Are you able to export songs from itunes to rca lyra mp3 player model RD1090A..basicly is itunes compatiable with this mp3 player or can i convert these songs to mp3 format for this player... also when i try upload to player i get error " filepath to deep " something like that...

iTunes for Windows is only compatible with the iPod/iPhone range and the older iTunes enabled phones from Motorola. You need to check out the manual for your player to see what method it uses to import songs. Most will have their own management software and many just operate as simple USB devices and you can drag tracks from the iTunes Music folder rather than through the iTunes interface. Officially, iTunes does not sync any non-Apple player. Sometimes they will work, but sooner or later, a release comes out that causes it to stop working.

iTunes will only manage the content on Apple branded devices.
For a 3rd party product use the tools that came with it, Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer. I used to use SyncToy with my iRiver H140 to copy over the compatible files from the music folder of my library into the device.

The Music you purchased from iTunes are AAC (m4a) format. Depends on whether your MP3 player will support this format. Otherwise you can convert thses AAC format into mp3 format so that you can transfer those mp3 files to your MP3 Player.
Go to Itunes menu, EDIT > PREFERENCES, GENERAL tab. Go in IMPORT SETTINGS, under IMPORT USING, select MP3 encoder, then OK and OK.
Right mouse click the song(s) in music library will give you a Menu to select CREATE MP3 version.

Yes, however they aren't practical for many people since they aren't compatible with Yahoo's unlimited music service. Many people would rather get a Zen Micro or Sleek and pay $60 a year to Yahoo to fill up their player with music rather than pay over $,000 to Apple to fill up their 4 gig player with music at 99 cents a song. With the Yahoo service, one can also change the music in their player without additional cost.

With Creative's Nano and Nano Plus, one can use a rechargeable AAA battery. Rechargeable AAA batteries are great since most chargers can charge 4 at a time. Four nimh AAA rechargeable batteries and a charger can often be purchased for under $20.
With the ipod Nano, once the charge in the built in battery runs out, one can't listen to it until it is recharged. With the Creative Nano Plus, one just switches to another battery(remember I just mentioned how AAA nimh batteries can be conveniently charged 4 at a time?). Taking an ipod Nano on a long trip would be annoying. While the player is small, the notebook computer one would need to carry with it to recharge the player is quite large. I would much rather carry a few extra AAA batteries than a notebook computer(I as many others don't even own a notebook computer).

I would also love to have one, but only if it is compatible with Yahoo Music Unlimited, uses a AA or AAA battery, and has a built in radio. That rules out Apple's players on three counts.

Using Purchased iTunes Music on my Creative MP3 player?

I purchased music from iTunes, but there is one problem, I can't play it on my Creative Zen Vision MP3 player. I went to iTunes because they seem to have the best selection, but if I can't play it on anything that an iPod, then what's the point? Can anybody help me so I can play it on my music device? You must burn a CD-Audio to play it in your home/car stereo.
If you also want to play those songs on your Creative player, once you've done the CD-Audio you can rip it again in MP3.

Using plain old mp3 player with iTunes on Mac

Hi all,
I want to use a plain, old USB MP3 player (mass storage-type) with iTunes on my Mac (OS X 10.4.x). I asked this question over on the Windows iTunes forum at

and wondered if there's anything that'll work on the Mac.
In Windows, I basically have resorted to drag-n-drop from the iTunes window to a Windows Explorer window showing the USB MP3 player as a removable drive, or to using iTunes Agent (http://ita.sourceforge.net), which is a Windows-only solution.
What's the solution on Mac OS X?

I think a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous. If you're able to get music onto the player in Windows via drag and drop, I see no reason why that won't work on the Mac as well, provided that your Mac can recognize the drive. I would imagine it can, as I've never come across a PC formatted drive that my Mac didn't recognize.
There is also a freeware application called XNJB that apparently works as an interface between a Mac and a Creative MP3 player. I haven't used either, so can't vouch for them at all.

I have iTunes for my mac and my own iPod. I want to get my kids an inexpensive mp3 player (non-apple) for Xmas. Does this work? Can I load their players with their songs from my library?

Yes, but it won't be as easy as synching with an i-device. I have a Sansa player as well as a RCA MP3 player. With both devices you can simply copy mp3 files to them. As long as the mp3s are tagged correctly you can arrange by artist, album etc amnd play that way. If you want playlists things get a bit tricky. Neither player has software that supports OSX so playlists on the Sansa either have to be created by hand or using a third party script.
If your computer can run Windows you can use the software that way, otherwise there is a moderate degree of inconvenience, especially if playlists are important.

Using multiple MP3 Player With iTunes

I'm new to iTunes and have a Sansa MP3 player that I want to give my young son. I would then buy an iPod for myself. Can I transfer songs back and forth to multiple MP3 players (not necessarly iPods) from my PC without purchasing the same song again? In other words, once I buy a song, can I sync it to multiple palyers?

Content purchased from the iTunes Store is in a protected AAC format except for EMI songs, which are unprotected AAC songs. Neither format will work on an MP3 player without being converted; see here for instructions on converting an unprotected song.
A song can be synced from the iTunes library to any handheld player capable of using that format without needing to purchase it again.

Using itunes files for differnt MP3 player

In our household we have 2 iPods and a seperate generic MP3 player. I cannot get itunes songs to the generic MP3 player. It seems almost impossible to copy these.
Does anyone have any ideas?

The DRM protected songs from the iTunes store (the ones that cost .99 and show up as "Protected AAC" if you sort by kind in iTunes) will only work on iPods, your computer and certain iTunes compatible cell phones. They won't work on other mp3 players.
The newer, DRM-free tracks (so far only music on the EMI label, which cost 1.29 and shou up as AAC when sorted by kind) will play on players that support eh AAC format. Some players do and some don't. Check your owner's manual.
Even if your player supports AAC, you won't be able to use iTunes to transfer the files. Again, check the owner's manual for your player to determine how to load music on to it.
