ITunes Stores from different countries

Is there any possible way I could buy something from a different iTunes store (different country) with an account registered for the U.S.?

I live in Italy. My banking is entirely in the US. Our iTunes store is US. We have been given 3 or 4 gift cards and we have a valid Italian address. On a different discussion string, someone said that:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
Well, we have all of b) but even creating a new account seems to require a credit card. Please help prevent me from bad mouthing the next person who gives me a iTunes card.

  • I need to consolidate two iTunes libraries from different countries.

I have been struggling for approximately 5 years now to resolve an issue which it seems is normal for those Apple users who move countries from time to time.  Specifically, I have ended up (inadvertantly in the first instance) with two distinct iTunes accounts -- one in Australia (which cannot be changed to UK as I don't have an Australian credit card and the balance at $1.04 is non-zero) -- and another in the UK (which I use all the time).
I have tried again and again to get this straightened out with Apple, with iTunes support, with Genius Bar people, store managers and on and on -- however, for some reason which is beyond my humble comprehension -- and despite being a significant (£30k) personal Apple customer over recent years -- I cannot get anything other than "passing the buck" between the Apple Store and Geniuses to iTunes Customer Support online -- who, frankly, have demonstrated a complete lack of ability to 1) understand the problem in the first instance without a lot of going backwards and forwards, 2) fail to provide any suitable or acceptible answers that would help -- instead repeating (as if in a different conversation) the same words again and again (via text emails -- which I'll happily share further with all who are interested); 3) fail to demonstrate any capability of elevating this so that the issue is solved once and for all.
I have a large library of music and music video's purchased in the UK and Australia (and some which was purchased in the USA when I was there -- thankfully without this particular set of problems).  The Australian account cannot be changed to UK as it has a non-zero balance of $1.04 -- and so I cannot hope to put a UK credit card on file in order to achieve my first goal of upgrading the music and music videos to non-DRM, high resolution, explicit etc. etc. and also sychronising with iMatch alongside my UK content.
Every single time I attempt to do something with iTunes or my MacBook Pro (either of them), my iPad, my iPhone 5, my AppleTV, my Mobileme account etc. etc. -- it does not work properly due to the "split nature" of the music catalogue -- and the different countries which each are registered to -- where-as I am based in the UK (although may move back to the USA in some time again).
I would appreciate a full refund of all of the content which was bought in Australia -- so that these purchases can be transferred or remade with my current account.  I also want to know how I am to manage this situation the next time I move country.  So far, it would be easier to steal the music via P2P than to continue paying over the odds for content which is not being "handed over" to me in a reasonable way.
I love my Apple experience so much other than this particular issue -- please can somebody help me fix this.  It is central to my whole experience of the vast investment I have made with joinging the "Apple Adventure"..

if you're on iTunes 9, the easiest way would be to drag & drop the contents of the (external ?) hard drive into the *automatically add to iTunes* folder inside the iTunes folder of the target machine.
you will have duplicates, which can be deleted later on (or kept and filtered using smart playlists).

  • Sharing & Managing iTunes libraries from different countries

    Hi Everyone,
I would like some help on sharing and managing content from different iTunes libraries from two difference countries please.
    I have:
1 x iPod and its library from the UK (and its UK Apple ID)
2 x iPhone 5's and their libraries from the US (and their US Apple ID's)
I appreciate there are restrictions due to each country's laws so what I want may not work, however, ideally I want it so I can have all three of our libraries in one iTunes library and then both my wife and I can choose which songs we want on our iPhones and iPods.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
Any help much appreciated - cheers!

What you said worked - cheers!
The only thing that didn't was transferring my UK music to USA iPhone. Unless you know otherwise, I assume because I paid for UK music in UK, trying to then play it on a USA iPhone won't work......or is there a workaround?
The fact I've paid for it legally in one country surely shouldn't be a problem playing it on a device?
Or should I create a brand new Apple ID and library - would that help?
    Your help is much appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Y2J,
The problem is much more likely to be the multiple Apple IDs than the multiple countries.  Do not start yet one more.
If all the music is in one library located on your computer, but certain songs won't sync, pls post details of the problem and maybe someone here can help troubleshoot.

  • HT5731 Purchase items on iTunes Store from multiple countries

    Hi
I am Japanese living in the UK. My iTunes ID is registered apparently only in the UK (as my credit card details are in the UK) and does not let me purchase from iTune Store Japan using my account.
Is there any way to get both countries' iTunes Stores work with one account/ID?
    Many thanks!

If you are in the UK, that is the only iTunes Store you are allowed to use, whether you use a single ID or multiple IDs. The terms of use for each iTunes Store disallow use of the Store from outside of its country.

  • Access to US-iTunes-Store from foreign countries?

Hi! I have a special amount of Dollars on my iTunes-Store-Account. Can I also buy music/videos/etc. when I log into the internet in a country outside the US? Or does the Store automatically detect that I am in a foreign country and doesn't allowed a purchase?
    Please answer ASAP.
    Thank you!!

Where you are does not matter.
    Where you are registerd does.
If you have registered and purchased from the US store, you can continue to purchase fromn the US stare, regardless of your physical location.

  • Best way to manage multiple iTunes accounts (from different countries)

Ok, wasn't sure if this was the best community to ask this question, but here goes.
My wife and I have two iTunes accounts, one originally from the United States, the other originally from Australia. Over the years content has been purchased using both accounts.
We currently reside in Australia and primarily view our content on Apple TV. So far we’ve had no problems logging into either account and accessing all our content.
Now, I have a fear (perhaps an irrational one) that if we choose to permanently reside in one country (Australia, the US, somewhere else) that at some point Apple may cancel/restrict one of these accounts. Since there is no way for me to merge all our purchased digital content into the one digital library, we’re now wondering the best way to manage this?
I see there is a new "family sharing" feature soon to be launched, so that may be half the solution (assuming it will work with family members in different continents). If so, the other half of the question is, will we be able to still purchase content on both accounts? While in Australia since April we have rented movies on both accounts, but have only purchased movies etc on the Australian account (we can still do this on the US account, but we haven't risked it in case it gets cancelled because Apple decides we're no longer in the US - in other words, we don't want to spend $$$ on movies we may not be able to access in future).
What do others think? What is the best way for us to manage our scenario? Or am I worried about nothing and we can continue purchasing content on either account without fear of “losing” it later?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I did try and ring Apple, but the guy refused to give me advice until I provided my details and I did't want to do that at this stage.
    Thanks everyone for your help!
    MM

You may lose the ability to purchase content from the USA, but any content you've already bought will remain accessible. Back everything up.

  • How do I access music from different countries? My account is in Australia

How do I access music from different countries? My account is in Australia and I want to purchase music in Franch

In order to buy from another country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
This, BTW, is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice.

  • Hi can someone tell me if it is possible to have two accounts (from different countries) in the same laptop?

Hi can someone tell me if it is possible to have two accounts (from different countries) in the same laptop?

    Hi...
The issue is that your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside to make purchases.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."
From here >  The Complete Guide to Using the iTunes Store | iLounge Article
Billing policy is the same for both the iTunes as well as Mac App Stores.

  • How can I rent a film in Itunes stores in other countries with my apple ID

    Hello,
I wanted to ask about how one could rent a film in Itunes store from countries outside of where my mac is installed using my apple ID?

Even having another residence in another country ( not living there ) won't help, isn't it ?
No, it won't. The terms of use for the iTunes Store state that you agree not to attempt to use the service from outside of its country.
And I suppose that there is not a "work around" for this problem ? And if there is, I suppose it can not be mentioned here.
There is no "workaround". The terms are clear on the matter.
But having these restrictions in a country obliges the users, like myself being pro-Apple, to think about doing illegal actions ...
I agree, but it's the content owners who make these decisions, not Apple. The subject has been covered here many times, so I won't get into it yet again, but the issue of rights ownership being fragmented among many different entities in different countries and the problems it presents in the age of digital distribution is a significant one, but no resolution in sight.

  • HT4480 itunes card from other countries.

I made my account in the U.S. so when ever I bought an itunes card, it would obviously say $15 or $25 or $50 and so on. In dollars. But now I'm in a different country. Mexico to be exact. I want to purchase itunes cards but their cards use Pesos instead of dollars. So here is my question: Can I use the itunes cards from other countries on my account even though they use Euros or Pesos and so on? Thanks to anybody that can answer this for me.

No, you can only redeem gift cards for an account that is of the same nationality as the GC you are redeeming.
If you want to redeem for Euros, this will not work in your US store, you'll need to make a whole new store account.

IPad 1 Safari crashes frequently. I went to many Apple stores in different countries and each Apple staff member had their own different opinions with no help. I had upgraded my iOS to 5.1.1 and the Safari crashing started about one year after the upgrade and some Apple staff blame this- but this started one year later after the iOS upgrade. Recently at the Apple Store in Vancouver an Apple staff reset my computer (erased everything and sent to iCloud to reset the iPad) and I hoped this would fix the problem. IPad Safari still crashes. Short of booking an appointment for taking it for repair to Apple technicians which will cost me money can anyone help me to fix this Safari crashing.

    Hi,
You might have a 3rd party plugin that isn't compatible with Safari 4.0.4. Go here for help...
Safari add-ons can cause performance issues or other situations
If you are using a USB hub, try disconnecting and restarting with just your keyboard and mouse connected.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Mac OS: Web Browser Quits Unexpectedly or Stops Responding
Also, you could download and install the 10.5.8 combo update (PowerPC) available here.
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate
It contains fixes that might help. Then repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt",
Well, it didn't all copy but if you search you will find it. It explains how to use command prompt to enter "netsh winsock reset".  I tried so many different things and this is the only thing that worked. Thanks to wiclee.

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store from any device

I can't seem to connect to iTunes store from my Macbook pro, iPhone or iPad. This problem just happened recently, no idea what's wrong.

    Hi tracyk223,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  It is puzzling that you cannot access the iTunes Store from three different devices.  Were you able to access other websites?  The first step would be to make sure your internet connection is working.
Another thing to try would be to follow the steps for the iPhone in the article below and see if you can make a cellular connection instead of using Wi-Fi.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201400
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update(iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
Hopefully, one of the troubleshooting steps outlined in the article will get you back on track...
    Happy Holidays!
