iTunes store won't let me log in. It continuouly asks me to type my password.

There are a lot of people with this issue currently. Let me guess, you updated to 11.0.3 correct?
Can you make sure cookies are blocked in Safari? Then sign out and sign back into iTS.

  • Itunes store won't let me connect

    For the past week the Itunes store won't let me connect. It says "itunes requires Safari 4.0.3 or later to be installed to use the itunes store within itunes...use software update"
    I checked my software update and it says I have the latest version of Safari (I download it last week as well).
    Any ideas? I purchase music from itunes almost weekly so this is a real pain right now.

    ok, i just got up the nerve to buy a $50 itunes card first time, now i feel like i was duped, it won't let me buy anything, i redeemed the points, look in the store and decided the first thing i wanted to get was the ipod touch upgrade, i click on it and it asks me for my apple id password, i enter it correctly click "Buy" and then asks me for the password again and this time instead of the button saying "buy" its says "billing info" now it now takes me to the page and all the info is right, im not using a card because i don't have one and i don't think i should need one because i have the itunes points which is clearly displayed beside my account name on the itunes program. now after i click done it just takes me back to the itunes store home page... so then i think maybe the update just isn't available at the moment, so then i look up the app "video safe" and try to buy it, same exactly thing happens, someone plzz help, im confused as to y i am not able to buy anything, i have the points, id like to use them

    apple should really make that clear, thats the reason i bought the points for in the first place, to get apps and the update. man this *****, ok so pretty much if i don't have a credit card then im screwed right? i can't get the update or get apps unless they are free? are there app cards or something i can buy in order to buy them? kuz i can't get a credit card and i want to get this stuff, and if im not mistaken isn't this bad? its stopping ppl from spending money on this stuff, its cutting profit, if you could use it for all of it then im sure ppl would buy them alot more, kuz its "re-donk-u-less" that they don't have an easier way to get the stuff like apps and upgrades unless you hav a credit card. idk man, is apple going to change that anytimes soon?

    hi, had same problem as you, was unable to connect to itunes store or sync ipod upto already downloaded songs, went to apple shop and was advised to disable security, i know, a silly thing to do, but when disabled ipod sync'd up and all songs transferd and access to itunes store given, reinabled security and old problem was back.

    I use iTunes 10.6.3 on my iMac and a more recent version on my laptop. I find that when I use the iTunes store on the desktop, I click on an album and it tells me:
    We could not complete your iTunes Store request.
    The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.
    The thing is, everything else on the iTunes store works perfectly. It just won't let me go to the page of any album. What's up with that? It works fine on my laptop. Why not on my desktop?

    I recently got an iTunes Music Card and to use it I have to have an account with iTunes Store. But it won't let me create an account. Everytime I try to make one the Windows Installer opens and tries to install Microsoft Small Business. So when I close that suddenly there is an error and iTunes has to close.     When i go onto the itunes store and find an application i want it won't let me download it! i click on the "get app" button and i can see the button being pushed down, but nothing happens! i have tried restarting my computer and downloading itunes again...but nothing works!

    You need to have an account set up with iTunes. Have you done that yet?
    If you have and are still having this problem, try going to (in iTunes) Store > Deactivate Account and deactivate your account. Then reactivate it and try your download again.

    I've done a complete format just recently. Installed iTunes 9.0.2. I'm currently on Windows 7 x64.
    When I goto the iTunes store, I see the front page just fine. But when I type into the "Search Store" like "Deadmau5", the status bar just says "Accessing iTunes Store" and stays like that forever. The status bar animates forever as well. When I click on some of the links in the front page, they navigate fine. The problem lies when I try to search the store. Then when I try to quit iTunes, it freezes and I have to end task manually.
    How do I fix this?

    I'm having this exact problem as well! I'm running the latest version of iTunes (9.0.3.15) on Windows 7 (32bit). The search function in iTunes only works for me about 50% of the time! The other 50% of the time it just freezes up and hangs with the message at the top "Accessing iTunes Store." I've tried letting this sit like this for 20-30 minutes and it just never recovers unless I kill iTunes in task manager. It is a bit annoying doing this several times a day and has prevented me from purchasing apps and music from iTunes where I otherwise would have done so; you would think apple would fix this as they are losing revenue! We're not the only ones having this issue; search google and you'll find that there are a plethora of others having the same issues.
    I love iTunes but I just wish this bug was fixed for Windows 7 users. Hoping it will be fixed in the next update!

    I am trying to buy Final Cut Pro X but every time I click on the Buy App button I get a pop-up saying that I need to contact Itunes Support, which is another story.
    I wan't to begin to play with the software today prior to training but it looks as though that won't be the case.  Does anyone have any thoughts on what the issue might be and how do I correct it?

    There is no way to telephone the Itunes Store.  You have to go by e-mail support.  It may be an account problem but they should tell me that.  I am waiting on a e-mail from them.

I am not able to access "Add to Wish List" from the drop down menu, nor will it let me access my own "Wish List" from the drop down under my account name. Ok, go to a song, right click the 'buy' button, and choose Wishlist from the dropdown menu...oops! That doesn't work either! Buying is, again, the only option.
    Someone clearly needs to get fired, since this article was updated only 2 days ago. How do you get THE ENTIRE article wrong? Come on, Apple, you can do better than that.

    I click the button to download this week's free Single of the Week and nothing happens. All I can get it to do is play a preview, but it won't let me download. What's going on?!

    Have you jailbroken either of these devices? Have you used the computer you are trying to update with to jailbreak a device? Have you tried using another computer to do the update? You may have to make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the device checked, or send the device off to Apple care.
