accept my Password anymore.

ITunes store does not accept my Password anymore.

I'm still having the same problem ... 6 months after your original post!  I've just had to reset my pw 2 days in a row, and I've been through so many resets over the past 6 months that I'm running out of ideas for passwords that I'll have a reasonable chance of remembering.  But I also always make a careful note of my important passwords, and after the 1st "password error" message, I check my list and enter the password very slowly and carefully.  So, I think I'm pretty safe in claiming that neither entering the wrong password nor making a typo is the problem!
Oddly, though, I could usually cancel the password-reset process, then go right to the the iTunes Store, where my password would work fine, allowing me to open and view all my account details.
Several months ago, I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Tech Support trying to get this fixed. He was great and we thought he'd found the problem with my account.  (When I originally set up my iTunes account 6 years ago, I used a different email address than I used when I set up my new Mac last year, and that seemed to be causing some sort of conflict within my account.  Hard to imagine someone might change email addresses sometime over a 6-year period, right?  But apparently, the software designers didn't cover that possibility with one of their recent updates of the master system for customers' accounts -- that's the Tech Rep's surmise, not mine.)
Everything seemed to work fine for a few weeks, but then the problem started occurring again ... over and over and over ...

I have reset my password and my I cloud and App Store won't accept the new password

Normally it's the Apple ID that's tied to your content not your password (You can change your password every day if you want to). Try again and choose the option I forgot my password and your will get an e-mail how to go about it.

  • App store won't accept my password

App store wouldn't accept password, refused three times so I had to change it. Same thing happened again. Message says 'unknown problem'. Yet I can sign in to My apple ID and to this help page. What is going on?

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try again.

  • App store won't open  and itunes store won't accept my apple id.

MY macbook pro, running Maverick  10.9.5 will not open itunes store (12.0.1.26) software updates or app store or icloud, (which may be the culprit). I can log into this forum  and my ID works on my Imac itunes, so it is not an identity or connection problem. IT is specific to the Macbook. I have spent a couple of days trying to sort this, but  I am not very good at code sort of stuff. I have double checked  all the date time location stuff.  I have tried doing the utility- teminal  stuff.  When I try to login to store it just doesn't open. and Apps and Updates is a grey screen with no response. Icloud just whirligigs out and doesn't open either,  when I try to log on. sort of annoying as I cannot get updates. I had this problem  before and sorted it by getting the serial number added because it was missing from an earlier repair. Please can anyone tell me what is happening,  I can go into my Apple  account and check details and stuff like that I just cannot access through itunes or app store on this computer.

    Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

  • App store won't accept correct password

Only one of my devices won't download apps. The password is correct. I can even go to safari on the phone and log in to my apple Id there. It doesn't say my password is incorrect. Ive tried using an incorrect pw and it informs me it is wrong.. I have signed in and out. Closed all my apps, reset multiple times. Plugged it into iTunes and checked the account was right. It just keeps bouncing me back to putting in the password.

I have the same problem. App store dont accept my correct password. I reset the password. Finish all application. I try new session in settings. Not works.
I update to IOS 8 and dont work too.
And now, some applications doesnt work and I cant to update or install news.
    Please, help me!!

  • Mac App Store won't accept my password

Ok, well I sent tech support an email about this yesterday and never heard back, so I guess I'll give this a go...
The main problem is I can't access my account in the Mac app store. Everytime I enter my password its says "unkown error occured".
I did change my password yesterday before this problem arose, I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not, but the new password works in iTunes...

Forgot to mention - iCloud login in System Preferences works fine with the new password, further confirmatin that the password has definitely been changed.

  • HT204266 App store won't accept my password. My wife has an iPad also and it keeps bringing up her email address. How can I cure this?

How can I remove my wife's email address and password from my app store account? I am trying to update apps and it won't let me use my info. My wife has an iPad and an account, some way the info got on mymipad.

You can log out out of the currently logged in account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and you can then log in with your account - but if any of your wife's apps are on your iPad then only her account will be able to download updates to those apps as they will be tied to her account.

  • ITunes Store won't work

    My iTunes store won't load.
    It used to load.
When my sister got her iPod a long time ago, she set up an account to buy music from the itunes store. It worked then.
I don't know what's happened since then, but we don't know the password, or account name.
But it doesn't matter, because when I try to log on with this account (which I made to post this) it gives me the same message as when I click on Genius or iTunes store...
    Message:
"_*iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store.*_
Make sure your connection is active then try again. "
I've looked at the troubleshooting options, and flushed my DNS. Deleted Norton completely, same with another antivirus, and windows firewall is disabled, and allows iTunes.
Can anyone give me any help? I have an acer computer running Windows Vista Home Premium. I've got the latest (9.0.1?) itunes, that I just downloaded. But even before that, I had between 7-8 and it would NOT work.

Problems connecting to the iTunes Store often stem from issues with the Windows firewall or a firewall in a router, a privacy filter (such as McAfee Internet Privacy Service or Norton Internet Security), an antivirus/antispyware utility, or a download accelerator. Start here:
iTunes for Windows: Overview of Music Store Errors
for some basic tips to start isolating the cause of the problem. What you need to do is temporarily disable any such service and see if that fixes the problem. If so, then if it's a firewall/Internet filter that's causing the problem and you'll need to set the offending service to allow iTunes to connect to the iTunes Store.
    Hope this helps.
