ITunes tells me song in icloud was not purchased on this apple id.

I'm looking at iTunes on my iPad. There is now a Purchased list ofnall the songs I have bought. Some I can download out of the cloud and some fail telling me that they were not purchased on this apple id. This is my only apple Id.  How do I fix this?

I'm sure you folks will still feel that this is some sort of bug that needs to be worked out and you may very well be correct, but I'd like to make two points about this feature.
1. It is still in beta
2. When I read this text that I copied from the iCloud web site, it makes it sound like the feature is designed to download one song, app or book at a time. Is it possible that's the way it is supposed to work?
Individually download past purchases. Beta
When you buy a song, app, or book, iTunes lets you access your purchase history so you can download what you want, from any device you want. That way, if you don’t want your iPad to automatically download everything you buy on your iPhone, just choose the things you do want to download — song by song, app by app, or book by book.

After using iTunes Match, 5 songs have a "was not copied because the audio format is not supported by the iPhone".
I have deleted these songs and downloaded them from iTunes Match (they were "matched" and not "uploaded" files).  However, it still does not work.

I have the same issue with 8 songs in my library. All are "Matched" and I've tried deleting them and redownloading them from iTunes Match, but they won't play in iTunes or transfer to any of my iDevices.

  • Song cannot be downloaded because it was not purchased with your Apple ID.

The song that I tried to buy is not on my computer, it is in the list of purchased songs to download, but I get this error message when I try to download it to my computer. My computer has been authorized for iTunes purchases- so that is not the issue. It is an issue with iCloud that needs to be fixed.
My first experience with re-downloading purchased music involved missing titles- which were not in my list to download.
I contacted Apple- and they gave me the ability to download it.
Now, things that were not available before are available now. Some of them download, some of them present you with the error message above.
This system is not quite ready, it seems.

Just to add, it seems as though this happens in a strange circumstance (at least for me and one other user that I've encountered thus far).
Individual songs seem to download fine, but for albums I have purchased that I have not yet downloaded to my PC (for example, purchased on my iPad), iTunes keeps telling me 'SONG XXX' cannot be downloaded because it was not purchased with (my) Apple ID.  This is technically a valid messge - I didnt' buy song xxx, I bought Album XXX... but it also happens when I click on the cloud below the album itself.

  • Error states: "Song title" cannot be downloaded becuase it was not purchased with your apple ID, when in fact it was!! What is going on?

Hello I am trying to use the "Download Perviously Purchased" feature on iTunes. When I go to download the songs that are not in my library that I downloaded on a different computer with my same apple ID is states ""Song title" cannot be downloaded becuase it was not purchased with your apple ID"
I did purchase it with my exact apple ID and it even asked to make sure that my account info was correct which it was. How do i solve this problem??

There are a lot of reports of people having this problem (including me). The Apple iTunes store has been having other issues as well (some speculate it might be related to the recent Lion release).
You could open a case with Apple, or you could just wait it out. I'm sure Apple is in the process of fixing it since this seems to be hitting a lot of users.

  • On my iPad, when I try to open a movie I purchased from iTunes, I get "The requested URL was not found on this server."

On my iPad, when I try to open a movie I purchased from iTunes, I get "The requested URL was not found on this server."  It's on my laptop but when I play it there, it 'jerks' every couple of seconds.  How can I fix both these issues?  Thanks!!

  • Album cannot be downloaded cause it was not purchased on this account

I downloaded an album on my iPod touch 4g and got an update on my iPad saying could download what I just bought on to my iPad as well. I went to do this and iTunes claims I didn't buy the album with my iTunes account even though I did and both devices are signed into the same account. It refused to download this album only everything else works fine.

Yeah.  This has been discussed here many times.  USe the forum search bar on the right side of this page.
Icloud is in beta version now, so there may very well be issue until it is released in its final version in the fall.

  • I get a "the requested URL was not found on this server" when trying to play a song in my iphone

I have a new iphone5 and after synking my songs and musice. I get a "The requested URL was not found on this server" when I click on a song or a music video. It is almost like itunes did not copy my songs from my account to the new iphone.

I was having the same problems with my movies and tv shows.  I unchecked them, then rechecked them, and synced all them again.  Presto!  They are all working again.  Thank you.

  • I recently purchased itunes match, but I get the message "The requested URL was not found on this server".

I have had problems with playing music on my Iphone 5 from day 1.  I have purchased almost 500 songs in itunes, and only a handful would play.  I decided to purchase IMatch, but playing music is even more difficult.  It quickly skips through my playlists showing me the artwork/album cover for each song, and will occassionally play a song, but I mostly get the message "The requested URL was not found on this server".
Help Please!  I need my music on my phone for 2 hours/day!

Ok, then as long as the videos reside on your PC, do the following:
    1) In iTunes on your PC, unsync the music videos (On the Music tab, uncheck "Include Music Videos, and then sync your iPad).
    2) Sync the music videos back to the iPad (check that same box again and sync once more).
    Does this fix it?

  • Can I transfer music that is only on my iPad that WAS NOT purchased from iTunes to my iTunes account on new computer?

I've had my iPad 2 for about four years now and I can tell that the interface is being very slow and that the screen does not always react when I tap on it, meaning I may have to get a new one sooner or later.
My biggest problem is that on my iPad, I have all of the Beatles' CDs, some of which are from my own personal copies and some are from my former local public library. Ever Since I copied all these CDs onto my iPad, I've moved to a new state and got a new laptop, thus starting with an iTunes account that only has music I purchased from the iTunes Store on it, and no Beatles. The local libraries where I live now do not offer any CDs for borrowing, so I have no way of getting some of the CDs I don't own for free. I really do not want to purchase a bunch of albums from iTunes, as well.
Is there any way to get the Beatles music that is only on my iPad that was not purchased from iTunes onto my iTunes account without removing it from my iPad? Thanks for your help!

Then the latter part of my first reply which is repeated here:
    - If you follow these instructions the iPod will be updated when the instructions say to restore.

  • While accessing my iTunes an error message comes up saying; The requested URL was not found on this server

While trying to access my library in iTunes, I receive an error message; The requested URL was not found on this server. This only happens with my older songs, but not with the ones I have most recently added? Any thoughts?

  • I can't update apps. Tells me not available for this apple ID as it was bought by a different user or item refunded or cancelled?

Unable to update apps.  Tells me not availabe for this Apple ID as it was bought by a different user or item was refunded or cancelled?

    Demo, thanks for the response.
Unfortunately none of your suffestions work.
The AppleID has only been set to one country.  Several purchases are not visibile when I look at the purchases made with the AppleID.
I get exactly the same error regardless of where I try and download the update from (from within ITunes (10.9.2), from the upgrade pane or from the software description pane.
@leinaday; yes a fix is most certainly required.
Issue started 07-May-2014 despite successful upgrades of the apps in question in the past.

  • I have downloaded a movie from ITunes.  It shows up in my video app.  When I go to play it I get an error message: "The requested URL was not found on this server". When I checked back on iTunes, where you click to rent or buy a movie it says "Downloaded"

I have downloaded a movie from ITunes.  It shows up in my video app.  When I go to play it I get an error message: "The requested URL was not found on this server". When I checked back on iTunes, where you click to rent or buy a movie it says "Downloaded".  Any advice on what I can do in order to watch this movie that I rented a couple of weeks ago?

  • The requested url was not found on this server is displayed when trying to play a video I paid for on itunes

When I try to play my itunes videos that I downloaded it says that "This requested url was not found on this server."  Why?  I paid for it, it s/b stored on my phone in itunes.  It was working fine 2 weeks ago.  I am using my iphone 4

I had a similar problem with a tv show. I contacted Apple Support and got the following instructions:
"please delete the episode from your iPad and then redownload it directly to the device. You can download past tv show, app, music, and book purchases without incurring additional charges as long as what you want to download is showing on your Purchased page. Some content may not be available for download again if its provider no longer offers it on the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBookstore.
To enable this feature, you must have the latest version of iTunes. It is available on the Apple website:
    http://www.itunes.com/download
The latest version of iTunes will not affect your library or any items in your account.
To learn how to download past purchases, check out this article:

I tried it this morning, and it worked.

  • How do I get music that is in my Itunes folder, i.e. my own music that was not purchased from the Itunes store, on to my ipod?

How do i get music that i have put into my itunes folder, i.e. it was not purchased in itunes but from another source, onto my ipod?
I have looked at a number of different discussions and none have given me the solution.
I have recently had to do a restore and all the music that was once on the device was wiped.

Import the music into your iTunes library and sync like any other music.
