Itunes Switching

i had my iphone on a previous laptop, and now that i have my own laptop i want to use this itunes.
i had no issues using the old computer untill my brothers messed it up and now my itunes wont load up, and then it got uninstalled, and now i cant add music or put on homesharring . and on my new pc i dont want to lose all my music on my iphone and apps because i have a lot. is there anyway to keep my music ? like would backing up the iphone help? i need help please D:

Do the stuff they say to do.
If you have music from the iTMS on your PC be sure to deauthorize the PC (from within iTunes Windows) before you try to play that music on the new Mac. It will save you grief later.
On Windows:
Pathname:
My Documents\My Music\iTunes
Find the files:
iTunes library.xml
iTunes 4 music library.itl
Be sure a copy of both is in your iTunes folder you transfer, or just copy them to the Mac if you've already copied the music over.
On the Mac, go to:
iTunes: File: Import
... and browse to the file you copied from Windows:
iTunes Music Library.xml
If the extension is different (ie .txt; sometimes it changes when transferring across platforms) just edit it to .xml before you try importing.
The .xml file should import fine; it's the same format and is named exactly the same way on both platforms (don't ask me why I have two different names in my example above; I found conflicting information; but it doesn't really matter. Use whatever you find there as is). That's where you library data (playlists, ratings, etc) resides."

OK, let us know if that takes care of the problem. Also if you are in the habit of turning off your compute when you're done with it for the day please read your owner's manual again. It isn't necessary to turn it off, on page 15 of the current models it says;

I (and many others) are in the habit of leaving their machines on 24/7. I let mine sleep when not being used, it been doing this for about 4 years and has been 100% reliable. Just a thought!

Itunes switches from Now Playing to the Itunes Store when I jog

While I am jogging holding my iphone in my hand, every minute or so the screen switches to the iTunes Store instead of the Now Playing screen. I am positive I am not hitting any buttons. It seems to only do this when I am running so I believe the motion has something to do with it.
Any advice on what may be causing this?

Well this was my first time using the support communities app on the web so when I tried to get the answer there were literally 1000's of post and I was not sure which one pertained to me and my iPhone issue. Sorry if I offended in some manner, didn't mean to.

Inadvertent iTunes switch to Arabic language

I am using ITunes on Windows. I must have done something because suddenly the language is Arabic. I want to change back to English but can't because I can't read the Arabic.

without ME (Middle East) edition AI is not very compatible in Arabic, but there is some clues around it.

Photoshop > Preferences > Type > Select: Middle Eastern and South Asian
Type Tool > Character
     Language : Arabic
     Digits : Arabic (1,2,3..)
Type Tool > Paragraph
     Switch to : Right-to-Left Paragraph Direction
     UnCheck : Hyphenate
Fonts used: Adobe Arabic
Save you text file as PSD, and place in your AI/PDF file,
any updates in PSD will be changed in AI/PDF,
Printed Proof, perfect !

Switching from pc to a MAC!! What should I know about iTunes switching??

Well I am finally getting a Macbook Pro. What I need to know is: I have an iPhone and use my pc for syncing. I am getting rid of my pc and getting a macbook. The macbook will be my main iTunes server. Should I save any iTunes files from my pc before I make the switch? Or will I just install iTunes on the mac and sync?

down at the bottom of the front page of your music store is a little "Change Country" thingy.
is it currently saying "Deutschland"? if so, click on that and select the United States. do the Music Store things show in English again for you?

Itunes switched to Japanese!!!

I opened up itunes on my computer and it has changed to another language (asian) and i cannot change it back to english.I went to "edit" and then "preferences" and tried to select english but when i hit "ok" it was still in asian. This is so frustrating because i cannot understand a thing i'm doing. Pleae help!!! I have been using itunes for the last 4 months and this is the first time it has done this. Noone has access to my computer so it has done it by itself somehow! ????

Have you tried going to the bottom of the page and switching the stores from the pull down?

My last computer was stolen, is there anyway I can transfer my itunes library from my IPod touch to my new Sony Vaio without losing anything, or do I have to completely start over?

You should be able to recover the media with the tips in this post from forum regular Zevoneer. You can probably transfer your purchases into a newly authorised library, backup the device, recover any other media using third party tools, then restore the device from the backup. That should switch the assocation of the device to the new machine without losing any of your settings but I've not had reason to test it personally.

ITunes switches to avg volume when switching speakers

Anyone find it absurd that the volume is reverted to 70% or so after switching from an AirPort Express to Computer?
Suppose you put in your headphones, turn the volume down and switch to Computer. What's more stupid than to assume that the user wants 70% volume after that?

Just to add... I have iTunes configured to open on Space 2 for default. I just removed this configuration and it stopped doing it. Then I configured it again and it's doing it again.
Don't really know what changed from yesterday, all I can think of is the iTunes update I did.
Going to remove the configuration until I get and update that may address this issue.

ITunes switches playlist items by itself

My 2009 21.5 iMac running OS 10.8.4 often switches playlist items (radio stations) by itself. It is also not sleeping properly, and often wakes itself up. Has anyone else been able to resolve similar problems?

I understand you are having some issues with iTunes on your Mac. You may want to isolate the issue further by starting iTunes in safe mode:

The external hard drive with my iTunes library on it died, but I have it backed up on another drive. What's the best way to make iTunes switch to the new drive for reference?

I've been through similar problems before and used the .xml file to restore the library, but is a better way of just changing the drive pathways in iTunes so it doesn't have to rebuild everything from scratch? I'm using a PC with Windows Vista.

Change the drive letter of the backup drive so it matches the one that died. If necessary move/rename the backup folder so that it matches the old path of the media folder.

Itunes + Switching Library from PC to MAC

I've been reading the FAQ's on iTunes, and I've notived it only has guides that shows how to transfer your music from PC to another PC or Mac to Another Mac.
I'm buying a MacBook Pro this week, and I want to keep all my music, is this going to be possible? If so, can anyone point out a guide in which I can do this?

How to browse my playlists without itunes switching to them automatically?

I remember in an older version of itunes I could be playing an album from eith the "music" tab or from one of my smart playlists on shuffle, and then while the album was playing I could browse my other playlists, or if I was playing from a playlist I could browse my music. Now though, after I updated to the newest itunes, it will automatically shuffle from whatever I am browsing currently, even if I was playing from a playlist originally.
I understand that a way around this is to just drag the album into the top bar to make a playlist, so that those songs will go before whatever I am browsing, but this does not help when I want to shuffle from a playlist while looking through my collection.

Enable the sidebar with CTRL+S.
Locate a playlist.
Click the shuffle playlist tool at the top.
Browse around your library.

PC-to-Mac: iTunes Switch

Hey,
I'm getting a MBP 17 in the next few weeks and I would like to now the best program I can use to get my iTunes Library in Mac looking exactly like in Windows. I have a lot of songs, (all organized with Lyrics, Artwork, etc so I need all the metadata transferred), movies and photos. Oh yea and Podcasts aswell. I'd prefer a free program but with my high demands I'm guessing I'll have to lirchase software and I'm fine with that
