ITunes to Apple TV but not Other Way Around
Hello, gang! I have my laptop running iTunes 10.7. OS is Windows 7.
My Apple TV, in another room, can stream music if I start it on the laptop but not the other way around. If I start a song on Apple TV, I cannot hear it on the laptop.
The multiple speakers option in iTunes has check marks on both My Computer and AppleTV.
Any help would be appreciated.

When you complete your sync, how should the shows appear in the tv directory? Mine are grayed out and twice I've gone through the custom sync process but both times they do not show up when I go into the menu under TV Shows - My Shows I get the message that no shows are available. Any ideas?
I'm using a wireless net, the tv has the latest update along with an Airport Extreme, running 10.5.5 on a G4.

ICal iMac synchs to iPhone but not other way
I am still using MobileMe. Events I put in my iMac iCal show up on iPhone calendar but not other way; events entered on the iPhone do not show up on other devices.
Do this on my mac?
My calendars are set to sync.
When I click sign out, a few dialog boxes pop up and I'm worried I will create two copies of everything, or worse delete everything if I press the wrong thing. Do I keep things, or delete from mac as when I sign in they'll be there again?

How to make a Dynamic Link starting in After Effects to Premier (not other way around)
I have seen a ton of tutorials how to Dynamic Link from Premier to After Effects. (but not the other way around. )
I need instructions/video how to link starting in After Effect to Premier.
For example if I make a title in After Effects and then want to dynamic Link it into Premier how is this done?
Thanks!!I've looked at this too. When I first started using DL, I thought that it was basically a two way street between applications. But that analogy doesn't work very well. DL is PPro-centric. Like PPro is the hub, DL the spokes, and the other Abobe applications are on the rim. And this makes a fair amount of sense. The central feature of an editing suite is the editor, and that would be PPro.
Another way to look at it is that you can push from PPro to AE, and PPro can pull from AE, but AE can not push to PPro. So the direct answer to "I need instructions/video how to link starting in After Effect to Premier" is, you can't. What you can do is make your title composition in AE, import that AE project into PPro, and use the composition as you would any other asset in PPro. Then when you change your title in AE, you'll see the change in PPro almost immediately without you having to do anything.
When I'm making motion lower thirds, for example, I now make them in AE. I let the AE project reside in the directory with the PPro project that I made the lower thirds for. Then when I want the lower thirds in PPro, I just import the AE lower thirds into the PPro project. There's a few ways to do this. One is to use the Media Browser. The MB will open up the AE project for you and let you select which composition you want to import. Another way is to File...Adobe Dynamic Link...Import AE composition which does more or less the same thing. There may be other ways as well, IDK. -
How transfer movies from itunes to apple tv but not from aTV to itunes
I want to transfer the movies and tv shows that I have in iTunes to my Apple TV but I dont want the content of my apple tv to be transfered to itunes, I dont have enough space in my macbook. I tried to sync them but it automatically copies the content of apple tv to itunes and when I cancel the sync it threatens me to erase the content of my apple tv. I took the risk and disconnected itunes from my apple tv, nothing purchased on apple tv was erased but the movies that miraculously were able to be copied from itunes to atv were erased from atv (i still have them on itunes). I still want to transfer those movies to my apple tv, but whenever I do that apple tv keeps syncing with itunes and sends everything to my macbook. I just want to free space of my macbook without erasing anything from apple tv.
It's the way it works.
the iTunes library is supposed to be 'in sync' with AppleTV, so anything bought on AppleTv copies to iTunes to keep things in sync.
If you delete from iTunes it'll delete from appletv too.
There's no manual way to get stuff off appletv so you must make a backup of the files transferred to itunes.
If you then delete the files from their folder direct (right click on a file in itunes and open it's location) but DON'T delete the entry in itunes, you'll free space up on the laptop. You must make a copy first onto say a DVD or external drive unless you're happy for things just to be on appletv and to lose the if it fails/breaks. Remember you cannot manually access the files in appletv to do a file transfer. -

How can I transfer photos from an IPhone 5 to an IPad 2 using a cable. I have tried using the lightning to firewire adapter with my current lead but this only seems to allow a download from the IPad to the IPhone and not the other way around.
The devices are not designed for transfer of that kind. Use Photo Stream as suggested by another poster, or transfer photos to your computer (a good idea anyway since they will be lost if your device needs to be reset), then use iTunes to sync them to the other devices.

I have tried to install iCloud on to my Windows Vista pc. No control panel is present and when I try to login to iCloud using my iTunes id, I am told that it is an Apple id but not set up for the cloud. without the control panel where do I set up my iCloud id?
You can not setup a new iCloud account using a PC. You must use an Apple device (Mac or iPhone/iPad) to create the account, then sign into it using your PC.

My kids now each have an itouch, should we all have different apple ids even if I am paying for all itunes and app store purchases? what about icloud? I would like to share itunes and app purchases, but not necessarily photos...help please!
The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud. With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated. There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

Hi, I have just downloaded icloud, its on my desktop fine. When I try to log-in with my usual itunes id, it tells me - I have a valid apple id but not an icloud account. Am I being dumb or should I be doing something else? - please help, its doing my head in....
You should have been assigned an @me.com email address, which is the login. If you moved from MobileMe "paid" then that will be the Apple ID to use.

I am trying to create an icloud account and have used itunes for years . Therefore have been using my apple id to sign in. Unfortunatly it keeps coming back saying this is my apple id but not my icloud id is this different?
Ive looked at help and it states its the same i have changed my passord several times as i thought it was this. Can anyone please help.??I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. Thanks for taking the time. Unfortunately no that does not solve it. Same as swipe it will get me there and it will show separate programs spaced out. The issue I am having is that all my open word files are bunched up in a pile on top of each other. I can see the edges of each one but I want them to be separated from each other enough that I can visually identify what file is what.

Using home share, I can import some songs from my son's computer but not others. All the songs were purchased with the same apple id. Err msg:"There was a problem downloading ... You do not have enouggh access privileges for this operation. Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again." The network appears to be fine . I can import other songs from his library. The same songs cause me a problem each time I try. My husband had no trouble importing the same songs I have trouble with. I get the same error message if I try to import the same songs from my husbands computer as well. "Command I" appears to show the same protections on both the songs I can import & the ones I cannot. My husband and son are both running OS 10.6, while I am running 10.7. I think I had this problem even before I upgraded, but I am not certain.

My first suggestion is to Repair Disk. Here's how:
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior
