  • Purchases from multiple iTunes stores (different countries)

Do I have to have  a new/different accounts to bye from iTunes in the US? My account is Norwegian. I tired to by from the US store but it said that i only could by from the Norwegian store. When I tried to make another account for the US store it said that I already had an account and that I could use that account for purchase from the US store too... I AM CONFUSED!!!!
    Thanks for your help!

You can buy ONLY from the itunes store of your country of residence ( proven by the valid billing address on your credit card) AND ONLY while you are physically located inside the borders of that country.

  • Itunes Stores Between Countries

I live in Malaysia. iTunes knows my country and won't let me buy from US. The movie I want is in US only. I tried to create a new account - it puts me back in Malaysia again. What to do.

As Winston said, the iTunes Germany Store may only be used within Germany.  Here is the exact language from the Legal section:
"Der Dienst steht Ihnen nur in Deutschland zur Verfügung. Sie dürfen den Dienst nicht von außerhalb Deutschlands nutzen oder versuchen zu nutzen. iTunes kann mit Hilfe von technischen Mitteln die Einhaltung dieser Bestimmung überprüfen."
It has nothing to do with currency exchange.

  • How can I rent a film in Itunes stores in other countries with my apple ID

    Hello,
I wanted to ask about how one could rent a film in Itunes store from countries outside of where my mac is installed using my apple ID?

Even having another residence in another country ( not living there ) won't help, isn't it ?
No, it won't. The terms of use for the iTunes Store state that you agree not to attempt to use the service from outside of its country.
And I suppose that there is not a "work around" for this problem ? And if there is, I suppose it can not be mentioned here.
There is no "workaround". The terms are clear on the matter.
But having these restrictions in a country obliges the users, like myself being pro-Apple, to think about doing illegal actions ...
I agree, but it's the content owners who make these decisions, not Apple. The subject has been covered here many times, so I won't get into it yet again, but the issue of rights ownership being fragmented among many different entities in different countries and the problems it presents in the age of digital distribution is a significant one, but no resolution in sight.

  • I moved countries and my songs are gone from my Purchases. Is there a way to get them back without switching stores?

I recently moved from The United States of America to Germany. I received an iTunes gift card from a friend here so I changed my country to redeem the money on it. After I made a few song purchases, I remembered some albums I've bought songs from before were not complete and when I went to 'Complete My Album',  nothing was there. Usually there would be 'Born to Die' by Lana del Rey listed there or 'Twilight Theater' by Poets of the Fall but nothing was there except for the albums that included the two songs I bought. I was confused and checked my purchases.
Everything was gone except for the two songs I bought.
I have bought a lot from the iTunes store and I really want to find a way to get this music back. Why aren't songs I've purchases connected to the account anyway? This seems like a complete flaw in the system. I should have access to all the songs I have purchased in the past, regardless of which country they were purchased in because I still did spend my money on it. I have only ever used cards I have received as gifts or purchased myself.
So, is there any way to fix this and get all my songs to show up again? I can't switch back to the USA store because I bet I'll be missing the songs I've purchased in the Germany store, and I've got several euros waiting to be spent on this account.
If there is no way to do this, can I just switch back and forth between the country stores after I finish the money? Or are all my purchases literally cleared and gone for good?

They are linked to your account, but they are also tied to the country that they were bought in - you won't be able to potentially redownload them unless you move back to the US and have a US billing address on your account (you have to be in a country to use its store, including redownloading past purchases).
Have you not got a backup copy of all of your downloads/library that you can copy them back from ? Even if you hadn't moved countries any item could be removed from the store at any time by the rights-holders (you are only guaranteed one download of any item), you should be keeping and maintaining a backup copy.

  • Ivory Coast not in the iTunes Store's list of countries? Country on iTunes Store cannot be changed to Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire)

    Hi,
I would like to know if Apple is planning to add more African countries to its list of Itunes Store countries (and if so aproximately when).
    NYC or in London.
Here is my issue. I have moved from London to Abidjan (Ivory Coast) over a year ago and my foreign bank cards have recently expired which means any payments with these are now impossible. I will get my new cards during my next trip to the UK in 6 months.
I have been trying to make several purchases and most recently to upgrade from Mac OS 10.6.8 to OS X Mountain Lion but I can't because it is currently impossible to change the Itunes Store country to IVORY COAST/ Cote d'Ivoire (from the United Kingdom).
To top it off, although it is now possible to make iTunes payments trough www.clickandbuy.com (was excited and went through the process of setting up, verifying and prefunding a Clickandbuy account to make my OS X Mountain Lion payment) iTunes refuses a payment if the country of the credit/debit card registered with Clickandbuy (Ivory Coast) is different from that of the iTunes store country (United Kingdom).
This is a huge disappointment because I fail to understand why one would use Click and Buy or Paypal or ay other similar secured online payment service to make a payment in Itunes if one can use iTunes directly. What was the point of adding Click and Buy as a mean of payment in the first palce? and if they were able to verify my account, then why can't Apple do the same especially when I am an existing client?
Seriously this means Apple customers from certain African countries are being discriminated, if I was based in Cotonou or Accra, I would be allowed to change my store to Benin or Ghana and make payments with a local credit card. This is not fair.
Apple pls you have to do something about this Country issues in the iTunes Store!
    Thanks
    A disappointed Apple user

You can either spend it you can try contacting iTunes support and ask them if they can remove them balance from your account (you can't change countries when you have a balance) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Change countries on iTunes store

Hi, I moved to the US from Mexico and I want to change countries on my iphone so I can buy apps here. I do have a CC and a billing address. Is that possible?

App Store Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2001 when using iTunes --> "To change countries, scroll to the end of the iTunes Store home page and click the flag indicating the current country. To choose a different country, click the appropriate flag."
iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store account - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311  - Change your iTunes Store country: "Sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you'd like to use. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region."
You will, of course, need to change your address and enter valid credit card information after you have changed the settings.

  • I moved countries - now Itunes doesn't recognize my prior content/library

I recently moved from Canada to the U.S.  When I changed my account address over, my phone stopped recognizing any of my prior content that used to show.  Things like all the videos I have on iTunes on my computer don't appear as cloud options on my phone anymore.
Also, and I am not sure if this is related, but I cannot sync with the Disney Movies Anywhere App.

Correct.  Each country has its own iTunes Store as material is licensed for use by country.  When you move countries it is critical you ensure you have backup copies of any purchases you have made since you no longer have access to purchases made in Canada.  As long as you have them in-hand you can use them, but you cannot use the iTunes Store in another country E.g., "The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions. You agree not to use or attempt to use the iTunes Service from outside these locations. Apple may use technologies to verify your compliance." - http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html#SERVICE  (reads the same for pretty much any country)
I have no idea about the Disney Movies App.  They may have similar restrictions about out-of-country use but you will have to check with them.

  • I gifted a ringtone to my sister that I purchased from the iTunes store, and it is on her phone, but we can't figure out how to get it moved to her ringtones.  Can anyone help?

I gifted a ringtone to my sister that I purchased from the iTunes store, and it is on her phone, but we can't figure out how to get it moved to her ringtones.  Can anyone help?

Edit > Preferences.  Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.
Not sure that really answers your question though.

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

I am receiving the error code (-50) when trying to access the itunes store. The original itune songs etc were installed on a win 7 32 bit system and I have now moved to a win 7 64 bit system (same PC) and have copied the folder across. Has the switch from 32 to 64 bit caused the problem? Is this why I get the error code? I can, however, access the itunes store to view my account. Any ideas please?
