Itunes symbol and cord on screen
I just downloaded the latest version of ios7 and now I have a black screen, itunes symbol and cord on the screen and I can't get it to go away. I plugged it into my computer but my computer doesn't find my ipad.
You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.

Try the remaining items of:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The screen on my ipod touch is frozen with the iTunes symbol and the connection cord. I don't know how to get past this. Has been like this for over a week. Need help PLEASE.

What happens when you connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I thought I was updating my IPad, i selected update and came back home to the screen frozen with the Itunes symbol and a plug in cord displayed. I can not get it to do anything. Any suggestions?
Your iPad has gone into recovery mode and it needs to be restored now. The instructions are in this kb article.

Plug it into iTunes. If that does not work hold the power and home button untill the screen turns off then let go of the power button but KEEP holding the home button... this should bypass the connect to iTunes screen. Hope it helps.

iphone 4 not recognised by laptop after upgrading Itunes, the itunes symbol and a usb cord has appeared on my Iphone 4 screen. Frustrated isn't the word.
After installing latest version of Itunes, I connected my Iphone via USB and selcted yes to upgrade my Iphone, towards the end of the upgrade a notification popped up indicating that the upgrade had failed. Since then my Iphone just isn't responding, I've tried reinstalling Itunes, turning off Norton Security.

I've been through all those and apart from anything else, itunes is not seeing my phone, I therefore cannot restore the phone.
Have tried deleting and reinstalling itunes in case something was missing there, though the fact the problem is on both my mac and my windows machine seems to me to suggest a phone problem..
Is it possible that the latest IOS update which I did a week or so ago was not completed correctly? If so could this cause the problem? And how can I correct it?

Itunes symbol and USB cord picture on screen
I was trying to update to the latest, 8.1.3 I believe, and my phone turned itself off and when I turned it back on, all I can get is the iTunes symbol and a picture of a USB plug. I have turned the phone off and on several times and tried to reset. ITunes prompts gave the options to reset to factory settings or update. I tried both at different times and still can not get anything except the two symbols. Please help.
So, perhaps you should do what the iPhone is instructing you to do? Connect it to iTunes?

Seems like they already connected to iTunes. If iTunes will not restore the device as new place your phone in DFU mode (do a web search) and then restore with iTunes. You will lose everything on the phone, well actually you already have lost everything. You can download apps, music and videos that you have purchased when your device is working.
If DFU mode fails that take the device to an Apple store to have it evaluated. -
Since updating my Apple TV, all that will show up is the iTunes symbol and a cord. What do I do next?
When I updated via iTunes, it told me to reconnect to my TV, and I got that screen. I gave it a few minutes, and did a force reset (down+menu on remote). Activation took a long time for me, but it eventually came back up.

I tried to restore my iPhone 4s through iTunes and received error message that Restore could not be completed due to error 2003. Phone now not recognized in iTunes, with repeated prompts to restore phone. Now phone w/screen with iTunes symbol and USB cord can't use. I disabled my anti-software, iTunes and computer software (microsoft vista) are both up to date, I restarted the computer several times. My usb ports are working properly. I followed the troubleshooting suggestions from apple.yes did you buy it of somebody or a well known company such as apple or carphone warehouse?
and i mean the phone would have been activated in the first place with the sim card you get given when you first get the phone.

i was updating my iphone 3gs software on my pc and it came up with an error and since then i have just had the itunes symbol and a usb cable on my screen. i cant do anything with it what can i do?
The only thing you can do is what the picture is telling you to do: plug it into iTunes and restore it.

I clicked the button in my setting thatz is saying "software update iOS 6.1.2. It turned off and now My iPad 2 is stuck on a black screen that has the iTunes symbol and a charger that I'm guessing means "plug into iTunes". Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)
