Itunes text displays correctly, no background or frame

This is very strange. I am running Itunes 7.01 on Windows XP Pro. Part of the store display, and the text of the menus display, and if I select a menu item (i.e. edit preferences) it displays, but the body of itunes is transparent and I can see the windows behind itunes through itunes. I have uninstalled Itunes repeatedly (also cleaning up all registry entries etc.), confirmed that Quicktime is running correcty, installed itunes using several different profiles, installed various Itunes versions (6.05, 6.0) all to no avail. I have a screenshot of this in .pdf format if anyone needs to see.

DirectDraw test results: Failure at step 1 (Loading DirectDraw DLL): HRESULT = 0x887600ff (Not found)
Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.
... okay ...
somewhat experimental suggestion here. but the troubleshooting suggestions from the following MS document look like they might be relevant to this:
The DirectDraw option or the Direct3D option is unavailable when you start Microsoft games for Windows
if you get as far as step 5 (using MSCONFIG) use the alternate technique for a selective startup described here:
Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows
(if we don't leave the itunes and QT background processes enabled, we may not get itunes to launch at all.)
is any of that of any help?

  • How can I get my photo to display correctly as background

I decided to change my background setting today, only to find that it doesn't display correctly anymore.
Before the update, the photo would automatically 'fit in the window' - now it gives you the option to size and scale, but this doesn't actually work, so the photo is HUGE..  I can move it side to side, but can't reduce the zoom so it all fits on the screen.
Is there a way around this - or is it another glitch?
    Thanks in advance

There's a work around, although it's not perfect. Go to your photos app, choose the image you want for wallpaper. Tap on the little box with the arrow poking out of it, send to wallpaper. then you can scale and move a bit to get your image closer to what you want.
It's still not perfect. Basically it scales your image so that it fits the whole screen, which means if your image is wider than your screen, you can just slide it left or right, but you do have more control than if you go through the settings.

  • Standard text displayed correctly in print preview but not in print

    Hi,
I have a script in which a standard text has to be printed in the output.
The standard text contains some german characters.
These characters are displayed correctly in print preview but not in print.
The text is maintained in 3 languages DE,EN and Russian.
The same text is being printed in some standard report. But that is displayed correctly both in print and print preview.
    Please suggest something.
    Regards,
    Richa Aggarwal

    Hi Richa,
Check this document from SAP: [help doc|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f0652a95-5f0b-2a10-5aba-c085f8bbe6d6?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true]
It indicates that you have to be sure to select "Unicode" fonts for your SAPScript form to ensure the proper printing of "Unicode" characters.  If a character does not display then that means it does not exist in the font that you are using.

  • Problem with images and text displaying correctly

I don't really know how to explain this problem and I had two screenshots ready to upload to show the before and after but we apparently can't upload photos now...SOOOO I will try my best.
The issue began when I got a new computer at work (Windows 7 instead the Windows XP everyone else has) and was/is present for me in InDesign CS2 and since we were planning on updating to CS5, I figured that having an updated version would fix whatever issue it was. That was a wrong assumption unfortunately.
When I open any document, all images and text are displayed properly until I scroll up/down or side-to-side and NOT using the scroll wheel for up/down. This is probably so confusing and I'm sorry I can't describe it better...the mouse I use has two programmable buttons that I set to coast up and down and to go side-to-side I can push the scroll wheel to one side or the other and it coasts that direction. When I do either of those things, the text looks like it is permanently greeked and the images look....weird lol like they are in 16 bit or something like that. To fix the problem in CS2, I have to click and hold on a text block until I am able to adjust text so that I can see it adjust in real-time. In CS5, I have to do the same basic thing except I don't have to click and hold as it does that by default (awesome feature btw!!)
I have already updated my graphics card driver (Nvidia 9400 GT 1GB) and my processor driver (Intel Core2Duo 3.0ghz) and I have 4GB of RAM. I tried updating both CS2 and CS5 but both are updated already. I've also tried doing the whole inx. export and cleaning the preferences file or whatever that is called. Nada. If someone thinks they can help me, I can send them the two images I was going to upload here. Email me at justgeig (at) gmail (dot) com Thanks in advance!

maybe greeked isn't the right word...i don't know how to explain it
here is the correct view. It is much more noticable when the whole document shows this.

  • Help please , cant use Itunes text displays ||||||||

I'v installed, uninstalled, read different threads and cant figure this out. Large portions of the text just appear as vertical hash marks. XP is up to date and no viruses found.
    HP Pavilion 7965   Windows XP   1.7gig 512meg ATI radion960

I had this problem until just now. What you need to do is scroll down to the bottom of your homepage on itunes store. In the middle at the bottom you'll see "My Store" there you will need to select your country to get it to show $ and the correct language.
    Hope this helps.

  • Coverflow in iTunes not displaying correctly.

Sometime ago my computer crashed while iTunes was open, and following a restart the coverflow option has not been working:
    http://h.imagehost.org/0409/CoverFlowissue.jpg
The mouse doesn't work with the broken coverflow; I am unable to click on it or resize it by clicking on the white lines. When the mouse clicks it selects whatever is hidden behind the coverflow instead.
The problem has stuck around after the last two updates to iTunes versions as well.
Could this be an issue with a damaged Library.xml or .itl file?
Any ideas on how to fix this without having to completely recreate my library?

Thank god that someone else is having the same problems as me!
its only just done it on mine (i'm using a windows 7 laptop)
    its driving me nuts!
any other view and it would of been fine! but not coverflow!!!!!
the only thing you can do is to keep reporting the problem to apple and hopefuly they will take a hint and fix the bug!
does any1 have any "quick fix" solutions that i can use for now while i wait?
    thank you for your help
(soz about the rant but i've just got this pc today and i really don't need this now! lol)

  • Why is iTunes not displaying correctly on my Asus laptop?

I've updated to the latest version on iTunes (v. 11) through Google Chrome and succussfully installed the application. I'm having a problem as there are no titles when trying to navigate. e.i. while under My Library > Music, I don't see "Songs, Albumn, Artist, etc." along the top toolbar. I am able to click on a blank bubble and it will send me there, but no titles show up when I select an albumn or playlist to play. I have rebooted several times and that hasn't helped. Thanks in advance.

  • Text isn't displayed correctly in IE6

Just creating a site for someone and am having a few issues with the text displaying correctly in Internet Explorer 6. I tend to create the index page and test it on most browsers out of habit to see if there are any errors. I've noticed since using iWeb '09 I've experienced a lot of text errors. All text in this site is live and Verdana. It is the same if you change it to Arial.
The site can be viewed here: http://bayfield.passionfruitdesign.com/
As you will see, it displays fine in Safari and FF etc, but on IE6 it looks like this:
    http://bayfield.passionfruitdesign.com/images/Bayfieldindexgrab01.jpg
I decided to link to a grab so you can see it to scale - notice how some of the text (what will be live text menus) is either cut off or lines are too close in some paragraphs and line breaks?
Has anyone else experienced this or know of a solution? Is it a case of simply saying to viewers; Please update your browser to IE7?!

I thought I should share my experience. I have just built a website using entirely blank templates. No blogs or photo albums. I found iweb to be an amazing design tool and a fantastic web site builder. I published my site to my own url www.geraldhenry.com with no issues. The site was perfect in Safari, Firefox and Camino on my Mac Pro. I then checked it in Internet Explorer 6 and 8. It was acceptable in 8 but looked terrible in 6. In Explorer 6, all my lists and text formatting had come apart, creating huge gaps between list items and was pushing text off the page. Yet some lists looked perfect. So I used the iweb text inspector to see what was different between the formatting I had used in the lists that displayed perfectly in Explorer 6 and those that had come apart. Here is the information I wanted to share. When using the text inspector, there is a "list" option. It gives you the opportunity to indent text as well as bullets and numbers. If I used the bullet or number indent, there was no problem. But, if I used the text indent, Explorer did not like it and the formatting blew apart as described earlier. So, the key is not to use the text indent. To indent, use the tab key or space bar. You cannot create the amazing text layouts you can using text indenting, but your work will look good in all browsers. In my case, I went through my site and removed all text indenting and replaced it with spaces using the space bar and all of the issues with the lists blowing apart were resolved. Some final notes, I built my own navigation completely and so had no navigation issues. I used Verdana type which displays perfectly in Safari, Firefox and Camino but looks weak in Explorer. Why this is, I don't know. Also, as suggested on www.allaboutiweb.com, I added a landing page that says my site looks best in Safari and Firefox and I offer download links. Please feel free to look at my site using different browsers to see how it looks. I hope this helps.

  • Vietnamese fonts are not displayed correctly.

The Vietnamese input program worked fine in the previous version but in version 4 the texts are not aligned correctly. See this http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr219/september17th/untitled-16.jpg
The character set used is Composite Unicode and input method is VNI. I tried VN forum but no one care about it =.= Also this is the FF problem those texts displayed correctly in Chrome. • SVG text doesn't display correctly in Illustrator

The following SVG (generated via Cairo) displays correctly within browsers (Firefox and Safari), but not within Illustrator: the glyph symbols are drawn at the wrong scale, upside-down, and on top of one another. Is the problem within the SVG file itself? That doesn't seem likely, given that the browsers have no problem with the file. If the problem is within Illustrator... what is the root of the problem, and is there any possible workaround?

Yes, a browser displays it fine. But they also often display invalid html code fine. Your code does validate. And InkScape does open it fine. InkScape does have it in the root rather than on a layer, don't know if that is making a difference to Illustrator or not. Nothing else I have that opens SVG files deals with it as well as Illustrator.
Here is the same file, text put back and resized down a bit. Run it through validation. You'll note Illustrator does not use the MathML 2.0 extensions. Perhaps that is the hang up.

  • Kannada Language Text not displaying correctly in Indesign

    Hi,
I am working on Indesign CS6, Windows operating system
I am having a problem in Indian language kannada, some of the letters are not correctly being shown in Indesign but the same thing in microsoft office 2007 is being shown correctly i have attached the sample documents for Indesign and office 2007 with the kannada language font.
These fonts works correctly in other text editors but not in indesign
Even I have selected the adobe world ready paragraph composer, but the result is same letters are displayed correctly
    https://www.sendspace.com/file/bdbt99

@Joel – my guess here is it should look like this:
Just opened the provided docx file in TextEdit app without installing the ttf font.
The screenshot is showing a substitute font in TextEdit.
InDesign (with the right font installed SHREE0850.TTF) is showing 4 characters (or glyphs) for the contents of the first selectable "entity":
And also 4 charcaters (or glyphs) for the contents of the second "entity":
Unfortunately not all Unicode codes are visible in the Info panel. And that entity seems to be one "word". Don't know, if using the term "word" here makes any sense.
I wanted to know, what's going on and duplicated every single "character" of the two "words" or "entities" to a different text frame:
Still don't know what's going wrong, but maybe you can make something out of this.
How did I duplicated the single characters? By scripting in ExtendScript/JavaScript. I selected one "entity" (is it a word?) and ran the following script:
    var myDoc = app.documents[0];
    var mySelChars = app.selection[0].characters.everyItem().getElements();
    for(var n=0;n<mySelChars.length;n++){
        mySelChars[n].duplicate(
            LocationOptions.AT_BEGINNING,
            myDoc.pages[0].
            textFrames.add({
                geometricBounds:[0,0,"50mm","60mm"]
            insertionPoints[0]

  • Issue with correct slide background not displayed

I am experiencing problems when publishing content captured from a simulation apart from the really annoying cursor ghosting when playing back typed text and the red screen of death and ghosting from previous slides when scrolling
I am now getting a completely different background on the published and previewed through browser slide to the background the unpublished slide is designed to show I have of course checked the timeline for hidden overlays and have also dragged the background from the library over the existing background to see if that cured it but no it still shows a background that is present in the library but is nowhere on the slide
the 2 slides either side play and look correct
The slide is also displayed correctly when previewed using "from this slide" it is only when published or through browser that the problem occurs
Strikes me that some of these issues are well past the time they should have been sorted I am begining to lose confidence in what should be a good tool but needs to be far more reliable
what with giving hackers my credit card details Adobe seem to be sliding  and I am gueesing it is because they are getting greedy and quality is taking a back seat
Everything is getting so buggy Acrobat Pro, Photoshop etc all getting very unreliable I work in a large training dept for a majopr co and I am seeing issues on all different machines and OS so it is not just my machine

    Hi Rod
    Thanks for your reply
I have tried all the supposed fixes
Inc changing quality of slides to 24 bit and no compression
Maintain slide quality and not maintain slide quality, reducing size of file, export background to photoshop reimport jpg
With mixed results, I would just like your product to do what it says it will
The only way I have found to eradicate this problem and the others mentioned is to remove any fmr from the content
I have checked for proxy cache republished in 3 versions of flash sometimes have got different results but all unacceptable
I also note many others have had same problem without resolve
Can you please halt development on new products until you resolve problems that have persisted across several versions
I am also experiencing the close browser problem which I have solved by adding Javascript but surely you with your resources could do this for your
Customers who pay very good money for your products
I didn’t think I was buying a do it yourself kit

When I open a pdf in Adobe Acrobat xi pro it is not displaying correctly. If a file is all black with orange writing, I will see only the orange writing. Its not until i print it or open crop pages dialog box that i see the background.
    i am on a Windows 7 professional PC, 64-bit.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

  • Arabic text not displaying correctly in Win Server 2008 R2

    Hi,
We have an .mdb database stored on our Windows Server 2008 R2 server but when we view the contents some of the text has strange characters.
When we view the same db in Windows Server 2003 we do not have these characters. I'm not sure what exactly we need to do to correct this issue..
    Any suggestions welcome..

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
When you open a Web page or a text file that contains a string of Arabic characters, the string is not displayed correctly. This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
The Left-to-Right Override (LRO) Unicode control character is used in the string of Arabic characters.
You specify a font that is not Simplified Arabic Fixed.
    Please apply the hotfix below:
Incorrectly displayed Arabic characters in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
    https://support2.microsoft.com/kb/976525?wa=wsignin1.0
    And check the result.
    Regards.

  • Text on some pages not displaying correctly since Lion upgrade

Since upgrading to Lion a few days ago, I find that the texg on many web pages does not display correctly. It appears to affect mainly header texts - all I get is a row of the capital letter "A" in boxes. I am running Safari Version 5.1 (7534.48.3) on Lion 10.7 Build 11A511.
Can anyone suggest a fix for this?
