ITunes successfully installed but won't start in Windows XP

My iTunes installation was successful but when I start iTunes, I get the message:
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell Microsoft about this problem." Option to send or not send error report.
The error report gives an error signature of:
"AppName:itunes.exe AppVer:7.3.0.54 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 100001040"
I can't move forward with my new iPod nano since iTunes will not run.
Please help!

  • ITunes successfully installed, but cannot locate iTunes anywhere.

Please help. Tried uninstalling and re-installing all Apple-related applications several times. Also deleted all folders prior to reinstalling. After running iTunesSetup, it says iTunes is successfully installed, but there is no tick box to open iTunes after installation. Also, there are no error messages and I can't locate iTunes anywhere. Looked at other discussions, but they don't seem to apply. Hope someone can help. Thanks!

  • Itunes 7 installed, but won't open

Hi! I had an older version of itunes (not 6.5, prior to that) and I decided to upgrade to itunes 7. I downloaded it and all was fine, I did not get any error message and it said the installation was successfully completed. However, now my itunes will not open at all. Again, there is no error message, but when I double click it the little hour glass comes up for a moment, then goes away and nothing happens.
I had this same problem some time ago when I tried upgrading to itunes 6.5. Both now and back then I tried all of the suggestions on the website to no avail. Eventually I just uninstalled 6.5 and downloaded my previous version and everthing was fine.
Again this time I have tried every possible solution to get itunes to work, but nothing has helped. Is there anything you can suggest? If nothing else I would like to go back to using itunes 5 or some older version, however now I cannot find those avalible for download on the itunes site. If nothing else could you please direct me to a site that has the version of itunes PRIOR to 6.5 avalible to download for Windows? Thank you.

    Hello,
I had the same problem and I deleted everything expect the itune music folder in the document folder then I installed the "install CD" that came with ipod (my version is itunes 4 with the install CD. I got everything working again exect for one problem. I can't play any of my purchased songs. It says that my computer needs to authorization, but the thing is my computer is and it won't let me authorization. when I get to the itunes store it wants me to upgrade to itunes 7.
I hope this helps you a little.
    Good Luck,

  • Flash Builder 4 Installed, But Won't Start

I installed Flash Builder 4. The installation completed without a hitch, but the application won't start. Here are the log files from \Local Settings\Temp and Adobe Flash Builder 4\.metadata.

Any idea regarding what I am doing wrong? I have Eclipse on my comp, but I have installed the standalone version of FB 4 trial.

    > Even if the trial has expired shouldn't the screen with buy now appear?
Yes, that's what I would expect too. Sometimes there are situations where previously installed Prerelease versions (beta versions from Adobe Labs) can interfere with that though, especially with multiple users on a given machine in a Lab setting.
    > I can requisition a full license from the sysadmin.
Good idea - that's probably your best shot at getting FB4 activated on that machine, without needing to re-image it. After you obtain an FB4 serial number, you should be able to enter it at install-time to activate the license.

  • I have an iPod Touch and got a new computer; iTunes is installed, but won't sync with my iPod properly.

I am running the new computer under Windows 7, and have tried to sync my iPod.  It uploaded the photos and videos from the iPod, but won't upload the apps or music.  The iPod is also not downloading the new music on the iTunes.  How can I sync what I have on the iPod to the computer, without losing the settings, apps and music already there?

  • ITunes is installed but won't open

I just installed iTunes 6.0 and after restarting my computer I tried to open iTunes and a window poped up and immediatly closed. It looks like it has an 'Accept' or 'Decline' option but it closes before I can do anything. I tried re-installing, un-installing and re-installing older versions but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any tips?

    hi serenitysweet!
like Katrina, i am also incredibly tired of *** messages. it's probably a contributing factor to me not being able to bear spending much time in this forum over the past few days.
when i click to open it, not only will it not open, but with windows task manager, it will not remove itself from the processes list when i click "end process" or "end process tree"
if itunes.exe is persisting in Task Manager, the first two possibilities you should check up on are:

    hiya!
just popping by to drop off a link to a QT standalone installer:
    Quicktime 7.0.4 Standalone Installer
(the link to a true standalone QT on the QT Player download page can be a bit difficult to find. the most obvious download link on there leads to an itunes/QT installer bundle.)

  • Adobe Suite CS4 - Installed but Won't Start Up?!

    Hello,
I had the Adobe CS4 suite, design standard, which I have installed on two computers, one the first computer there are no issues, but on the second computer the Terms and Condition dialogue box appears when i try to load any of the programs, I click "Agree" and nothing happens.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.
I've checked that the programs are not registered on another computer (as it was my friends copy before me), so I have no clue why I can't get it to work on the second computer.
    Any thoughts?
    Amy

Does your computer have the capability of displaying a higher resolution?  According to the system requirements for Design Standard CS4 we require a minimum of 1024 x 768 and a recommended resolution of 1280 x 800.

  • Purchased games and trying to install but won't start installing or nothing.

Hi I have just purchased call of duty and GTA4 for the game to play on my mac book pro.
I went to download it from the App store and it did start downloading located down in the dock however, once the internet conncetion has been interrupted the icon of the 2 games which were saying it was downloading have gone somewhere and the icon has just disappeared. I went back to teh App store and clicked on the part where it says purchases. I found the 2 games I was trying to install. On the right hand side on the games, it says INSTALL.
I clicked it. ok what now? nothing happens. It doesnt even say resume downloading or anything. It just say install.
Click click. Nothing happens. Hwo can I resume the downloads again?

    Hi..
Launch the App Store. From the App Store menu bar top of your screen click Store > Check for Unfinished downloads.
If that doesn't help, try here >  Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads
If that doesn't help try this...
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

  • ITunes 12.1.1 won't start on Windows 7

I've just installed iTunes 12.1.1.4 64-bit on on Windows 7. The installation did not report any errors.
Prior to my installation, the previous version (not sure of the version #) worked fine.
But now iTunes won't launch. When I double click the icon, it literally does nothing - no error message, dialog box or anything.
I've tried uninstalling (using a clean uninstall as described in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates)
    but nothing works.
As of right now, I have no way of running or using iTunes. Please help.

If you're running a 64-bit edition of Win7, did you try installing the alternate iTunes 12.1.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards), as referenced within turingtest2's user tip?  Although this is primarily intended to address playback issues, QuickTime and Outlook integration conflicts, and problems with other third-party applications, it also seems to solve some other compatibility issues with the "full" 64-bit version if iTunes.

  • Had iTunes successfully installed on my computer (Windows XP). I can't access it now.

Had iTunes successfully installed on my computer (Windows XP) for some time. I can't access it now.
I keep getting the message -
C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\CommonFiles\Apple\AppleApplicationSupport\icudt46.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or contains an error.

    HELP!

C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\CommonFiles\Apple\AppleApplicationSupport\icudt46.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or contains an error.
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)
