ITunes suddenly refuses to open

I'm looking for some help with my iTunes. I have windows 7 and have been running iTunes on it for months now. Just today I attempted to open iTunes and a few messages came up saying that I'm missing CoreVideo.dll, CoreAudioToolbox.dll, that there are problems with QuickTime, and that I need access to some key thing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but I keep getting error messages about some key. I'm boiling in frustration and just want my iTunes to work again. If anyone can offer some help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Does it delete the old Preferences (plist) file?
If you reinstall an app on a Mac to try to fix it, if the Prefs are wonky and you don't delete them too, nothing will improve...
Many times all you need to do is delete the Prefs file (the app will automagically create a new one] and the problem is fixed!

Adobe Reader XI suddenly refuses to open PDFs.

Adobe Reader XI in my wife's pc suddenly refuses to open PDFfiles. A message pops up saying: EULA display has stopped to function. I have reinstalled Reader XI several times. I had the same problem just now and what worked for me was i archived a email in MS outlook using the Adopbe PDF dropdown menu and then I had full access to X Pro again.

Elements 12 suddenly refuses to open. I use daily. What do I do?

I use Photoshop Elements 12 daily. It seems there IS NO tech support at Adobe itself! It suddenly refuses to open at all and sends a report to Apple. What do I do? Can't continue to operate my web magazine without it! (Yosemite 10.10.1, 21.5" iMac)

ITunes suddenly refusing connection to Apple TV

Hi,
Problem: iTunes suddenly refusing connection to Apple TV!
I noticed that the above was occuring and checked out iTunes to be dismayed not to see my normal Apple TV in the iTunes devices list.

Which appear not to have been answered - yet has "Helpful" answers available: 2 . "Solved" answers available: 1 . (whatever that means??)
The only change I've made recently is not renewing mobileme services. My mobileme user id was also my Apple ID (which should not have expired with the mobileme account). To protect the Apple ID I changed the associated email address to an non mobileme one. As an extra precaution updated my iTunes to the new account email address and verified itunes computer authorisation as well.
At the same time thinking that the Apple TV might need to have its iTunes connection refreshed I removed (as it was not working anymore anyone) the original iTunes setting and set to reconnecting using: settings>Computers>Connect to iTunes
On the Apple TV the usual dialogue appears with the expected 5 digit passcode. I then expected iTunes to pick this up which did not occur in a normal fashion. What did come up was an inane dialogue box with the following comments (the same as I had been getting before all this nonsense started):

To access this site, you need to log in to area "daap" on 0.0.0.0
Your login information will be sent securely
Name:
Password:'
etc
Obviously I've tried my updated Apple ID / registered email - but they don't work for the login and there appears to be no other explanation for this (obviously I've noted Apple's implementation of DAAP, however I still can't find a solution - hence this post)
I would really appreciate a solution to this as I am now unable to use my Apple TV whatsoever

Hi,
I am having the same problem, getting the following message when launching iTunes "To access this site, you need to log in to area "daap" on 0.0.0.0." I just recently update my OS to 10.5.6, but when I launch iTunes (8.02) and try to synch either my iPhone 3g, Apple TV or the wife's Ipod touch, none of which appear.
Is this a know problem?

My Itune's refuses to open, what can I do to fix this problem?

I've had my iPod mini for almost a year now, and just yesterday my friend had bought me a new iPod. So I plugged it in and it said I needed a higher version of Itunes so, so I went and downloaded that from the site. But after Itunes worked for 15 minutes I had to shut the computer off, and when I came back on Itunes refused to open. Instead I got one of those error messages and it said "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." But my question was how can iTunes be forced to close if it hasn't even opened? I've tried repairing it several times and have failed. I've also deleted and reinstalled it and have failed. I tried reinstalling it again by using the disk that came with the iPod, and failed. Lastly I did that edwo malware remover scan, but still my Itunes is not opening. How can I fix this problem? Please help.

Try to go through the set up once again.
If that doesnt work, check your virus protection and under internet apps or some such thing, make sure itunes is not blocked from the internet.
Most cases it's not the internet that's the issue it's the program itself, but if this is bugging you, I suggest you at least make sure.

My Talk Talk mail box suddenly refuses to open.

I have a Tiscali/talk talk provider.
Suddenly and for no apparent reason the system refuses to open my mail box, it says I have 'undefined' mail (instead of 6 or 17 or whatever)/
I have spoken to Talk Talk who say most of their customers using your Mozilla Firefox are experiencing this problem, which is being addressed and technicians are working on the problem.
They have checked out for other contributing factors and apparently there are non.
So what is causing the problem? Why? And when can I expect to access my emails there. The matter is now getting urgent.

ITunes suddenly won't open on Windows 8

Hi, I've been running iTunes 10.7 on Windows 8 just fine for the past couple months... never had any problems with it at all, until today. Suddenly it won't open. The process shows up in my task manager, but the program will never actually open.
I tried everything- uninstalled QuickTime and iTunes, downloaded and installed the newest version of iTunes 11, tried it in both Windows 7 and Windows XP compatibility mode, ran as administrator, and everything else I could rustle up on the internet. Still does the exact same thing.
Has anyone else had this problem? It's been very frustrating today and any help I can get would be very appreciated. Thanks!

This worked for me although i'm not sure if it will work for you. Go to task manager (right click on the taskbar then click "Task Manager") and find all processes related to iTunes or just Apple software in general. Hit "End Task" to each of them then open them up again using whatever shortcuts you have set up. If this doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you.

ITunes suddenly won't open, it's not supported by my kind of mac?

All of a sudden itunes won't open, claiming it wouldn't be supported by my kind of mac. As it has been running on this very mac for a good 6 years I find this statement off centre.
I repaired my HD and tried to download iTunes agian, but it didn't work, I can only ever download parts of the dmg file.
If anyone had the same problem and knows how to solve it, please let me know. I am quite annoyed.

Itunes suddenly wil not open

Itunes will not open on my pc. It gives the error message that it encountered a problem and needs to close. It then tell me to send an error repot to microsoft.
Things I have tried:
Downloaded itunes to repair problems.
Deleted itunes.
Downloaded itunes again.
Downloaded quick time to repair any problems.
Updated windows XP.
Downloaded itunes again to repair problems.
Now I am just flustrated.
Please help I am going on a week with out podcasts.

Adobe photoshop elements suddenly refused to open (launch)

I had purchased Photoshop Elements 12 Editor for my mac laptop perhaps 1 or 2 months ago. It worked fine until last night. It suddenly keep saying "your application quit unexpectedly, do you want to re-open?" Either reopening or saying cancel and just open the application, both show the same result. It would repeatedly say "your application quit unexpectedly, do you want to re-open". I cannot photoshop to open at all. I deleted the app and downloaded new one again. It's still not working. I am really puzzled at why it suddenly quit working. Any help to get it up and running would be really great as I really need to use it for my son's school's event. Thanks

Reinstalling is not the way to fix these things, usually. First go to your user library and delete:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Settings
com.adobe.Elements Organizer.12.0.plist
com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer12.plist
and any lockfiles with the same names, then go to Saved Application States (at the same level as preferences) and delete any for PSE, then repair permissions and launch PSE again.
To see the User library, click the Go menu in the Finder and hold down the Option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account.

Itunes suddenly freezing when opened!!

Bizzare, recent, and annoying. When i start iTunes, the window opens, but as soon as it tries to "determine gapless song playback" for the remaining 200 or so songs (it successfully did the other 1000) it locks up (freezes) and the spinning beach ball of death appears. the only way out is with a force quit which is also very laggy. I managed to use my tiger reflexes and hit the little 'x' stop button in time, at which point iTunes seeme dto be working normally again...but a minute or so after the beach ball re-appeared this time and once again the whole thing freezes.
Apple: this is very very frustrating as iTunes is my main Audio-CD burning, music downloading and music listening app. Please don't do this the microsoft way and get us stuck with your propriety programs, which, up to now, worked fine, but as soon as they develop a fault leave our apples app-less! thank you.

How do I open a PDF file (created in Illustrator) that suddenly refuses to open in Illustrator?

Hello everyone. I'm having a strange issue that seems to have happened out of nowhere. I use a variety of Adobe Products for work and have been using Illustrator for a few basic brochures (I know InDesign is probably recommended more for brochures, but I just prefer Illustrator).
I actually design them in two files with a "front" and "back." I then merge the PDFs together into one file and send them to the printing company.
Recently, I've been working on one of these brochures. One morning I came into work and attempted to open the "inside" file for the brochure. Unfortunately, I receive an error message that says "Could not open the file." The file was saved as a PDF with Illustrator editing capabilities. I've been working on it for weeks and it only now stopped working. It does open in Adobe Reader as a standard PDF. Just doesn't make any sense to me. The "front" of the brochure opens normally in both Illustrator or Adobe Reader.
On a related (or unrelated?) note, I'm also getting far more crashes lately.
Any thoughts as to what could be going wrong? I've updated all my drivers, Illustrator, my GPU, windows updates, etc...

One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).

Failing a full recovery, hopefully you have one or more earlier versions and/or bits of artwork saved before it happened.

ITunes 11 refuses to open. Crashes instantly. My new iPod is almost useless with this!

Anyone else having this issue and found a way around it? I'm getting so frustrated with this, especially with having bought a brand new iPod nano. I have no other medium of transferring music to it!
Ideally I need to downgrade itunes from 11 as it's been nothing but trouble since I updated.
I'm on Lion OS, not sure which version, it's not letting me load up 'about this mac' either.

When I click on itunes, a message appears saying : The file 'iTunes Library.itl' cannot be read beacuse it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it? I've read other posts but I haven't come across anoyone with the same problem. Pleeeaasssee reply, I really need iTunes to work so I can use my new ipod!

The file 'iTunes Library.itl' cannot be read beacuse it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
(furrowed brow) people usually get that message if they've "rolled back" from certain higher versions of itunes to certain lower versions of itunes.
what version of itunes do you currently have installed? (you can find out if necessary by heading into the "itunes" folder inside your "program files" folder, right-clicking on the "itunes" icon and selecting "Properties", and clicking on the "version" tab.)
if you did roll back, what version did you roll back from?
did you have a problem with that version? if so, could you describe it for us?
