ITunes synch with iPod and iPad

Anybody knows why an album with songs of different interprets which is marked as compilation in iTunes appear on the iPd correctly as one single album, but as individual songs on the iPad? Synched with same iTunes...?

the spcs page on this site state which video formats the ipad supports
I'd suggest converting your old videos to one of those formats
handbrake is a free program which does this for you
itunes used to be able to too when I right clicked incompatible media but don't see the option any more
or maybe it only show when one right click incompatible media and currently my lib don't have any
about the music then it's odd what formats are they?
if they are acc protected have you tried to remove the DRM this can be don using itunes as
apple don't use DRM for music any more

The apps I currently have are for the i phone and i pad but i would like to see this on this computer
On the Mac Air launch iTunes. Then connect either the iPad or iPhone.
Select the iPad or iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window in the source list.
Then select Apps from the menu on the right.
If you don't see the apps listed there, from your iTunes menu bar (top of your screen), click Store > Authorize This Computer.
See if that makes a difference...

  • Synching with Ipod and Iphone on same account?

I own both an Iphone and an Ipod. Can I connect both to Itunes under my account? Will connecting one affect the other when it is connected?

Hello, I have both an iPhone and an iPod. I wiped out my iTunes library, I believe when I synced my iPhone as I had downloaded new apps for the iPhone. How can I avoid doing this again? I would think that since the device connected to my pc is distinguished for such, the iPhone or iPod, this shouldn't have been a problem. Your advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Word, Excel & powerpoint How to upload to iCloud so it can synch with iPhone and iPad?

Need help on this How do i upload my word document or excel spreadsheet and powerpoint slides from my mac air to icloud?  Do i hvae to buy keynote, pages etc to be able to do this?

    hhhmmm,,
Its been about 5 months since you posted this question - but I figure nobody has answered you.
not sure if you still are looking for the answer, but you can just upload them when you login to iCloud.com
They will appear on your ipad - Powerpoint is presentation software, so you will need to upload under the keynote section.
    Have Fun:-)

  • HT202778 My iPod and iPad will not sync with iTunes

Help! What has changed that all of a sudden, (within the past 3 days) I no longer can sync my iPod and iPad with iTunes on my Mac. What has changed? Everything is up-to-date on all of my machines/devices/software

I had difficulties syncing my iPad Air last week that I have since resolved by changing back a few of my settings to what I had been using in the past. I have now synced my iPhone 5S multiple times (via USB cable) to the latest iTunes version on my Mac Pro with no issues.   In my situation, I don't know if the problems I had originally experienced in syncing the iPad Air was partly because I was making an initial attempt at syncing with a new Mac Pro and a copy of iTunes (whereby the iTunes sync options defaulted to Apple's original settings) or if it was because my previous settings were just overridden.  In either case, my issues were resolved as follows:
         1) on the MacPro, I left iTunes Match "on" and selected "Sync only checked songs and videos" within the iTunes Summary Options section.  For my music sync settings, I selected  "Sync Music" & "Entire music library", and
         2) for the iPad Air and iPhone 5S, I turned iTunes Match off as well as the Show All Music and Genius options (i.e., Settings, Music, "Show All Music", "Genius", and "iTunes Match" are all disabled [off]----I always adjust my playlist on the Mac Pro anyway, so I only care about the iTunes Match feature when updating iTunes on the Mac (as a backup measure in addition to the Time Capsule) and I prefer to access music that is directly stored on the iPad & iPhone rather than use the iCloud. Last week, when I initially did the sync with the iPad Air and had to reset, erase all content, and restore the device, Apple defaulted a few of these settings to on.  I did not experience any troubles with my iPhone 5S sync with the new Mac Pro as I was more careful to make certain that these settings were deactivated (because I did not run into further difficulties, I also did not have to reset, erase, & restore my iPhone as was the case with the iPad).  I can't say what combination of the "Show All Music", "Genius", and "iTunes Match" settings are a contributing factor to any sync issues, but I recalled having them all off on the iPads and iPhones when successfully syncing over the past several years.  So when it worked the first time a few days ago with the iPhone 5S sync, I didn't go looking for trouble to further isolate the cause (of my previous iPad Air difficulties last week) by setting the "Show All Music" and/or "Genius" options to on (i.e., I just made sure they were all off and was happy to see the iPhone 5S sync successfully).  There are multiple iTunes sync options, so I realize there are other settings that may work fine for many, but I have had relatively few issues in the past when syncing as described.
I have continued to edit playlists/add songs and have synced successfully several times.  After having had quite a few sync issues with the iPad Air last week, I am going to be more careful to examine the iTunes sync options on both the Mac Pro and iPhone 5s & iPad Air (to make certain that they have not changed) when I update any IOS software on either device in the future.

  • We have iphones, ipads and ipods attached to one itunes account. Is it possible to prevent the ipods and ipads from receiving texts sent to the iphone? Can we link them to "phantam" email?

We have one itunes store account for all of our apple devices. I am now separated and my kids take their ipods and ipads to my exs. How can I stop my ex from reading my texts? I turned off the home sharing, but they, kids or ex, just turn it on.
Do I have to have separate itune accounts for the other devices or can I create a separate email account and link those devices to that?

    Hi, RenegadeK.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This issue would be caused by all your devices sharing an Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime.  I would recommend signing out of iMessage on your/her/his device if possible.  Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.  Once this is done, I would recommend that either you/her/him create a new Apple ID specifically for iMessage and FaceTime here.  Then you/her/him would need to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime with the new Apple ID.  You can still keep the same Apple ID for purchases.  You can also change the password which will essentially disable iMessage for his/her account.  You could also just turn iMessage off.

  • I have a IPod and IPad on my iTunes account. My wife now has a iPhone.  We share a computer.  She wants an iTunes account.  Can I add a second iTunes account to her half of the PC?

I have an iPod and iPad.  My wifr just go an iPhone and wants an iTune account.  Can I have 2 separate accounts on one PC, and if so how do I do that?  Can she share my music files?  Thanks.

"Can I have 2 separate accounts on one PC,"
Yes.  not sure why you would want two accounts, but you can if you like.
" Can she share my music files? "
Yes.  Not sure why you wouldn't just use one account and library, but you can if you like.

Updated Itunes to 10.5.3.3 and reveived error (-42404) now lost synch with ipod, previous ver OK.  Reinstalling with repair after downloading the Itunes.exe file did not work.

Error (-42404) SOLUTION - for Vista
Uninstall everything Apple as per Apple Forum "http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 for Vista". Be the administrator to ensure you have acces to folders and files which you may need to check.  This is the solution that worked for Vista, but I read the solution for Win 7 is almost identical.

i am trying to synch some music i downloaded into itunes into my ipod and i am getting a message that the system does not recognize my ipod.   this is the same ipod that i have used in the past with the same computer and itunes.  don't know how to proceed to download the new music into my ipod.

    Hey csumner1,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are receiving a "Not enough free space" alert when attempting to sync your new iPhone 4s. The following article may help to resolve your issue:
iOS: "Not enough free space" alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
    Resolution
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
    1. Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    2. Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    3. Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    4. Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
              - If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
    5. Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
              - Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
              - Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
              - Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
              - Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
    6. Restore using iTunes.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • My macbook pro not syncing with my ipod and ipad. What do I do?

My macbook pro not syncing with my ipod and ipad. What do I do?

  • How do I use the same Itunes for both my IPOD and IPAD?

How do i use itunes for both my ipod and ipad? and have everything on both of them.

You can connect one of them to your computer's iTunes, select it on the left-hand side of iTunes, and then on the right-hand side select the Music tab and choose what to sync to that device - you can then connect, select and sync the same content to your other device.
