I bought some songs a long time ago when I had another laptop. When I bought a new one a few years back, I found that I couldn't play the songs I bought in the iTunes store. There weren't that many, so I've just let it go. But I'd really like to hear those songs. I click to play. I get the message to authorize my computer. I enter my Apple password, and then I get the message that this computer is already authorized. I just keep going in a loop. Help. please.

You need to enter the Apple ID and password associated with those specific songs. If you're already doing that, click here and follow the instructions, or delete and redownload them if doing so is free in your country.

I know there are several threads similar to this one, but I wanted to start my own and include the exact messages that keeps popping up. Today when I tried to sync (by USB) my iPhone 4, I got the following sequence of messages:
1) "This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone "MyName". Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store? If you do not authorize this computer, 11 apps and their data will be deleted from this phone."
2) My options are to click on "Cancel", "Don't Authorize", or "Authorize"... I click on "Authorize."
3) I then enter in my Apple ID and password and get the following message...
4) "This computer is already authorized. Including this one, you have authorized one computer out of your available 5."
5) I then click "OK" and message #1 pops back up. This cycle repeats over and over.
So far I've gone into "Shared" folder and do not have a SC file to delete. I've deauthorized and authorized my computer. I've started and restarted my computer after deauthorizing and authorizing and nothing seems to work. To make matters more frustrating, I haven't made any changes and everything was working great a week ago. I also don't think it's in iPhone issue because a week ago I downloaded a song and got a similar message sequence when I tried to play the song. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The computer is new and I guess this is more of a computer than an iPhone problem, isn't it?

I went to warped tour and they handed out 20 song itune card so i tried to redeem it and then my computer froze so i had to restart it and once it started up again I tried to redeem my card again and it says i already reedemed the card but there is no evidence that I did and I didnt get any of the songs. Are the songs authorised to the same account?
Often people change their e-mail address over time, and also decide to set up new iTunes account names using that e-mail. You can (and should) continue to use an old e-mail address as your account name. Then you don't run into the issue of having different songs authorised to different accounts.
To check the authorised account for the song, click "Get info" on the song name in iTunes. It will show the account name in the Summary panel.
If you have set up multiple accounts, log into each one, and burn the songs to CD as audio tracks (i.e. like a normal CD, not a data CD). You can then re-import the files into iTunes without the authorisation embedded into the song.

delete/uninstall the apps that your relative downloaded on you iPad. to do that tap and hold on and icon til it shakes, once its shaking downloaded apps will havee (X) mark on them on a red bubble, tap on it to delete

In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar.

I don't see anything in Help that shows when you already have transfered all the files over. Why would it want to erase and sync when I already have all the music folder copied over? I didn't have an issue when I had another technician copy from one laptop to another. Home sharing is also on but not being recognized.

I suspect you only migrated the media folder instead of the complete working library. Either review the transfer process and copy over the entire iTunes folder from your old profile's music folder or see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free
