ITunes thinks I don't live in the US

Someone sent me a file from iTunes that I couldn't open because at the time I was living in Germany. Now I moved the the US and want to view the file but iTunes continues to give me the error message (in German) that this product is only available in the US. But I Am in the US. How can I change my country setting on iTunes?

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in the country where you and your iTunes account are to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

    The Verizon iPad will only work in the US, you will need to go with the AT&T version.

  • Itune video downloads don't play on the new ipod

    I am able to purchase video content from the itunes site and play it on my laptop, but downloads to my ipod have audio only even though the video format is supposed to be supported. ( this is true for both TV programs and music videos ) Apple's Ipod helpdesk is well....helpless. The tech I spoke to says its ITune's issue not Ipod's, claiming the file format should be supported but may not be and there is no apparent way to know. ( the tech couldn't tell either from the file information from Itunes )
    Is video content purchased on ITunes playable on Ipods? If not, why is that not apparent before you purchase something.
    Last comment, customer service from ITunes is very poor.

    If you have a video iPod, you may have better luck over on the 5th gen iPod boards. Not all of us are lucky enough to have a video iPod....

  • IPad and IPhone synced to different PCs how do I get the same music on both devices? I used one PC to put CDs on ITunes but these don't appear on the phone which syncs to the Mac.

    I have 1 ITunes account but my IPad is synced to a Windows PC to download CDs onto my IPad and the Iphone is synced to the Mac. I was hoping that the CDs I'd put on the IPad from the Windows PC would automatically appear on my IPhone when both these devices were sharing the same Wi-Fi at home. This didn't really work very well and I've been left with the CDs showing on the list on my phone but when I try to play them, the different tracks keep scrolling fast and not playing. I've tried deleting them from the IPhone, but they just seem to retreat to ICloud.
    I've tried syncing the phone to the windows PC but this has just resulted in an error and I think this may be what has screwed the music up on my phone. I would just like to be able to listen to my CDs on my phone.
    Has anyone come across this before and resolved it?

    Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"?  There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.

    The above can get pretty complicated.  You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

    One possible explanation is your iPad may have restrictions.  Check Settings > General > Restrictions

    it seems to work when you reset the port
    try this only after you've made sure that any antiviral/firewall software isnt blocking iTunes and the internet connection settings are fine
    1. go to windows, accessories and right click on command prompt and run as administrator
    2. type in netsh winsock reset (i know sounds ridiculous but it works type WITH SPACES) and press enter
    3. Message saying "winsock reset successful now reboot your computer"
    4. restart your computer, and open iTunes..backup should run much smoother and faster
    5.Click on iTunes store might be working now

  • How can I download from CS2 Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro when I don't live in the United States?

    I am using XP Virtual machine and need to create PDFs from Word 2003 for a client but I can't activate after installation as the Activation server has been taken down.  Same issue with Adobe Digital Editions.

    What country do you live/work in? Not all countries are allowed to use Acrobat software for several reasons especially the encryption features.

    Hi, thanks to whoever will be able to respond - which the Apple assistance on line in Italy could not do, after minutes of conversation!
    The point is that I cannot see anymore the total duration of two or more audio tracks selected from the same CD, but only the duration of the whole CD.
    With the previous version of iTunes this was very easy, as I simply clicked on the tracks the interested me and I suddenly had the total time.
    It makes no sense that Apple provides a new version which lacks one of the endless options of the program, therefore I hope it's only my faul in not being able to understand what to do. Otherwise, please tell me how can I downgrade and go back to iTunes 10....

  • Itunes thinks i'm not connected to the internet.

    I keep trying to update to 1.2, but every time i try, it says i'm not connected to the internet. Itunes Store works fine, and I have a cable modem. I've tried turning off my firewall, re-installing.

    Hi, I have found this answer in a post and it has just worked for me.
    Here is the solution:
    1) Open Internet Explorer.
    2) Go to Tools->Internet Options.
    3) Go the the Connections tab.
    4) Click on Lan Settings.
    5) Check the box that says "Automatically detect settings."
    6) Apply/OK out and close IE.
    7) Go back to iTunes and try it again. You may have to restart the program.

  • HT1923 I can syn the iPod 1 week ago and now can't find it on the itune.  iPod don't appear on the PC too.

    Why the iPod is so funny while it can syn i week ago and now can't even find the iPod on the itune left hand column.  I can still hear the sound when the iPod is plug in the PC,  Why?   I have install over a thousand songs and reinstall itune means to do it all over again.  What a waste of time and energy?   There are songs I can not retrieve again!!!!

    No app is required.                                               
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing without a court order

    However, I can no longer access the iTunes store as the PC just sits there in limbo.
